BAD PLACE!! the rooms where full of insects also the showers had a SPIDER laying eggs! It was cold and raining they still made us SWIM in the cold river! the food was just worse it tased like mouldy baby food!! the staff where rude to us and didn't even put our harness on the right way!!!! the bed sheets had blood stains on them! do not come here!!

A great trip to Kingswood. All the children loved the experience of participating in a range of activities which built on their confidence, resilience and team-building skills. The staff were excellent throughout our stay - really engaging and accommodating to particular needs of certain children.
Can't wait to come again next year!

The staff i talked to were really nice and were just depressed from the food and the under-mininimum wage pay, so i dont blame them for their misery.
Food was SO bland no one from my school ate it, even 5 packets of pepper added no flavour. Mac and cheese had no cheese. Sausages tasted like pork flavoured water. The teachers only ate toast and pot noodles. Staff told us they couldnt cope with the food in the diner and often ordered mcdonalds instead. Our school ended up doing this also as we were left hungry. (only good thing is they have halal options)

Facilities were quite dirty and the room smelt of pee. Mattresses, duvets ect were dirty and the floor was so sticky that i had to walk around in flip flops the whole time. Mattresses very hard which i didnt mind but i know others did.

Activities were alright, the 3g swing and the zip wire are good, but the rest are nothing special and rely on students to do most of the work.

At first i was scared of seeming ungrateful, as school and my parents spent money on the trip, but seeing the rest of the reviews i realised it wasnt only me.

Just back from a GCSE / A Level weekend for Geography - great team at the centre who will bend over backwards to help. The centre itself is a little dated and needs some TLC, but for what it is used for it is great. There have been some huge improvements recently so hopefully these will continue into the future. Due to current economic circumstances breakfast was continental on the weekend mornings, during the week though it was a cooked meal. Evening food was good. We will use the centre again as we know how dedicated and hard working the team are.

Came here on a school trip ( in year 12, so we were 16 and 17) we were treated like 6 year olds. The staff there were so rude and sarcastic towards us. I said i couldn’t do something and got told “tough, work it out”. The rooms were horrible, stains on the sheets, food was horrendous tasted like cardboard and limited options. We had to do chants that even young kids around us didn’t want to do. We got told we had to do mini olympics and one of the activities were the instructors making us take our shoes off and then them throwing them around the room randomly and made us go find them? The whole trip was awful and i would not recommend to anyone even young kids. The place itself is so dirty and the sheets smelt so bad we didn’t even put them on we put towels on top of the mattress and covered the pillows with our clothes. Bugs found in our rooms and a lot of us came back ill and couldn’t go in to school the day after.

Rooms are disgusting, activities are boring and staff are very sarcastic. Awful and boring experience.

Ellie, Yvonne , Nathan and the team were amazing and as welcoming as always. Dealt with all questions efficiently and professionally.
The children were buzzing all week. The bus is now silent as we travel home. All asleep.

To begin with, all of the meals were bread. Bread is ok but we don’t want it for every meal.
The dorm was mouldy,revolting and dirty... the toilet wouldn’t even flush, which left a stink in our room. There was no air conditioning and there was a wire to stop us opening the window and it was one of the hottest days ever! The bed creaked every time one of us moved and the mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable. We had sleepless, scary nights and we had to make the beds ourselves and we didn’t know how to do it so we slept without a duvet cover.
Some of the activities were ok but that’s not going to change our opinion. For the rock climbing we had to rely on each other for safety and there was only one instructor and he just stood there until we wanted to come down. The lake was the worse activity plunging into cold,dirty water on a so-called makeshift boat.
We have never been somewhere so bad and we will never return.

I came back last week from a school residential (farmors) it was horrible the rooms temperature was like a sauna the bathrooms were disgusting for the activity’s the kids were responsible for each other’s safety for example when I was doing the rock climbing I had to be anchored to the floor and had to hold the rope for the person who was climbing it didn’t take long for me to realise that me legs were starting to slip so I had to bury my legs in the ground to keep myself stable I held the rope with all of my strength to avoid the person from falling down I began to panic when the rope began to slip from my hands eventually a staff member came to lower the person I looked at my hands and realised that I got a rope burn on my hand.DO NOT RECOMMEND/AVOID-student

They made my day. They were happy and energetic and they made sure that we had a great morning and clearly have the face of customer service.

Any schools considering booking a residential here please reconsider. This company cancelled our booking 10 days before our year 6 children were due to attend even though they were taking extra bookings from us 2 days before.

My review: The food was decent but the dorms were dirty and the shower did not lock. The instructors were kind but we barely had any breaks. In my experience this residential was very bad. Me and my friends had a decent dorm but my other peers had bed bugs and blood stains on sheets. The boys first floor dorms flooded with sewage water and had to be moved into a new dorm block full of ants. The food was repetitive and had chips in every meal even breakfast. We had chicken nuggets twice which was annoying. Although it was bad it wasn’t the teachers fault and I don’t think it was the worst experience I’ve ever had but it was quite horrible. I would not recommend.

Daughter just come back from residential in tears and traumatised by this place. Please do not go! If they have cancelled your trip feel lucky as it would be a waste of money and time. Bugs on beds, some children come back with rashes and disgusting food. No windows in some of the rooms, blood stains on bedsheets and generally dirty. Activities were okay.

If I could give a rating of 0 I would but 1 will have to suffice. My son returned yesterday from a 1 night stay at Kingswood. The dormitories for the kids sleeping were filthy dirty. Hairs on bedsheets and yellow stained sheets - I dread to think what the mattress looked like! Broken locks on the toilets and filthy showers/toilets for them to use. He and his friends barely slept all night with the general filth and neglect that the rooms were in and because of feeling unsafe. The basic food on offer was a plate full of just chips for his evening meal, hardly nutritious for activities all day. Breakfast was better. To round it off there were incidents of bullying and violence from older children of another school towards my son and friends. I believe Kingswood and teachers took seriously from safeguarding point of view and dealt with sufficiently. My son never wants to return, so please avoid at all costs and on that note, do not waste your money as we have done. What should have been an exciting experience for him, turned into a nasty one!

-5 stars. My daughter recently went here for the weekend on a school trip. We were told they would be taking part in all kinds of activities and staying in safari tents. They ended up doing 2 activities and staying in a damp mouldy old building. They had to make their own beds but ran out of sheets when it got to my daughter and her friends so they had to go without and sleep in their clothes on period stained mattresses to keep warm. non of them unpacked or were able to shower as it was so filthy snd disgusting. The food offered to them had them all coming home starving after 2 nights away. Having seen some of the photos they took I can't believe this place is still open. I'm so mad my 12 Yr old was left to stay there, I would have gone and picked her up had I known sooner. It was an expensive trip and if just like to warn all parents not to send their kids.

Showers where soo small, rooms where disgusting, staff not particularly friendly, food was repetitive and the experience wasn’t autism friendly but The activities were good.

Terrible just cancelled my sons residential trip days before he is set to go.
