They advertised my commercial building and had a great prospect within a week and we signed heads of terms a week later. Spoke with a very rude arrogant lady on reception requesting a viewing. Still unable to get a viewing despite being told " an agent" will be in touch to arrange.

Note to Maggs and Allen and its employees, you do not own the properties, you simply advertise them for your clients. Take a customer service course.

Awful! What has happened to this company! None of the staff I spoke to had any clue about lettings yet they claim on their website to be regulated members of the association of lettings agents. Shocked to be then told by staff that there was no actual members working at maggs and Allen any longer. Nobody in management would take my call and I assume they have call display as wouldn't take my calls until I withheld my phone number.

My late father used to know the actual owner of the company Peter Maggs, and spoke highly of them. Cleary things have changed for the worse and I would definitely not recommend anyone use them. Absolutely disappointing.

I called their office on the phone to enquire about some surveying work. Surveyor was extremely rude and dismissive, made disparaging comments in relation to my property such as 'you won't find a surveyor who will do this work for you'. I was amazed by his unprofessionalism as not only was this disrespectful but it was untrue

Maggs & Allen surveyed a Grade II* listed Georgian residential building at my request and I couldn't be more satisfied with their report. Thorough, explained in lay terms, and had great recommendations of steps to go through before exchanging on the property. They also called to follow up—to explain anything I needed clarifying, and to provide some honest, impartial advice. I would highly recommend them, and use them again in a heartbeat.

I used Maggs and Allen to have a survey conducted on a property I'm in the process of buying. Georgia was very professional and helpful and booked me in at short notice. She recommended products based on her understanding of the property and my needs and I went ahead with a Major Defects Survey.

Scott conducted my survey and was available very promptly after it was issued to answer any questions I had. He was very professional, patient with the number of questions I was asking and provided advice and support based on his experience. He explained his reasoning behind his comments when I queried them and even went the extra mile, offering to review additional documents if I was able to obtain any. Alas, there were no documents available from my seller but Scott was still happy to give me his time and answer my never-ending queries thoroughly and with wisdom. Thank you so much for your help!

Post-purchase update: my roof was found to be leaking and, after returning to the property to inspect, Scott agreed he missed this in his survey. He apologised without reserve and explained they have liability for this sort of thing. He said he’d go back to his office and will respond to my complaint. I received a formal response to my complaint a few days before Christmas claiming that everything was in my survey. After having my fill of solicitors after the conveyancing and reading sad stories about how the government’s independent surveyor adjudication service had proved to be inadequate for others (and taking into consideration that Maggs and Allen have more money than I do!), I decided legal dispute resolution wasn’t an avenue to be explored. I’m left with a survey that I can’t trust, money down for the survey and money down for the unanticipated costs I need to outlay to get my roof fixed (and buckets aplenty!!). If you want a surveyor that will do a decent job and take responsibility if they’re found to be at fault, don’t go to Maggs and Allen.

Our experience with the leading surveyor at this company was distressing.
Whilst in our loft he cracked our kitchen ceiling below. When I pointed out to him what he had happened he made no comment and walked away.
When I emailed him he refused to put right the damage in any way and his arrogant attitude to me was upsetting.
When we allow these people into our homes they should have respect for us and none was shown here.
Unfortunately, I had to put one star as really none were deserved by this person who lacked professionalism when dealing with someone who simply wanted some understanding after an unfortunate mishap, which could have been discussed in a decent manner.

Five star review for a five star survey. Refreshing to have a building survey that is full of meat and little legal stuff. Attention to detail was excellent and enabled me to confidently make informed decisions. Am using them again.
