Product Warranty is a Joke and Terrible Customer Service
I typically do not write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience. I live in South Florida. Around December 2021, we engaged a contractor and paid over $100,000 to replace our windows and doors with impact windows and doors that are supposed to withstand impact of up to 150 mph wind load. Our contractor selected Marvin to manufacture the windows and doors, but during the entire installation process we had a myriad of issues with the windows not closing, not locking properly, etc. Our contractor finally passed inspection in April 2023 and indicated that Marvin's warranty on our windows and doors is for 10 years. On January 5, 2026, I noticed a crack on 1 of the windows without ANY incident of a storm or other impact, so I filed a warranty claim with Marvin. First, I got the run-around from Marvin's reps telling me the cracked window was not manufactured by Marvin. Then, after I sent them pictures of multiple Marvin stickers on the cracked window, I received an email from a customer care rep named, Christine Nestegard. Without sending a rep to inspect the window or any other site assessment or investigation, Christine informed me by email that Glass breakage or cracking is not attributable to a covered manufacturing defect and therefor not a warrantable condition under the Marvin Limited Warranty. Christine further informed me that Marvin's limited warranty on its manufactured "impact" windows and doors does not cover claims resulting from damage, defects, or problems resulting from causes outside of Marvin’s control — including impact damage, misuse, abuse, accident, negligence, or extreme weather events. Sooooooooo, if Marvin specifically excludes "impact damage" without a wind load qualifier from its manufactured "impact windows" that are supposed to withstand 150 mph wind load, what exactly does Marvin's warranty cover? This is a deceptive sales practice. When I persisted and asked Christine, Marvin's rep, to provide me with a list of Marvin's covered manufacturing defects, Christine simply gave me a link to the Marvin's third party sales retailer in Ocala (who I had no prior dealing with) and Marvin's online warranty disclosures which have an effective date of September 1, 2023, after the final installation date of our windows and doors. This company advertise that it provides high-end quality products and services, but realistically Marvin provided me with poor product qualify and services, after I paid an arm and a leg expecting "high end" products and services.
