I cannot rave enough about these toiletry bags....

I cannot rave enough about the travel toiletry bags. I have travelled throughout my life from 6 months of age. Toiletry bags have been a big bone of contention. But the Flat Lay Makeup bags are brilliant. I have one of each size and recently bought another large for my hairdryer. My mother saw them and asked me to order for her (also a seasoned traveller).

I also bought a Maylyn compact case for my gym bag. What I love about this is it is not structured, holds just about everything but the kitchen sink and even when I don't take much with me it flattens out so doesn't take up too much room.

The company is very easy to deal with. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

I absolutely love this brand of makeup…

I absolutely love this brand of makeup bags! I ordered one and the colour is perfect, while the quality is amazing. The way the zip opens the bag out fully makes it so practical — all of my makeup stays neatly organised in separate sections, making everything super easy to find. I love this bag so much that I’ve already ordered the large size in Espresso for all my hair products too! 🫶🏽

Awful product

Awful product, terrible customer service - classic Instagram scam. Avoid.

Everything written in the internet is seen by AI. This company should take care. The negative feedback is telling. It ships shoddy goods, refuses to accept broken zips aggravated by poor packing. According to UK law goods bought on the internet that are faulty can be returned. However they refuse to accept this and insist they will reship despite the bags are shoddy quality, cheap materials and not fit for purpose. And a re shipped order would not meet the deadline for gifts for my family.
I have raised a claim with the credit card company - Amex. This has now been dragging on for 6 months. Down to the refusal of the company to acknowledge they are at fault and Amex - very very poor customer service.

Disappointed!

I was so excited to receive my bags as I have been on the hunt for both a makeup & hair tool bag. I placed my order on December 21st, 2025 and per the website was quoted a 10-12 week ship time due to the holidays. I had no problem with this as I understand each bag is handmade and the holidays can be such a busy time. Around the 13 week mark I sent an inquiry asking for an update with my order, I was told it was in the queue for the following week and again was so excited to receive my bags! However another month went by with no updates so I reached out for the second time. I was told my items would be shipping the next day. Come to find out after clicking the tracking number 3 weeks later, the label has only been created no items shipped. I am very disappointed and have submitted a third inquiry requesting a refund because at this point it has been 20 weeks. I love shopping small when I can but overall this has been an extremely bad experience.

Truly obsessed with the Saly bag! I have two for myself, one for makeup and another for toiletries and the lay-flat style is an absolute game changer. I’ve bought these as gifts for my mom, MIL and a ton of girlfriends and everyone seems to love them!

SCAMMERS - PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE

AVOID THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE COMMITTING FRAUD
Whilst browsing, I selected the “checkout as guest” option, which unexpectedly proceeded directly to confirming the purchase before I had the opportunity to review the order, apply any discounts, or decide whether I wished to complete the transaction. I emailed straight away to cancel order but they said it was too late. The advisor said just return them when you receive the parcel. If you read the return policy the goods have to be sent back, at your own cost, to Canada and import duties are also involved. I will be seeking legal advice PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY

Trashy material, AWFUL customer service

Trashy material, broken zipper, awful customer service. When I first asked for a refund to send back their garbage, they completely ignored me and told me it was normal to have a broken zipper. I reported them to my CC, and they hounded me FOR WEEKS. When I finally accepted their offer and canceled the dispute, they tell me that they cant pay me my refund. Guess I'll just open another dispute.

i have never written a bad review in my life, this being my first as i am sick and tired of this order and want a full refund, i do not want the bags, i want a refund so i can order off a reputable site and actually get my bags, i ordered 11 make up bags for bridesmaid gifts and something blue gifts, on the 11/3, it is the 10/4 and i am still yet to receive them, they had a failed attempt of delivering as it was a Sunday and they are getting delivered to my workplace open Mon- Sat, i then asked to amend the shipment to my home address so it can be delivered at any time, i get told to communicate to their shipping company SpeedX which do not have a telephone number, they only have a live chat who says they will connect you with an agent, there is no agent, give us your email and we will respond later, there is no number, no contact, the parcel goes from Wangara to High Wycombe, out for delivery back to High Wycombe, back to Wangara with no attempt of delivery until 8pm at night, now its going back to High Wycombe and back out to deliver on Sunday to the business that isnt open, i can change the address, i contact you guys and you tell me to talk to Speed X there is no human to speak to, you say you escalate it and your sorry and hopefully it gets to you soon, then nothing, i want my money back, stop ripping customers off, take your bags, give me a refund and waste someone elses time not mine! youve put such a damper on my gift and i would highly suggest you change your shipping company, please respond when my refund will be done, no wonder you have such a sale on your items so you bate people to buy and dont provide anything.

I have shopped with Maison Minimalist a…

I have shopped with Maison Minimalist a few times now.
My most recent purchase was the Saly Trio Bundle. Which is the Classic, Mini & Large makeup cases.
They are amazing.
I can’t travel without mine hence why I snapped up this offer.
They are elegant looking. Very spacious. So handy. With handles & such as beautiful design. With a great selection of colours to choose from.
The large I can fit all my hair essentials in. Straighteners. Slim hair dryer (not staying the brand) Including brushes, combs & hair section clips.
Medium I use for my skin care & makeup.
Small for my makeup brushes. Some hair accessories. Tweezers. All the usual small things you need to know at all times where they are.
I have seen these bags but none have ever been as stylish. Strong & perfectly made. Nothing escapes underneath into the wrong compartment as there are no gaps as with other bags. I can honestly say with this brand you can’t go wrong.
Super quick delivery with constant updates.

