Great commercial Lender with a forward thinking approach. Its always a pleasure to work with the team at Interbay.

We had a great experience from start to finish using Interbay who aided our client to obtain a commercial mortgage to purchase an office for their trading business. Our BDM Nick O'Leary was always on hand to help and definitely makes our life as a broker a lot easier!

Overall, my experience with Interbay Bank has been positive—the service was reliable and professionally delivered. However, there are some areas where I feel improvement is needed. Specifically, the requirement to route payments through mortgage clubs seems unnecessarily complex, especially considering the significant fees charged for processing when these clubs have no direct involvement in the transaction. This adds friction and cost without clear value to brokers.
Additionally, we are on the panel of Precise Mortgages, which operates under the same group, and they pay the full procuration fee. It raises the question of why InterBay, also within your group, does not follow the same model. Aligning policies across brands would improve consistency and broker satisfaction.
That said, I appreciate the overall service and hope these concerns are taken into account going forward.

The Lender was communicating and responsive throughout - a little bit process driven but once the sequence is understood everything moved quickly

We have used Interbay several times now and every time it has always been exceptional. Even if we encounter issues, Simon Ward out BDM will always, always, always go above and beyond to solve any, or simply guide us through the entire process. We couldn't recommend Interbay and their team enough.

Have worked with Interbay as a broker for many years now. I want to highlight the pragmatic underwriting we've recently experienced from Jason Rodger. A complex case, requiring exceptions but an underwriting approach with a view to finding solutions. It felt like we were working to mitigate risk and satisfy criteria and not just ticking boxes.

I have been working with Interbay on a number of deals, large and small. The service and proactivity from BDM right through to completions team is great. A special thanks to SFAM, Simon Ward and Office BDM, Joshua Williams who really go the extra mile.

The new streamlined process in getting to an offer is now very appealing. What makes this process more smoother, is my specialist finance manager Simon Ward who is very proactive and efficient with resolving any potential issues with great communication delivery.

As a Specialist Mortgage Broker who's business will write £120m of business in this financial year I am extremely disappointed with the experience we have found with InterBay having submitted c£5m of business.

Simon Ward - BDM for the North originally reached out and told us all about the fantastic products and opportunities that InterBay could support us with for our commercial mortgage products.

Frankly- Simon Ward is actually the only positive feedback I have for the lender at this point and is the only reason we are still progressing (or at least attempting to) three live cases and I want to be clear that this review is in no way a reflection on him, nor his abilities.

However, absolutely everything about InterBay thereafter has been more painful than anything I have experienced after 10 years in the Specialist Finance Industry.

From the portal submission, to the 5 day turnarounds for simple answers/ updates, to the archaic underwriting processes and the copy and paste attitude of the internal team.

Underwriting in Specialist Lending should be simple and straightforward but the experience we have had has been anything but. Countless requests for non relevant information relating to the transaction at hand and simply 'tick box' exercises being followed.

There is no place for it in an industry where we as brokers must move at pace for our ever demanding clients.

Our lender partners are a reflection of us as brokers and 99% of our job is managing client expectations and we as a brokerage cannot work with lender partners that do not work with us to get deals completed and act in their roles as deal prevention officers.

The products and headline rates could be absolutely fantastic and are much needed in our industry but ultimately they are wooden dollars because getting anything moving forward is almost impossible.

A very unhappy and dissatisfied broker partner at present with very little hope for any better outcomes in the immediate future.

Good experience though few issues that caused delays to complet

Overall good experience but a bit slow to respond to enquiries. I would recommend this company.

Assigned solicitor (JMW) was absolutely pants; slowed down completion by 3 months, by failing to engage. Would take 2-3 days to reply to emails. Further, didn't acknowledge the documents handed to them until all written up in a specified format; which was impossible to ascertain due to the aforementioned failure to communicate.

From start to finish, the people I dealt with at InterBay were very keen and positive to help with the transaction. They all worked as a team from my BDM Nick O'Leary to Gemma Notley in underwriting and Catherine March in completions. The software is very useful and easy to use, being able to access updates and provide documents and information.

Great experience. In 42 years in property very few lenders I was impressed with.

I am pleased to say the service was amazing. Full help was provided in extension due to late completion. I strongly recommend InterBay Mortgages.

A lender is only ever as good as its people, it’s commercial appetite, ability to make lending decisions without being hampered by unnecessary criteria - ie appetite for a common sense approach. This is where Interbay and its senior personnel make a huge difference and continue to do so within the marketplace.
