I bought a course on Wowcher about…
I bought a course on Wowcher about learning to make cheese. It has been impossible to register for the course and the customer service just ask for the screen shot of my wowcher purchase and then fail to respond when I send it to them.
I am finding it very hard to to think that this is not a scam. Customer Services don't seem to do anything.
PS I appreciate the reply due to my posting this review
PSS My course was added to my account by one of the IOA staff which is good, but it should not have been necessary for me to need to try and use the chat customer support which was quite slow and unresponsive. It would be helpful to say to us that you need 24hrs to process the information you requested and I sent rather than saying nothing at all and leaving me wondering what was going on.
PPPS I am enjoying my course, although I still have a slightly bad tatse in my mouth having been 'encouraged' to update my review. It is what it is, The course is good, but the level of service was inadequate to have to leave a poor review to get any action. I have put three stars because it has been resolved. You would have got 5 stars if your system for registering a wowcher voucher was clear and easily - which it isnt at the moment.

Certifications made easier by a good company.
I took a very detailed course. The program took me step by step through the entire process. I bought the membership because of how long it was supposed to take. Steps through chapters were extremely easy. I had one issue, caused by me, and the help staff via email took care of it right away. I plan on taking another course also offered to supplement my certification.

This is stated on our website, in the Help Center, and during the subscription process. Certificates are optional extras and can be purchased separately at any time upon course completion.

Extremely disappointed
I started a course with the Open Academy and due to life becoming very busy, I had to extend the course to complete it. This course ended up costing me a significant sum and does not come with a certificate, this needs to be purchased separately. My subscription payment came out today and I asked to be refunded with cancellation taking immediate effect. I was denied a refund and told I had a rolling subscription which I had agreed to. I would not recommend undertaking a course with International Open Academy unless you are willing to pay a substantial amount. The membership purely allows you to access the course content, the course is an additional payment on top. The payment charged today is therefore a complete waste as I refuse to pay for an additional course.

When you enrolled in the course through a partner voucher, the offer included limited study time, as stated in the deal terms. The deal also included a document of completion, which was made available to you. Any additional documents, such as certificates, are optional extras, as the course itself was offered at a significantly reduced price through the voucher.
After the initial study time expired, you chose to extend access by subscribing to our membership plan, which not only allowed you to resume the expired course but also granted access to our entire library of courses. To support you, we offered a 50% discount on your first month, which you accepted. This presented a great opportunity to explore a wide range of topics.
The membership plan operates on a recurring payment basis, as outlined in the terms and conditions agreed upon during activation. This was also communicated during the subscription process. Additionally, the membership could have been canceled during the first month to avoid any further charges.
We’re saddened that you felt the need to post this review, especially after we had already explained these details via email when you reached out to us. Our goal is always to provide clarity and support to our students, and we regret that you remain dissatisfied despite our efforts.
While charges that have already been processed are non-refundable, we are available to assist you with any further questions or support you may need.

A big dissapointment, yet my expectations were wrong to bet set so high
Most of the course content is very bare-bones and filled with short descriptions. I took a couple of their courses out of curiosity and i can attest that my low rating is entirely justified - you get temporary, low quality course access that does not teach you much, is primarely sourced from on-site reading, and it charges a pretty penny for lackluster content.
If online learning is your goal, edX and Coursera are some of the best services that offer online learning. Open Academy cannot compare to the aforesaid services.

The Wowcher offer you purchased clearly states that the course is CPD-certified, as well as ICOES-certified. However, it does not indicate that a CPD certificate is automatically included. It specifies: “Course is CPD certified” and in the fine print: “Gain a certificate upon completion.” This refers to the Proof of Completion certificate, which you have now received.
We also want to highlight that you previously reached out to us via email regarding this matter. We explained the certification options available and ensured you received the included Proof of Completion document.
While optional certifications, like a CPD-endorsed certificate, are available for purchase, all of this information is clearly outlined on our website. Additionally, since we are not fully responsible for how deals are phrased on third-party platforms, we always recommend contacting our support team if there are any uncertainties before purchase to avoid confusion.
