⭐ 1-Star Review Title:
Misleading Advertising – $200 Vouchers Promised, Then Denied
Review Body:
I recently upgraded my FatCow hosting plan to their Business Plan on July 13, 2025, paying $100. At the time of purchase, their website clearly advertised $200 in advertising vouchers as part of the upgrade benefits.
I made the decision to upgrade based on that offer — and I even took a screenshot as proof.
After the upgrade, I contacted support when I didn’t receive the vouchers. I was told that the offer “no longer exists.” No apology, no alternative, and no accountability — despite clear evidence that the offer was active at the point of sale.
This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch tactics. It's misleading and undermines trust.
I have opened a support case and responded via email, but if this is not resolved fairly, I will pursue a chargeback and report to consumer protection agencies.
Until then, I cannot recommend FatCow to anyone.
Transparency matters. If you advertise something Honduras it!@
Worst Hosting on the Planet? Most Likely!
I originally purchased hosting through Fatcow, but was recently sold over to iPage, and have had nothing but problems (even with Fatcow, same problems). Any time I install a new instance of Wordpress, upload a them, Fatal Error... change a plugin: Fatal Error. My SSL certificates aren't valid... the control panel is terrible... the email addresses I create never receive emails... the technology is so far behind, nothing works. Wordpress recommends Php 8+, but they're stuck on 7.3, and won't upgrade, or give an option to yourself. I even recently transferred a domain to iPage (I already paid for the hosting, so figured why not) and it took so much back and forth trying to get the DNS updated to reflect it in their records. Do NOT use!!
"Hasn’t replied to negative reviews" speaks volumes about this company!!
No just bad... A Scam.... After 9 years they scammed me.
We started with ipage at least 9 years ago and they were fine the entire time we were active using them. In 2024, I cancelled my service with them but could not delete my credit card information. I check the after the expiration date and found the page not available. Later that year, I got a bill on my credit card. So I logged onto my account and changed my credit card information to make it unusable.
2025:
This year, I found we have almost 5 different charges totaling more that $200. I check my account and found no valid credit card information.
Customer Service:
Call customer service and found a new user name and password had been setting using my credit card. Under that user name an password, an old domain had the hosting service cancel. So the domain appeared unactive. However, I was billed for security lock and all of the extra's associated with maintaining a web page for the second year in a row.
This is a fake username and password billing my credit card for stuff I never bought.
Customer service said they'd canceled it but but this is the second year and hundred's of dollars later. I just cancelled the credit card.
Mean and lying customer service
Overpriced after renewals (scummy scam tactic). Aggressive, lying, and manipulative customer service when you try to cancel. I get told there is nothing they can do, they can over a 20 dollar discount. I tell them I will charge back with bank/credit card after being hassled, then they helped me. Spent a hour in chat. Waste of time, will never return. I fought with some call center bro for an hour because I was charged $400 to host an HTML CSS JS page, held no data. They don't provide value to me and then I gotta beg to some script reading a-hole. AVOID IPAGE. If ipage went bankrupt tomorrow I wouldn't care
WARNING
iPage has partnered with Bluehost and BOTH companies are BAD. iPage is currently blocking any contact to support. Our IT company is trying to move our clients site to another registrar and they have made it impossible at this point. They have held this website and services hostage. Warning, if you are with ipage you better look at getting out. It appears to me they are going out of business. All the signs are there and Bluehost is no better. I know about Bluehost from years ago leaving them.
Feeling RIPPED OF
I have used iPage for almost 15 years and, because I did not know exactly how these companies work, I just assumed that everything was fine. Until I decided to change web developers. Just two months ago, I renewed 4 products under the iPage umbrella and spent over $1,000. Now that my new developer is offering the same services in their package, I needed to cancel my subscription to iPage.
Customer service was helpful in helping me to turn off the Auto Renew feature, but was not able to help secure a refund on the three year plan that I signed up for. They tell me that if I had only cancelled prior to the Expiry date, they could have been able to refund me.
So, bottom line, read the fine print (as Tom Waits once sang, "The large print giveth and the small print taketh away")
Regardless of whether I cancelled within their timeframe, I am feeling ripped off.
IPAGE attempted to bill for $546.07 for 3-years of service THAT I NEVER USED. Fortunately, their attempt to deplete my account was thwarted as I changed banks a year ago. No wonder it rates 2.5.
Wanted to add that to use IPAGE for their limited Free? offer, you first must add your credit card number. Then, if you forget to remove the card, they will charge you even if it's three years later. THIS PLACE STINKS. Wish I could give them a -100!
The absolute worst customer service and…
The absolute worst customer service and worst site there is!
@ipage I'm stuck in conversation…
@ipage I'm stuck in conversation reference # I-20196302. Support will not end the conversation. they fear a review. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THIS PERSON TO END THE CHAT????
Terrible experience, stay away if possible
average support, ultra slow transfers !
PHP version available is ancient.
Use it only as a backup for files.
No customer service. Every time I log on site not working.
No customer service. Every time I log on
If you want to have a contact form, don't bother
If you want to have a contact form on your website, DO NOT sign up with iPage!! Their SQL is so out of date that no reputable Wordpress plug-in will work with it. After a little research, looks like they've been telling their customers they'll have it updated "in a few weeks" for YEARS!!! Just unbelievably bad customer service. They're still using 5.something MySQL.
