We had a very Horrible and Money Losing Experience with their Fuingerola Branch while applying for a Spanish Residence Permit . The Lawyer assigned was completely Unprofessional with No knowledge . Later we realised that we ended up spending 100 times more money and time than required for our purpose and there were much simpler and cheaper ways of achieving the same results . We could have SAVED all this money and time if we had met a competent and knowledgeable Lawyer who would have guided us to take the correct way to achieve our purpose .

Vi befinner oss mitt i processen att köpa en lägenhet i Spanien och har redan betalat reservationsavgiften, 10% och köpeskillingen + övriga kostnader. Vi hade muntligt kommit överens om ett inträdesdatum 5 dagar innan den skriftliga överenskommelsen. Tyvärr har det nu visat sig att säljaren inte har sina handlingar i ordning, vilket kan leda till att den skriftligt inträdesdatumet skjuts upp eventuellr till och med upp till tre veckor. Denna förändring har resulterat kostnader för oss som en onödig resa till Spanien, flera hotellnätter och förlorade ränteintäkter eftersom vi redan har skickat köpeskillingen till klientkontot enligt avtalet. Vi har känt oss otroligt stressade då vi inte kunnat planera någonting på grund av denna osäkerhet. Trots att vi har uppfyllt alla våra åtaganden känner vi att advokatbyrån inte har kunnat möta våra behov som kunder varken visat sin kunskap att hitta en lösning som är fördelaktigt för oss. Denna advokatbyrån lät säljaren komma en efter andra konstiga lösningar som hade kostat ännu mer pengar för oss och innehöll helt orimliga krav. Man hade nästan kunnat tro att denna byrån var företrädare för säljaren och inte för oss. Just nu är vår upplevelse av byrån så pass negativ att vi vill dela med oss av den, för om du överväger att välja en advokatbyrå som står på din sida när det blir ett problen då bör du undvika denna byrån. Vi är väldigt besvikna på detta passivitet.

We are in the midst of the process of buying an apartment in Spain and have already paid the reservation fee, 10%, and the full purchase price plus additional costs. We had verbally agreed on a move-in date 5 days before the written agreement. Unfortunately, it has now emerged that the seller does not have their documents in order, which may result in the written move-in date being postponed, possibly up to three weeks. This change has resulted in costs for us such as an unnecessary trip to Spain, several hotel nights, and lost interest income since we have already sent the purchase price to the client account as per the agreement. We have felt incredibly stressed as we have been unable to plan anything due to this uncertainty. Despite fulfilling all our commitments, we feel that the law firm has not been able to meet our needs as customers or demonstrate their ability to find a solution that is advantageous to us. This law firm allowed the seller to propose one strange solution after another, which would have cost us even more money and included completely unreasonable demands. One could almost believe that this firm was representing the seller rather than us. At the moment, our experience with the firm is so negative that we want to share it, because if you are considering choosing a law firm that will be on your side when there is a problem, then you should avoid this firm. We are very disappointed with this passivity.

Estamos en medio del proceso de comprar un apartamento en España y ya hemos pagado la tarifa de reserva, el 10%, y el precio total de compra más los costos adicionales. Habíamos acordado verbalmente una fecha de entrada 5 días antes del acuerdo por escrito. Desafortunadamente, ahora ha salido a la luz que el vendedor no tiene sus documentos en orden, lo que puede resultar en que la fecha de entrada escrita se posponga, posiblemente hasta tres semanas. In March 2021, I hired Martínez-Echevarría to assist me in purchasing a property in Albufeira in order to obtain the golden visa to get Portuguese residency for my children and myself. I purchased the property in May 2021. I was approved for the ARI (golden visa) October 2021. I got an appointment with SEF for the biometric scan in July 2022, in Portimão.

The Martínez-Echevarría attorney told me that I should go to the appointment without her. When I arrived at my appointment, the SEF officer asked where my attorney was? I told him that she told me to come without her. He was very surprised because it is required that you attend the meeting with an attorney. He asked “Has she ever done this before?” Since I didn’t have my attorney with me at the appointment, I was unable to complete the process.

