I asked Mark for some advice on pianos after enjoying seeing his regular posts on Facebook. I'm not in a position to be able to buy a piano yet but he promptly sent me a link to an article he has written on what to look for at a range of budgets. With this, not am I only dreaming about my next piano, but also what I'll be looking for after that! Really useful for anybody, especially on what not to waste money on. It's great to see someone who cares rather than just looking to make money. Thanks, Mark.

Absolutely first class service. Oliver and Julie were so helpful enabling me to choose and purchase my perfect piano! I never felt rushed or pressured in any way. Communication was always excellent. Piano was delivered swiftly (free of charge) they even moved my old piano to another family member’s house the same day. Complimentary follow up tuning was great and hassle free to organise. I’ve recently bought a Yamaha U3 and am thrilled with it! The whole experience from my initial enquiry through to delivery of the piano was excellent. I visited the showroom twice and was given lots of advice from Oliver. He was really knowledgeable and helpful without ever being pushy. I was given lots of time to try them out and Oliver also offered to play a few for me to help with making my decision. Once I’d placed an order the process ran really smoothly - excellent communication (including a lovely hand-written letter from Mark’s daughter!) a faultless delivery process - and the piano itself is amazing. I couldn’t be happier 😀

Such a brilliant place. Endless time and no hassle whilst I tried the MANY pianos. Oliver was knowledgable but didn’t ran information down my throat. I was given all the space and time I needed. The process was so simple and Julie was fabulous at sorting the paperwork etc afterwards. Can not recommend highly enough.

I bought my Yamaha Piano from this company in 2010 and have been delighted with it ever since. I recently asked if Mark knew how I could obtain sheet music clips for the music ledge and they immediately sent me a pair of Katz Klips free of charge and these are just right for me. I am so unused to such brilliant service I’m still a bit stunned! Ten years on and still supporting their customers. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!

I recently purchased a Yamaha SU131 piano from MGP. I had visited them a couple of years before, when I had a very good customer experience of being looked after - and left alone to try in my own time without any pressure. At the time I wasn't ready to buy. The right time came recenty, and at the same time as this particular model became available. I took advantage of their extended try it at home and money back if not happy, without going into the showroom to see it. I was a bit nervous about this, and worried I was rash, but Julie was most reassuring in immediately saying that though they would take my old piano away, it would be kept for the trial period and brought back if I didn't want to keep the new one. After just a few weeks with the new piano, I am absolutely delighted with it - its set-up and condition are excellent. The delivery service was also first class. The whole experience was exemplorary. I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone thinking about starting or upgrading an instrument.

I can not recommend Mark Goodwin pianos enough. We received amazing service and aftercare for our piano from Mark. It’s incredibly rare to get such personal service these days not only did Mark offer advice about the piano but has been there every step of the way from delivery to tuning. We won’t go anywhere else.

I have a Yamaha piano to sell, but didn't know the year of manufacture or where manufactured. I asked Mark for his help. After providing Mark with photos, he determined my piano was manufactured in 1967 in Japan. Thanks, Mark, for your help and quick response!

Superb service start to finish. Julie has been incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful answering all my (many!) questions, with no obligation. And the piano is stunning and plays beautifully :) highly recommend.

Bought a 1977 Yamaha U3. Cheapest price for a Yamaha restored model in the UK but of more importance was how valued I felt as a potential customer. I was not fully committed to buying and told Julie this but regardless she couldn’t have given me any better information and made me feel that I was not wasting her time. This extended to her promising to give me first refusal on two pianos and allowing me a couple of weeks to make my choice. Delivery was also extremely professional and the piano is stunning. My piano tuner in Glasgow also speaks very highly of Mark Goodwin Pianos as he has had professional dealings with them in the past. If you are a swithering about a purchase take my advice and go for it as you won’t be disappointed.

My Yamaha U3X piano arrived just about three weeks ago. In a bid to present a balanced review, I shall tell you the negative as well as the positive sides to my MGP experience.

What don’t I like about Mark Goodwin Pianos? For a start MGP has caused me to wish my life away (well, six weeks or so of it anyway) as I wait for my beautiful, gorgeous, lovingly and professionally restored U3X to be tuned!

Also, I don’t like the fact MGP is in London or the other side of Manchester to me when it really ought to be located in my town so I can visit often! Mark, you would only need to slightly adapt the signage of a big empty space In Northwich if you moved into our now closed down Marks and Spencer store!

