A very good alternatve to Spotify. Allows u to keep all the music u want in one place. I share my favourite playlist with my friends (or at least those who have a common music taste).

Music all the way! It was a place for me to discover some more of the creators and styles of the electronic music I love :)

Thanks to this website I've discovered dozens of artists and bands! The ideas of scrobbling and charts are brilliant! Honestly, I've wasted weeks to scrobble my favourite bands and artists=)

As a bit of a chart geek I love being able to use Last.fm to compile data about my listening activity (weekly, monthly, all-time charts etc.) and being able to see what other people are listening to and have recommendations made to me are very useful tools too. Last.fm scrobbling is very easy to set up and is supported by pretty much every music player and streaming service. I find the desktop application very good for using with iTunes on my PC, and Spotify has Last.fm scrobbling integrated into both its desktop and mobile applications - both work flawlessly in my experience. More recently though, I've been listening to music through Google Play, and I find that the scrobbling extension on the Chrome browser works very well as well. For Android mobile users there are a number of apps that do a decent job of catching your music plays, with varying results. I find the Wail Beta app works best for my Android phone, which works with the native music app as well as the Google Play Music app.

My problem with last.fm however is with the actual website itself. Ever since they released the Beta version last year I've found myself using it less and less. The user interface is just not intuitive at all, the site is always slow to respond whether you're accessing it on a mobile device or on a desktop PC, and the developers are extremely slow at implementing new features. I use the word "new" loosely as I actually refer to implementing old features that haven't been available since the Beta release i.e. the music manager. Even the simple function of uploading artist images took months to implement.

I will always continue to scrobble the music I listen to, because I happen to like gathering useless information like that, but I hope the developers can work on improving the current site so that it can be as good as it once was.

I've always loved Last.fm. Best way to discover new music and see patterns and statistics about my music tastes.

Jeg har brugt last.fm og deres audioscrobbler et års tid - det har været en oplevelse - mine ører er blevet større ;)
Det bedste ved last.fm er at de er unikke. Der findes efterhånden mange udmærkede steder hvor man kan streame al den musik man har lyst til. Men der er mig bekendt intet andet sted, hvor man i den grad kan lytte til musik, man ikke anede man havde lyst til. Ja som man end ikke anede eksisterede, og hvis eksistens men aldrig ville have fundet frem til uden last.fm.
Skal man have have udvidet sin musikhorizont er last.fm stedet.
For et par og tyve kroner om måneden kan man lytte til ikke lige det man har lyst til men lige det man ikke vidste man havde lyst til. Det er pengene værd. Men også uden at betale en øre kan man stadig finde frem til oceaner af ukendte musikhave man kunne tænke sig at surfe på.
Grundstenen i last.fm er audioscrobbler en lille soft-ting (kan tilføjes til et væld af musikafspillere og streaming software - også fx Spotify), som fortæller last.fm hvad du går og lytter. Ved hjælp af den viden kan last.fm finde frem til din "musiksmag" og foreslå andre numre i samme stil krydse det med hvad andre der lytter til den slags musik, den kunstner, den genre også lytter til osv.
Man frygter ved første bekendtskab at at det bare bliver mere af det samme - det gør det ikke.
Jeg er endt med en backlog så lang af kunstnere og numre/værker, som jeg aldrig før har hørt eller hørt om, men som jeg ønsker at købe, lån, streame, vide mere om og høre mere af.

Det er også et plus at wimp kan det ... efter Jeg har skiftet fra TDC til Telenor får jeg bedre end TDC Play ... ved godt wimp koster

Also a plus about wimp can scrobble ... after shifting to Telenor from TDC ... I'll get a better player than TDC play ... wimp (telenor) scrobbles on last fm

Jeg bruger Last.fm og via Sonos og det fungere bare fantastisk. Har aldrig hørt så meget musik som efter jeg er begyndt at bruge Last.fm
Og så er deres betaling og former særdeles rimelige, ja nærmest billigt.

Jeg har været med lige fra det hed Audioscrobbler og var hosted på CCCP. Det er bare super duper, fed idé og velgennemført.
