In the past few years, I have been referred to Law Society for 2 entirely separate and unrelated matters - the first of which I went in blindly, never having experienced the Law Society before and having complete blind faith that they would point me in the right direction, and naively persevered with all the dead leads they gave me for way too long (until finally my matter was "out of time". The complete and utter uselessness of their service should have been glaringly obvious after 10 or so dead leads (to solicitors who couldn't or wouldn't help me) but for some reason I kept trying, thinking I'd just been unlucky. BUT NO. 8 MONTHS LATER.... I'm STILL phoning and emailing endless lists of solicitors [near me who specialise in the relevant areas of law and take legal aid, or so I'm told] and getting shunned by them. And believe me, this isn't because I don't have a leg to stand on in this case. I absolutely have a case. There is something much more amok here and I am increasingly getting the feeling it's sinister.
The second matter just came up more recently (and my case might even be stronger on this one) - and yet again, I was referred to the Law Society (all fingers point straight there for some reason - given my experience, I don't see why they come so highly recommended when half the time they misinform you and refer you to solicitors don't provide the services you need). Anyway, back to the drawing board, I earnestly set about calling the numbers given, yet again. I figured, since this was a different matter, and a different area of law, I might have a different experience. BUT NO. Stunningly, it was just as bad this time. And now I knew for sure that it wasn't because of my case that I was having this experience. It wasn't in any way caused by the specifics involved. THIS WAS ACROSS THE BOARD WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN ANY CASE. It's been an eye opener, and a very jarring one at that. I was totally naive to the reality before. I thought we lived in a just society, or at least one which strives for justice, even if it often missed the mark. I thought that solicitors were passionate people who love nothing more than to fight for the underdog, the weak, the disadvantaged, the vulnerable. I was wrong. And I have to say this awakening has affected my mental health and my outlook on the world deeply. I find myself depressed and extremely demotivated at this new knowledge I am privy to. I don't quite know what to do with it. But my feeling is that we the people shouldn't accept this reality anymore.

We had been advised to contact the Law Society from citizen advice to ask for legal advice and pro bono lawyers. However, the lady over the phone wasn't helpful and only give us the contact of the lawyers that don't provide those services.
We are back at square one.

Yeah, woman manning the switchboard and reception at TLS and who TLS want customers/client's to rate after they finish talking to you listen to a radio prog on BBC World Service called Business Daily, an episode called 'The club teaching women to say 'no' at work', went out 21/06/2022. It's insightful young women. Then when you've listened to it tell those up there in the rarified atmosphere of the TLS universe to get some blokes doing telephone, customer/client facing, reception, customer service switchboard work too. It's the 21st century so it shouldn't just be women manning the phones in that anachronistic, patrician, inaccessible, dinosaur of an organisation. In the UK women and men are equal now yuh know!!!

Anyone having any issues send your complaints to the ccc website and dpp and every media. I have seen the reviews. And been a victim of the commissioner looking after her friends for favouritism which is the same as taking money for protection.
Qld Labor is guilty and is the law society.

The law society is supposed to help both legal practitioner and the public .

The problem is there is no help for the public in the moment of stress
And the scaremongering they created amongst solicitor in the name of money laundering , is that instead of giving the right advice , they just give their personal views

If there are laws , then they must be respected
The interpretation of laws by their advisor , then indicating that the solicitor must her common sens … what if you fall into a solicitor who doesn’t use her common sens which was my case ..

Have contacted them before - and here, on another occasion - there was no response even.
Is there even a Law Society?
Read the papers this morning - a lot of corruption - it tells me if there is a law society in this country - they're not very well of mind.

Absolutely useless service!! There is no service. I was looking for a mental health medical negligence solicitor, I had rung around a few law firms and got nowhere and had been referred to the Law Society. I rang them hoping they might be able to point me in the right direction but they have an automated message advising that their legal directory is not accessible because due to Covid their staff are not in the office.

Most services have resumed to normal but this lot? Still playing the Covid card. They may as well not exist. Useless amateurs.

Did you know the Law Society is the also the SRA?...