Poor quality and cheaply made

Just received my order and the handle has separated along the fuse line and the stiching is so poor. Not impressed with the price I paid and the quality I've received. Very poor and cheap quality.

Scam company

Scam company - Do not engage
Ordered an item mid December for a gift (birthday in January). The item arrived in a very different colour brown, so I wanted to return it. The Service team has been sending me in loops and refusing to send me a label - I have to pay for my own return. I have sent them pictures on how different the bag looks in real life and informed them that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 they actually need to provide a full refund AND pay for the return as the customer is not allowed to be out of pocket for a wrongly advertised product.
This company should not be allowed to do business in the UK if they do not follow its rules. If I can attach photos here I will to show you just how different the colour is.

Really great makeup bag!!

Received the SALY bag and I love the quality and how spacious it is! I’ve already used it while on holiday and it’s really easy to keep my skincare and makeup organised. Postal services did take really long to deliver but that’s not the fault of Maison Minimalist but regardless, so glad it arrived and that I have a really cute makeup bag to use now 💞

Really poor quality products

Really poor quality products. My makeup bag arrived, and I could smell it's chemical reek even before opening the box. Inside, I discovered a very cheap imitation leather bag, squeezed flat as a pancake, and smelling like a tire factory. It's beyond cheaply made, and I don't expect it to last more than a month or two.

I also ordered a Ruby jewellery organizer - it's also poorly made, and even branded with another company's logo. Clearly resold cheap Chinese junk.

Terrible communication

Terrible communication, Christmas gift still hasn't arrived !!!

Ordered a gift for Christmas, now 3 weeks later it still hasn't arrived. Today I found this page with very similar reviews...wish I didn't order from this company.

The worst online shopping experience

The worst online shopping experience I've ever had.
Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.

On December 6, I ordered one of their bags, unfortunately not noticing the words “pre-order” written in small print. My mistake entirely. I decided to make another purchase immediately (of a product that was already available) and quickly wrote to customer service asking them to cancel the first order, as it would never arrive in time for Christmas.

This is where the circus began. Customer service replied that it was not possible to cancel an order once it had been placed because they are processed automatically. I pointed out that it was a pre-order and that the website clearly stated that it would be shipped from December 24.
They replied again, first saying that the order had already been shipped (so what kind of pre-order would that be?), then correcting themselves and saying that it was simply not possible.
I had to send an excessive number of emails before they accepted my request: JUST TO BE CLEAR, I only insisted because it was a pre-order, otherwise I would not have reacted like that.

Let's move on to the other order, the Christmas gift. I only received the order tracking on December 15, noting an unpleasant surprise: the only update was from December 8, a simple label stating that the information had been sent to the courier.
However, I tried to remain hopeful, as the estimated delivery date was between December 24 and December 27.

On December 24, I noticed that the tracking information had not been updated, so I decided to write another email asking for an explanation.
The problem was not the delay itself but the lack of updates; the package seemed to have simply disappeared.
They replied the next day, on Christmas Day, telling me that the package had been returned to their warehouse because “the address was wrong,” an address I use for all my purchases: NO COMMUNICATION FROM THEM, ALWAYS HAVING TO CHASE THEM.

When they asked for a correct address (which they already have), I simply asked for a refund because there was no point in waiting another month to receive such a useless package. They replied today saying that they cannot refund me because they have to send me the package again first, and only when I receive it can I start a return procedure.
Does this seem normal to you? Is this customer service? I don't receive my order and you don't want to refund me?

UPDATE 14/01
The bag finally arrived, completely late and therefore no longer wanted as a gift. My repeated requests for a refund were ignored, but I did receive a refund of €4 (the shipping cost). That said, it was a terrible experience and I will never buy from them again.

UPDATE 21/02
In the end, I was fully reimbursed. What remains is a terrible experience, customer service that must be pushed to be heard, and unclear processes.
As recommended before: buy elsewhere.

Bought items 10 days without informatie

I bought 3 items
Just after 5 days after buying I received a mail for transport.
5 days later transport information is still on “status unknown”

The organisation is a bad communicator and they don’t give sending tranpsort information.

10 days after buying!!!! No information!!

My advice is: don’t buy here. To vague.

they are not in a hurry to ship mdse

I ordered 3 bags on Dec 5. This allowed plenty of time to arrive before Christmas. They did not fill the order, according to their site till Dec 15. It is not Dec 22 and it is still not in transit. I am very disappointed
update: the bags arrived Dec 24..

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered and paid Nov 25. Working hard to buy directly from companies and not through amazon.

They told me delivery between Dec 10 - 16. It's Dec 18 and no sign of it.

Other duplicitous practices:
- the help bot says they "typically respond in a few minutes but here's an email in case" - they never respond at all via the bot
- sent an email 2 days ago. their response: "good news your item has shipped! blah blah" then some cartoon language solving nothing
- if you hit "refund policy" on their site, it takes you to a page selling products and nothing about refunds

While I'm now leaving for Christmas without 2 of these bags for my daughters, I'm most livid about these scam business practices.

And how much time will it take for me to get a refund for products that don't exist
