We’re absolutely delighted with our new blinds from Lister Blinds & Shutters. The team were friendly, professional and helpful throughout, from choosing the right style to the final installation. The blinds look fantastic, fit perfectly and have completely transformed our rooms. Everything was left clean and tidy, and the attention to detail was excellent. We would happily recommend Lister Blinds & Shutters to anyone looking for quality products and reliable local service.

Please, please, please read the reviews and avoid this company at all costs! Last year we paid a deposit for a full house of blinds and we were promised a 12 week turnaround. We were then told installation dates that never happened. After multiple phone calls and email of lie after lie, months and months later we still didn't have any blinds. I have since learnt from talking to other fitters and companies, that Lister Blinds are absolutely awful and do this to most people. Please go to Shutterly Fabulous who we had a fantastic experience with (they actually supply John Lewis and even gave us a great discount which covered over and beyond the lost deposit to Lister Blinds). Lister Blinds are absolute crooks. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

The most unprofessional and deceitful company I have ever come across.
They have missed countless fitting dates over the last 2 months, just not turned up when they said they would. So we are still without shutters, despite initially contacting this company ELEVEN months ago. Excuses vary from “complex shutter design”, delays in shipping, fitters not available, the only excuse they haven’t used is alien invasion. I am due to give birth any day and don’t have a room for my baby to sleep in thanks to these time wasters. They pride themselves on being a “family business”, yet treat their customers like this. It’s beyond shocking. Avoiding calls, emails, messages. Probably because they are embarrassed, most likely because they never intended on fulfilling our order in the first place.
Please avoid this company at all costs for the sake of your own sanity.

I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this company.

We ordered bespoke shutters after a site visit in September 2025 and paid a deposit of around £3,000. The original fitting date was 12 December 2025.

No shutters were fitted.

Further fitting dates were then booked and missed, including 22 January 2026, 20 February 2026, 19 March 2026, and 15 May 2026. After months of delay, we still had no shutters, no installation, and no voluntary refund.

We sent more than 20 chasing emails and made nearly 40 phone calls. Calls and emails were repeatedly ignored or met with no constructive response. We also asked for basic proof that the shutters had actually been ordered, shipped, manufactured, or were being held in stock. No satisfactory proof was provided.

Eventually, we had to go through our bank to recover the deposit because the company would not return it voluntarily.

There are also serious concerns about the company identity and paperwork. The quote/invoice used the name “Lister Blinds & Shutters”, gave Company Number 13819658, and stated VAT Number GB 413 843 507. Based on Companies House and the GOV.UK VAT checker, those details appear to relate to different corporate identities. That made it unclear who we were actually contracting with and who had received our money.

Public records also show a concerning pattern of similarly named Lister Blinds / Lister Blinds & Shutters companies, company name changes, overdue accounts, and a previous company trading as Lister Blinds & Shutters entering liquidation. In my opinion, consumers should check the company number, VAT number, director history, accounts status and insolvency history very carefully before paying anything upfront.

This was not a minor delay. It was months of missed appointments, ignored calls and emails, no proper proof of order/shipping/stock, no voluntary refund, and significant household stress and disruption.

In my opinion, this is a completely disreputable way to treat customers.

Avoid.

Arranged for someone to come to the house to discuss blind options, to measure up and to give an estimate cost. We arranged for them to come on a Friday at 1.30hrs. At 1.35hrs I had a message to state they were running late and as soon as he was on his way he would contact us. At 2.35hrs I sent a message asking if they had an approximate time of arrival, nobody responded. At 3pm - 1 and a half hours after the appointment i sent a message asking them not to come as we had a further appointment at 4pm. Nobody has responded, no apology, no nothing. If they cannot be relied on to give a quote I don’t think you can rely on them to do the job

You ring, and ring, no answer, so I've taken my business elsewhere

Ordered a curtain rail which they wanted to charge £200 for. I got 4 bits of metal joined together which wouldn’t run smoothly. Drilled a load of holes in my ceiling, never came back to sort it out… had an email to say they would make contact and they never once initiated contact. Go to Dunelm, they are so professional in comparison they have measured up for curtains and rails through the ground floor and they will be hung in less time than it takes this company to reply to an email.

I ordered shutters back in October ‘23 and am still waiting in June ‘24.
I’ve never had a call or an apology, instead a vacuum of no contact and excuses.
Paul won’t answer the phone, I’d like to say utterly embarrassed but unlikely as he genuinely doesn’t care at all.
I’ve asked for a refund, they have refused.
What would you call someone who takes your money and doesn’t give you what you’ve paid for?!?