Unfortunately, I was not been able to secure a new appointment with SEF. Since I had an appointment in 2022 but the process was not completed since no attorney was present, it seems my application is stuck in a bureaucratic crack. It is now 2024 and the SEF no longer exists. The new agency has an 18 month backlog and the government of Portugal is changing the Golden Visa rules. Even though I paid in full for the service, the attorney no longer responds to my inquiries.

Pésima experiencia con este despacho de “abogados”. Tras cometer un error de principiante y garantizarme, por parte de su administrador único y su director general, la indemnidad del perjuicio que se produjera, han incumplido su compromiso sin asumir el perjuicio causado. No me ha quedado más remedio que demandarles. Una vergüenza para la profesión.

They have poor customer service, making you wait for extended periods on the phone and providing excuses for not meeting with you in person. they prioritize making money by charging you to start a case but fail to provide adequate support afterward. This experience may lead you to the Spanish law system is flawed. However, it is important to note that the shortcomings reflect the entire legal system in Spain.

Do not trust Martinez Echevarria with your business or your money – their client account is a Bermuda Triangle, in which clients’ money goes in and disappears without a trace for years, and your business will show a significant minus in their tender care. They completely messed up post-sales on both contracts I engaged them for and is currently refusing to transfer the remaining sale funds from their client account into mine.
In 2010, law firm of Martinez Echevarria was a leader in their field in Marbella, now their performance is completely unprofessional and their behaviour borderline fraudulent. Post-sales was completely bungled: none of the contracts I was holding on the old apartment were cancelled, until payments were honoured by my bank, and I signaled it to them; none of the sums owed to me by the buyer made it to back to my account – either they were not requested, or, when paid, were not transferred to me; I’m still short on a house insurance bill that arrived in August for the property sold in February, and the new contracts concluded in my name for the new property are the worst possible deal, as admitted by the suppliers themselves. They don’t answer the phone, don’t answer emails, ignore you as soon as the money is in, and you cannot even recuperate your own documents, never mind your money.
Martinez Echevarria is still holding funds left over from the sale of my property, funds that were transferred to them by the buyer to hold for me until the sale was done; the sale was signed in February 2022, and, although the sums figure in their final report to me, they have steadfastly ignored repeated appeals from me to transfer them to me, as they should have 15 months ago already. After many visits and emails, I was assured that my funds have left their account and I should get the transfer in 2 days – it took 10, and I received 30% of the funds; after which – complete silence again, no responses, no communication.

If there was a choice to leave zero ⭐️ I would have, I had no choice but to leave 1 ⭐️ and they don’t deserve that.
Stay away from this company, the service is diabolical. I had to do all the chasing for my mortgage completion, I very nearly lost the property and my deposit, the mortgage completed on the afternoon of the final day to complete, it was extremely stressful. And with Martinez Echevarria, there is no such thing as aftercare, every time I contacted them for my papers I was always told my solicitor was not available, in the end a Spanish friend of mine called at the office to obtain my papers for me. Please take my advice, stay away from Martinez Echevarria, they will cause many a sleepless night.

Darle una estrella me parece regalarles algo… es increíble llevar años detrás de ellos, no consigo hablar con nadie, nunca devuelven las llamadas, son unos ladrones y unos incompetentes. No puedo más, es increíble lo que me están haciendo pasar. No recomiendo por nada del mundo que nadie contrate sus servicios. No valen para nada. Siento mi comentario, pero es impotencia lo que tengo ya con ellos.

Today I called the law Firm with a very time sensitive issue that was expiring today, and if i missed the deadline I would experience much expense. So I had to write a review. I called them today and told them I had a problem that was causing me much stress and consternation and I was out of time. I had to spend a great deal of time and money if it was not for this law firm. I called and explained my problem was put through to a lawyer named Filipa Oliveira and she was amazing. She really saved me today and I am so thankful. I actually offered her extra money and she refused. I can not recommend her more. She was honest and amazing - a true God send. Thank you all at martinez echevarria, especially Filipa this is the second time I have used the services of this law firm. Once in Spain and once in Portugal and always professional, honest and kind.

Falta de profesionalidad total.
Años tramitando mi reclamación sin ningún resultado, no responden ni devuelven las llamadas, llamo para reclamar mi documentación y me dan largas,… un desastre.
Si estas pensando en contratar sus servicios mejor busca otro despacho, estos señores son muy mala elección para defender tus intereses.
