Very bad experience at Lawstop. Represented by them up to 2024 following a transfer from the Brighton branch which had my case open since 2023 with one of their fee earners then was passed on to another one, stalled for over a year by a third one and then passed on to a fourth fee earner in Hammersmith which closed my case down and Lawstop never reopened it.
Since December 2024 and then early 2025 as a rough sleeper when I filled a new entry application form via the new applicants delegate which reassured me to reopen my case quicker since I was a previous existing client, Lawstop persistently claimed to have no capacity for housing care / homelessness matters however they are to date accepting right in front of me new housing applicants but will not even hand me a form to be considered. All very discriminatory and random and bottom line they do not care about their clients or homeless, vulnerable adults with disabilities but just to immorally make legal aid easy money as they can.
The head of housing I was referred to by the head of Human Resources in January 2026 first said to be willing to look into my case but then, as I requested my up to date case file for them, they changed their version and told the head of human resources they could not help me and this without even knowing what my case is about as they never took a look at my files. The head of housing claimed they are not getting paid but would not accept my legal aid live certificate transfer or re-apply for a new certificate for me. For them to get paid they have to apply for it as this firm exclusively work on legal aid basis, so claiming they are not getting paid is a profanity as they have to apply to get paid to the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) in the first place and my case has merits as was already previously evaluated by the LAA. The head of housing claimed they do not work for the LAA… they are so, so rude and liars as they though gets paid only via legal aid at Lawstop so obviously they have got to have dealings with the LAA.
In 2023 Lawstop Brighton got a huge private payout from RBKC Council for settling my homelessness matter out of court however they abandoned me living across loads of hotels and communities as well rough sleeping to then close my case down and now the new applications delegate claimed I am the problem.
Like the front desk reception worker stated if they truly had no capacity for housing matters since early 2025 they would not be making any money as would be one whole year they do not take even a new client in! So they are obviously lying because they do not care about their clients as myself whether we live or die in sufferance. Appalling service from whoever is at the top managing Lawstop and glad if others had a good service from them but that was not my case. I was discriminated against, my experience with them since passed on to the third case worker was awful as they also lied to me that were progressing my matter when they were not. Lawstop only brought me more rough sleeping and extreme sufferance to date not to count how negatively their misleading and dishonest ways affected my mental and physical health how they treated me, so rude, unprofessional and uncaring. If I could I would let them close down!

These positive reviews are very dubious. They have a high turn over of staff just vanishing. They lose evidence, do not follow instructions, do not offer sympathy or understanding and co- erce clients. We found them to be disorganised, unhelpful and dangerous. Maybe there are some good eggs but the egg we had a female solicitor we can't name just yet was appalling. She forgot details, she miswrote legal documents then pushed for deadlines, she routinely left things to the very last minute to sign off on, she ignored credible evidence to the point we were left wondering who is she working for? Us or the other side. She abandoned the case several times, then fixated over tiny matters whilst never addressing her own shocking errors in drafting. She mischaracterised instructions and gave appalling advice that lacked sense. She disclosed confidential information to the other side. How this person goes home and lives with themselves whilst destroying lives is beyond us. Just watch after this review they'll be a flurry of 5 stars to bury this one. Don't trust the 5 stars. Don't use them. Read the bad reviews.

I can’t recommend Lawstop enough. I had a pervious terrible experience with a firm of SEN solicitors who really knocked my faith in the professional support available to parents like myself, who were desperate and exhausted with the process of SEN needs assessment, obtaining an EHCP, various tribunals and then trying to get the specified provision implemented.
Bruna Geada was incredible, she supported and advised me throughout the working document process. She was highly responsive, understanding and conscientious, keeping me informed and chasing the local authority throughout. Bruna assisted with obtaining additional professional reports and drafting multiple amendments to the various versions of my daughter’s EHCP working document. Through Bruna’s hard work and tenacity, we got all of the amendments I wanted for my daughter included in her EHCP. I felt like my faith had been restored and a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I am incredibly grateful to Bruna and Lawstop for their hard work, professionalism and the result achieved.

7Whatever you do however much you need help please do not use this firm. Do not. They manage to lose evidence, side with your opponent, they manage to over ride your concerns and be little your opinions, the attitude is you are on legal aid take whatever we throw at you be grateful. Zero respect for the client, no complaints process, no in house supervisor as junior lawyers say what they want, make devastating errors then gas light and deflect. Please do not.
In response to filing a complaint: a company that belittles, over rides and disrespects is not one to hope for an impartial review from. Its to be noted that often slap dash views were given on points of law, often incorrect, the most disturbing being the improper advice leaving one exposed and at risk to any opposition arguments. If the lawyers here are so unhappy they should leave bit not take their grievances out on clients . Legal aid work should be done with passion and dedication because its the most vulnerable asking for help, not with disdain and disregard . There's very much a culture of don't waste legal aid funds asking questions, or seeking to actually fight your case.Take the quickest solution and be done with it. Repeating: please do not use them. And ignore their cut and paste reply below. If you've been burned go to the SRA. Go to an ombudsman.Get decent legal advice. Ask to see your files. Do not accept the incompetence.

The service and support I received from Lawstop, particularly from Bruna, was exemplary.

My son has just been granted an EHCP following 1.5 years of an appeal process. Lawstop were the only company who took on our case via legal aid.

Bruna was fantastic throughout. Always kept me informed and replied to my E-mails and questions very quickly.

I truly felt that Bruna and Lawstop were on our side throughout this stressful process. Championing us throughout the whole process and encouraging us to keep going.

I cannot fault the service I received from Bruna and Lawstop. It was excellent and very professional. I could tell they were definitely not 'in it for the money' but have a genuine desire to help and care.

The best company have come across they are the best among the best

LawStop, especially Bruna, has helped change my daughters life! Thanks to them we won our tribunal, not only getting the specialist independent education setting we wanted, but also getting all the correct levels of therapies and support. It was a long hard process (over a year) and one that we know we couldn't have got through without Bruna and the education team.

We went to LawStop when the LA issued my daughter with a completely inadequate EHCP. Bruna was amazing from the off, she was polite, calm, understanding and determined! She helped us remember how valid our fight was, and helped us believe it was achievable.

It was such a relief to leave everything to Bruna to deal with, she kept us updated throughout, sending regular emails and arranging video calls when needed. She stuck to all deadlines and made sure we had everything we possibly needed, she even arranged for an up to date private SALT report to be done!

Every time we spoke to Bruna we felt heard, she reassured us and listened to what we wanted. She was completely committed and really took the time to understand our daughter, which was important for making sure we could get her the best possible support.

Nothing was too much trouble, not even when we changed the appeal to include section I! Due to disabilities, I needed my mum present during important calls, this wasn't a problem to Bruna and she made sure my mum could be there as a supporter for me during the tribunal too.

The tribunal prep Bruna did was fantastic, the document she produced made it so easy for us at the tribunal to follow along and answer any points correctly. On the day we felt prepared and ready, thanks to the previous few days prep we had with Bruna.

We definitely got the best outcome possible, and we cannot thank Bruna or the rest of LawStop enough.
