Price Gouging
The customer service Rep raised the price and tried to change it back when I said no. This company is price gouging in a time like this. We're done with them. The price was raised to $750 and I saw the same item brand new for $150.00 on Northern Tool website.

I bought a generator and decided I didn't need it. I was immediately sent a return code and refunded. The return was made easy!
Buyer beware!
They listed items as instock on their website that have been obsolete and not available anywhere for decades, then sent updates with delayed shipping date estimates i can only assume someone just made up since, again, no suppliers have produced or offered these part new for decades. My payment method was charged within seconds of my placing each of two separate orders, but they've only drug their feet and stalled since. I had to contact them and inquire to finally find out none of the parts I ordered are available. It seems as if they hoped id forget or simply not have time to follow up and they'd get to keep the money. They claim the order has been canceled but im still fighting to actually get a refund. Why take money for parts that haven't existed anywhere for decades? And why charge my account before checking availability, or better yet, actually having the order on hand ready to ship? Why not check and then notify me instead of stalling with fake estimated shipping dates for parts that do not and will never exist? And why wait until I spend my time hassling with customer service after waiting weeks for my parts to finally tell me these parts are no longer available?

Quirky way of doing business.
This is an update to my one star review. They got a little bit better because of the lady that was on the phone and explained the way they do business. I still have not received the product but she was helpful.Their shipping is still snail speed. The website did say it was in stock, two of them. Ordered it, and it sent a message that said it was out of stock. Then I got an email stating that it wouldn't ship for two and a half months. The lady did explain to me that that was just from past issues when they had shipping. That is super misleading. Misleading Transaction
Jack's admittedly failed to acknowledge that they had no part in their inventory, but also that they were not aware whether the part would ever arrive from their sole supplier. Instead of being proactive and contacting their supplier (Dewalt), they assumed they could sit on my order indefinitely without any contact with me regarding the extended timeline. I received an email promising 2-10 days shipping, but was still waiting 30 days later for any action. Several disappointing calls later, when several of Jack's employees were unprofessional, and some would hang up the phone rather than address a customer service issue, I received a call from the operations manager (Herb). After telling Herb about my experience with his business, he acknowledged that this was precisely how they conduct themselves. He was at a loss for words and had no idea how he could remedy the situation. I gave him several options, yet he stated that he would continue operating his business with the same poor professionalism and lack of customer service that had been working for him to this point. Herb then hangs up the phone because accountability is not something in his area of expertise.
Deceptive Business Practices
When you go from time of order - "in stock soon, usually ships within 2-10 days" to order acknowledgement status - "Back Ordered, on order from vendor with expected delivery of 4 weeks", that is very miss-leading. It would be better to state - parts are ordered direct from vendor, delivery subject to part availability and manufacturing lead time.

Bought an AC mini split through Amazon
Bought an AC mini split through Amazon from this company. The add was misleading as it does not clearly state that the system needs to be vacuumed, but has it halfway down the ad. In communication with them they have stated other buyers have had the same issue, so you think they would work to resolve it. Being that they are charging a fee for the device that is equivalent to per-vacuumed system leads the buyer to believe they are getting that. Once I realized that I requested to cancel my order. They said it could not be cancelled, because my request to cancel was in 42 minutes after purchase and they shipped in 41 minutes. You can interpret that how you like but seems very fast and convenient shipping. I suggest avoiding seller if possible.

Do not buy from them. Purchased a generac. Received with huge dent. Outside of box was not dented. Contacted company they accused shipper then kept saying they didn’t get pictures. Finally told us to use suction cup and get dent out ourselves. Then offered 50 dollar credit on a 7,228 generac. Never cared. Then threatened us with seller harassment. Avoid them. Rude. Once they sell you product they are done and don’t care. I should have read reviews first. Huge mistake.
Terrible customer service.
Terrible customer service.. I needed a new generator in a pinch as my previous one would not start and I have an upcoming camping trip in a few days.
I found a Honda EU1000i (the same generator model that died) and the Jacks ad said 2 day delivery on the Amazon listing.
I sent an Amazon message to the seller (Jacks) but decided I'd get a faster answer if I called.
I called Jacks to make sure it was 2-day shipping because I needed it asap and if could not be delivered in time, I'd order elsewhere. I was assured it would be sent via 2-day shipping..
A while later I get a message from the Jacks through the Amazon marketplace saying they cannot guarantee it will be delivered in time and as a matter fact, they highly doubt that it will be.
I tell this rep what the ad stated and what the phone rep told me and they got very rude and unprofessional.
At first they blamed me for not knowing their internal ordering process, then they blamed Amazon even though the item was a shipped and sold by them (Jacks). Amazon had nothing to do with this sale other than providing the listing space for them to sell.
Now I am stuck trying to figure out what to do. I need to purchase a generator and leave a note on my front door to refuse delivery..

Consistently negative experiences
Consistently negative experiences. Recently moved to the area with a Gravely mower. Jack's is the closest dealer but not worth the 30 minute drive each way.
Needed blades so purchased from Jack's. Installed then noiticed two-2" wide strips that weren't being cut on each run. Turns out they had sold me blades for a slightly smaller Gravely Zero Turn. Failure by parts people.
Next, mower needed repair after cutting ten percent of my 3 acres. Called around to see who could fix my mower quickly. Jack's said 2 days so even though further away then some other options, I went to Jack's. A week later I was still waiting because if you don't purchase your mower from them, you're a second class customer and go behind all the customers who purchased their equipment from them but they don't tell you that up front.
Lastly, when I went to pick up my mower, I was informed I might not be responsible for the $338 bill as it might be covered under warranty but they would check and call me back however I needed to pay now. Yup - you guessed it...never heard from Jack's again.

Why would you give me the option to overnight ship if you can’t ship it over night? At least state when I’m ordering that it won’t be for 2-3 days. That defeats the purpose. I paid 2x for shipping what I paid for the part. Customer service rep was rude. Won’t be using them again.
Part on ridiculous back order
Not real happy with these guys right now. Bought an Ironton sprayer from Northern Tool about a year ago. the sprayer wand leaked like crazy this spring and Northern Tool advised me that a replace wand was available through Jacks Small Engines. Ordered the wand in early April 2025 and have received 3 emails stating they're waiting on the part from the manufacturer. Estimated shipping is NOVEMBER 2025 !!! Really ? Only took a couple of hours for them to run my charge card. Not happy right now.