Finally, I didn’t like the fact that the very nice free mug of coffee I was given when I visited the showroom on my birthday wasn’t self heating to prevent it going cold whilst I had a go on all the fantastic pianos on display!

Think that’s about it for the negatives. The positives? Too many to list, but because the showroom is by appointment only, there was not the usual problem found in music shops of trying to get to a piano to try it out, or wishing some other pianist would stop playing The Entertainer so loud on another piano whilst I try to hear what I’m playing.

Then there’s the amazing number of pianos to try out (did I mention that they are all lovingly restored to a pristine “brand new” finish?), the fabulous communication before during and after with Mark and Julie who, it has to be said, have a depth of experience and knowledge way beyond anything I’ve come across before… My wife and I met Julie on the day we visited; the women got on so well that I was left with freedom to play pianos for a couple of hours! And what a lovely, gracious person Julie is too! The patience she showed as I asked loads of questions and continued to do so by text and email before I finally placed my order. Indeed, I first corresponded with Mark in 2012 when I asked a few questions about pianos… Just took me eight years to finally buy one!

Finally, the amazing expertise of the piano removal firm Mark and Julie use… WOW! Were we impressed?!? You bet we were!

Would I recommend Mark Goodwin Pianos? Absolutely, completely, totally. I LOVE MY PIANO… Thank you Mark and Julie.

I am a returning player having not played in 20 years. After some research, I decided I wanted a Yamaha and came across Mark Goodwin Pianos.

Firstly, the website was really informative. There's so much information there and it's clear that these people are truly passionate about what they do. So I decided to get in touch.

Julie was incredibly helpful. Having not played in a long time, and never having had a high quality instrument of my own, I needed some steer. I knew what sound I was after and my rough budget, but that's it. Julie was really patient and answered everything I had to ask. When the shipment of pianos came in and had been assessed, she sent me a shortlist of pianos that matched my requirements (with videos!).

In the end I bought a 1993 U30AS, with the original silent system updated to the Ad Silent. It was delivered really quickly and professionally. It's a wonderful instrument that has been excellently refurbished, and the silent system is fantastic. I will arrange my first tuning shortly, which is included in the price.

I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone (and have already done so to a friend).

If you need a piano, absolutely go to Mark Goodwins, they’re just fantastic and they really look after you from start to finish! The service has been excellent, they’re incredibly knowledgeable, flexible, communicative, price-wise they are super competitive and you really do get plenty for your money. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

I had a silent kit fitted to my piano, 6 months later during its regular tune my tuner noted a small issue with how the silence kit was fitted. There’s was no messing about from mark Godwin’s, they asked my tuner to correct the error, and forwarded me the money to pass on. Really impressed.

The piano was not exactly what I want when I received. When I called Julie regarding those issues, Mark and Julie were very positive to deal with my case, no complaint, no bad attitude. They even sent the other piano temporary for my son practise when the old one took away for some amendment.

Their service is more than you expected, highly recommend them, I look forward another piano when I do upgrade after few years.

My shopping experience with Mark Goodwin Pianos was painless and efficient. Mark and his wife were very helpful and experienced with all the questions I had. I was asked questions about where my piano will be situated, was advised, when asked, the best model for my needs, the current number in stock and my affordability.
The piano arrived in December 2018, not long after my conversation and my commitment to buying one. The two lovely delivery drivers moved my old piano (it was being recycled) very professionally, my floors were properly covered etc. Then the new piano was installed and hey presto, what a beautiful piece it was. It was exactly as I had envisaged and my two children have both since been through two grades of piano exams with great results. The best purchase I have made for my children's musical future.

I recieved a warm welcome at my own private viewing appointment by Julie and Chris the Technician and was given demonstrations on the full range at the Oldham showroom. My experience was very helpful and informative and I have since taken a very timely delivery of my piano with no issues at all. The post sale service has also been very good, with keen help available to arrange for my tuning which was included. Overall, very happy customer who would strongly recommend Mark Goodwin Pianos.

If you are looking to buy a YAMAHA piano do not look any further MGP will get you a decent piano with reasonable price. Trust them 100 percent.
My wife and I decided to buy a piano for my 7 year-old son so he can start practicing and learning this mesmerising instrument.
After research a lot I have finally decided to get a second hand Yamaha piano from golden age.
Completely by chance I came across this family run piano shop. Due to my busy life I was not able to go and try the piano myself and had to ask them to pick a nice sounding piano for me and I am glad that I did.
Mark and Julie have taken care of everything they recommended a very beautiful Yamaha U3 with amazing tone.