This service is HORRIBLE
This service is HORRIBLE. I haven't posted anything new to my website in months. Went to add something new and saw my site was disabled. Went back and forth with iPage to fix it. They said my site was infected by malware. They sent me a file with the offending "bugs." Some of these were dated back to 2017, yet suddenly, they are now malware. I removed the files that they say were infected and my website looks nothing like it did. My theme is completely gone. Then they sent me another email today saying I have spam comments that need to be removed. These comments are not posted to the website, but they are sitting on the backend of my website until I can remove them completely. So I logged into WordPress to access the backend (admin) and I get the same popup I received last week saying my website is infected. There is no recourse. They got my money and I have a dysfunctional website. I can't even get into the backend to remove the spam content or attempt to update the website theme. HUNDREDS of dollars for a domain with hosting and its inoperable - it's not even accessible as its marked for error and disabled again by iPage. The company was tops when I used them in 2015, but they sold off to some other outfit and its been horrid since then. You can't even get a phone call for help. All they allow is chat and email which is painfully slow. i cannot recommend this company to anyone - ever. It is awful and criminal. Perhaps they are messing with my website on purpose? It's a blog, just a simple blog and yet it's useless to me.
If I could rate them zero I would
If I could rate them zero I would. My website has been glitching out and not loading or I can't access the back end and it just goes down at random times. Support is completely useless. I have wasted hours of my life talking to them days on end and they seriously don't have a clue. I am LOOSING MONEY because my site is always down.
Worst company
Have been using them for 15 years. I’m cancelling everything. They charge me for services I didn’t order, doubled the price on others, and their tech support has no interest in providing support. My website has been down for weeks and they keep saying they are working on it.

Unauthorized billing and No Service - Buyer Beware
After doing business with iPage for 6 years, in March of 2024 I was notified my next year of hosting service would increase from 119.99 (already up 20.00 from prior year), to 234.50 -- an amount more than DOUBLE the prior hosting fees. I spoke with them, and was told I could receive a courtesy 5% discount. Since I was being charged over 100% more, this felt like a joke. I told them I was very frustrated, and did not want to do business with them any longer. Rather than doing as I requested and cancelling my service, they billed me for another year at this horrible amount. I immediately called, and was told that even if I cancelled that same day, they would not refund me anything. Because the billing had already completed, I couldn't stop the payment. I felt trapped. And since then, every time I checked my site, it's been down / "under construction" in spite of me not making any changes. Not only was I billed without authorization, but I didn't receive the services I was billed for. BEWARE THIS COMPANY! Whoever is managing them now are the worst kind of crooks. I am not only cancelling them, but also making sure billing alerts are up to not allow any charges from iPage to be processed. Yes, it's that bad.
iPage is unreliable and doesn't auto renew domains even when you have auto-renew enabled!
After being a loyal iPage customer for more than 10 years, their service has degraded so badly that I have had to close my account. Despite me having an up-to-date payment method and auto-renew enabled on my domain, iPage let my domain expire and failed to notify me. It was only after I tried to update my website that I noticed the domain was not accessible - on iPage it says it will auto-renew, but that the domain is no longer available. I contacted support, who told me that my domain had lapsed and someone else had purchased it now on a different provider. I am livid! Not only was this a huge error on iPage's part, but they failed to notify me AND continued to charge me for hosting on domains that had supposedly expired. I used to recommend iPage to everyone, but now I have to say STAY AWAY if you want any kind of reliability. Go to namecheap instead.
iPage is a Complete Scam
iPage is a Complete Scam – Hidden Limits, Downtime, and Terrible Support!
I have been using iPage for hosting, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Their advertising is completely misleading, claiming to offer “unlimited” hosting when in reality, they impose hidden query limits that make websites completely unstable and unreliable.
My website goes down every hour because iPage has a 100,000 query limit per hour, something they never disclosed when I purchased the plan. When I contacted support, they admitted this limitation but refused to increase it unless I upgraded to a much more expensive plan. This is false advertising, and it has cost my business money due to lost sales and customers.
iPage still runs on PHP 7.4 and MySQL 5.6, both of which are completely outdated and insecure. When I asked about upgrading to PHP 8.x or MySQL 8, they gave vague responses and admitted that they have no clear timeline for upgrades. This makes it impossible to run modern, secure, and high-performance websites.
They do not support Redis or Memcached caching properly, meaning websites load slowly and struggle with database performance. Their object cache is not persistent, and when I asked them to enable it, they refused, saying it was a limitation of their shared hosting. This is unacceptable for any serious website.
Instead of fixing the problem, their support team only suggests disabling plugins or upgrading to an overpriced plan that supposedly increases the query limit. Why should I pay more just to fix a problem they created with their hidden limits? Their technical team is incompetent and refuses to provide real solutions.
If you care about your website’s uptime, performance, and business growth, DO NOT use iPage! They lie about unlimited hosting, refuse to provide modern server technology, and push unnecessary upgrades instead of fixing problems. I am migrating all my websites and strongly advising others to avoid this terrible hosting provider.
🚨 Stay away from iPage – it’s a scam! 🚨
After renewing the plan they changed…
After renewing the plan they changed php version that my site didn't support, the didn't downgrade for me and said the are no more supporting my version, I asked for refund..the just said SORRY NO policy ...