Law Society, where do I start, these are those people in the elite of this society that sit comfortable in their office chairs, drive around in their fancy cars, have their luxurious holidays all because they rip off the working man that works 5-7 days a week to provide for their family.

Pure "alleged" corruption in the Law society by the' Higher authority, solicitors fees are extortionate because they are all one. If you have a problem they have their backs and always turn a blind eye to it. These thugs do not deserve a rating at all but 1* review is the best I could give. I lost my home, my security and got a criminal record by the corrupt police. I had a terrible experience of Two dodgy solicitors from the west Midlands, who were supported by the SRA/Law Society. I considered suicide after the suppression and oppression of many years of non-existent service from the Law society and failure to act on many legitimate complaints of fraud.

I found myself searching for ways to get my voice listened too, I joined the many who had similar experience to myself in the fight against the dodgy government bodies by being part of UK Justice is broken (the petition can be found by using search engines) I suggest any one with similar experience joins the group immediately. Action from many people speaks volumes, the fact disgruntled solicitors are joining the petition makes it all the more worth doing, stand up and be counted without fear of being bullied from the cowardly law society and other elite people and join UK justice today with the support of nominated bodies to help fight the corruption from this scum who will face possible prison sentences once the public gain advantage over the bodies who do not deserve your trust and hard earned cash for a corrupt service provided. We cannot fight alone because of fear of victimisation, bullying, police corruption and furthermore, a life of hell from these corrupt, judge’s MP’s, police Lawyers, SRA, Law society, Ombudsman, land registry and court officials, and many more not mentioned I’m afraid. They keep referring us to this organisation to find us a solicitor but it's virtually impossible to find a solicitor that can take up your case. I don't understand why so many are allowed to advertise as they are, including claiming they do no win no fee, when in actual fact they demand a fee, and so on. The lack of justice in society starts with non-existence of solicitors to even take up your case. Makes me wonder what all these solicitors want, only mickey mouse cases where the other side admits it all or doesn't turn up? Where are these solicitors that put up a fight for you, they don't seem to exist anymore and seem reluctant to really tell you how to get something done especially if you're taking on an organisation that is lawyer heavy. Seems to me lawyers only want to represent large wealthy organisations nowadays.

A SERIOUS QUESTION TO HONEST UK SOLICITORS/BARRISTERS/ LAWYERS. IF YOU SUPPORT THE SRA/LAW SOCIETY, PLEASE ASK YOURSELF, ARE YOU FUNDING THEM COVERING UP THE CORRUPTION OF AN OPPOSING SOLICITOR WHO IS OUT TO DENY YOUR CLIENT THE TRUTH & JUSTICE THEY DESERVE? Ive just noticed that ive been blocked by the law society on Twitter!!! Could the reason be because i've hit a nerve and spoke the truth which is more than they can do?? Judging by the SRA reviews on here, It would appear that the SRA are nothing but a sham organisation working for the law society to defend corrupt solicitors. IF THIS IS THE CASE, SHAME ON THE LAW SOCIETY/SRA FOR UNDERMINING BRITISH JUSTICE ON A DAILY BASIS. YOU ALL NEED PROSECUTING AND CUSTODIAL SENTENCES HANDED OUT ...YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW !!!!!

I too have complained about the SRA inability to weed out white collar fraudsters from Irwin Mitchell solicitors who have perverted the course of justice with perjury and wide spread evidence concealment deceiving the court.

The Law Society and all its *apparent* regulators are as bent as it comes and certainly do NOT serve the few who need protection the most. The law society, like ALL of the ombudsmans servcies etc and even CAB have been bought and paid off making them completly unwilling to do the job, we the taxpayers, fund through the nose for.
The reviews online for all of them are horrendous and explains why we are in such a mess as a nation. We as in the 99% throttled by the 1%. It stinks of the dirty tricks of medievel society in Britain in their war on the peasants. Time for a revolt.

The law society is supposed to give out honest advice. Its list of lega aid solicitors is as worthlessas its own pompous self. After calling 10, the average answer is *we dont do legal aid* * havent done for months* etc grrrrrr It really is every man for himself.
