The whole process of van rental is amazing, Customer service section are great they make the whole system easy for you and are very keen to assist . The automated phone system I had a couple of problems with as it seemed to cut out during the unlocking and locking system, however this may also have been a phone signal problem from my location.
I would defiantly recommend this company to anyone thinking of hiring a vehicle .
The rates are very competitive in fact very hard to better against other company's .
All in all definitely a 5 star company.

I only booked the van last thing Sunday night for Monday morning and everything was all ready to go. The automated service is fantastic, the best way to hire a van. Excellent and would highly recommend to anyone.

Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I was kept up-to-date via emails and text messages. I spoke to friendly compassionate staff too as I needed the van a few hours more and they arranged this at no extra charge! The hire price is also very reasonable. Less than other companies charge. I would definitely use ICanHire again if I need to hire a van in the future

As always from start to finish easy everything as it should be used others before & takes to long this is the perfect solution to hiring anything on wheels

I found the booking process really easy and the cost was incredibly low compared to other local companies. I loved the flexibility of picking the hours to suit me. We collected the van at 9am and dropped it back again at 8pm. You wouldn't be able to do that with an office based company. The van itself was great. So easy to drive and very clean and in good conditioned. I would definitely use this service again and will be recommending to friends and family. Cannot fault it.

Got charged £150 for damages not caused by me! The damage was detailed in the log book before we hired the van, but the company still charged us the money. Avoid!

If you need a van or large vehicle for any reason I cannot recommend icanhire enough. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to organise and when I used the vehicle there were no problems at all. To top it off it's very very affordable and simple to book to your own requirements. Fantastic!

I hire vehicles about 20 times a year in the UK and in Europe and icanhire offers BY FAR the best system for a fair price. There is always people moaning on reviews but I used them many times and never had a problem. I rate them way above the rest for the convenience of their 24 hour booking.

This company really is one to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We hired a van which was in appalling condition, filthy, smelly and broke down almost immediately leaving my husband in a very dangerous condition on the M4. This is a 'Self-serve' company which means the vans are parked on the side of a random road, so if something goes wrong or you need further help you have to ring the call centre. Unfortunately the 3 times I had to call them I was left in a phone queue for nearly 40 mins - every single time. After spending nearly 2 hours in total on hold, waiting for my call to be answered I finally got through to someone and was told I could expect a full refund that day, and over a week later they still haven't refunded the payment! I was also promised a member of the senior team would call me the following business day, and there was no call! I even called back again (another 40 mins on hold) to chase payment and speak to a senior person, and guess what, no call back, and no refund! They really couldn't give less of a stuff about their customers if they tried. So please don't waste your time and money. Oh BTW I've since hired a van from Sixt who were brilliant and cheaper too!

I hired a van for the second time last night. It was very straightforward from the booking to collecting with full instructions given. When I returned the van I phoned to register its return. The only problem was it locked but as i was walking away from it i heard it unlock again. I phoned again and was put through to a customer service advisor and this was easily rectified from their end remotely and I was thanked for letting them know. We needed a van on the bank holiday to move house however the usual hire companies I use were closed or unable to provide a vehicle. Icanhire's website allowed me to state my needs and then fit around my requirements without me having to lift a finger. The day went smoothly...the van was close by, it had a good log of any previous damage to the vehicle. The information I received by text/email was clear and concise and the automated system was fantastic. Will definitely use them again.

I've lived in London for 15 years, during which time I've used vans from various companies every few months to help friends move etc. I can honestly say without doubt that icanhire is the worst company I have ever dealt with, and the bar wasn't exactly set high by the likes of Hertz, Sixt et al. I usually hire vans using zipvan, but the fact they only have small transits led me to give icanhire a try as they have a range of long-wheel-base transits and lutons available.

When I arrived to start my booking in Finchley, the van looked like scrap. The windscreen was cracked, the petrol flap was hanging off its hinge, the side panels were so dented and warped that the slide door wouldn't open, and the tyres had zero tread left on them, and I really mean nothing, they were smooth. After wrestling with the useless key safe, the van failed to start.

I got through OK on the helpline, and was directed to another van nearby. Still pretty ropey condition, but nowhere near as bad as the first. However, on turning the key there was no petrol in the tank (nor did the automatic text come through to inform me how full the tank was). So I rang the helpline, but by this time it was gone 6 and everyone had obviously gone home, not that they left a recorded message or anything, the phone just rang and rang. By this time I was already over an hour behind schedule and needed to get going, so I had no choice but to free-wheel most of the way to the nearest garage.
On returning the van, the remote locking didn't work, so I had to stand in the pi**ing rain waiting for the helpdesk to answer and lock it themselves.

It's a system that would work well if the technology was up to it and the vans weren't maintained so badly. The first van shouldn't have been on the road, it's as simple as that. If by some miracle the engine had turned over, anyone driving it would have ended up with points on their license if they'd have been stopped, or far worse, as the stopping distance of a fully loaded van would have been measured in miles. The individuals I spoke to through the helpline were polite, but it was clear they were working with a system not fit for purpose. If you can, use zipvan. The card entry system is a thousand times less hassle than the weird ican system (if you're mobile battery dies, you're screwed), and the vans have always been safe, good runners, if a little scuffed. Otherwise go with someone like Sixt, who can often act like spivs but at least the vans are always in good nick and they usually have a good selection of sizes. Never, ever, use icanhire if you can possibly help it.

Seems straight forward..... Remote unlocking, can tell you how much fuel the vehicle has etc... But can't supply correct vehicle!!!!!
General attitude is a little below par, take it or leave it..

Hired a transit Luton and got a standard transit.. Totally unfit for purpose.. As the vehicle was 75 miles away.. Hell they even told me where it was... Had no option but to take what was offered to try and get a job completed. But with only being able to complete one load.. The state of the vehicle is another whole ballgame. Dents and scrapes, scratches, mirrors hanging off, not even a proper fuel cap. The only other vehicle was a similar van in an even poorer state of repair..
Must say that.. BUYER BE WARE! I kid you not... YOU do literally get what you pay for..
Just waiting to see what the hit my account for.. But I did take a few pictures to cover myself in case... Yes 25 pictures...of the dents scrapes and faults.. How this vehicle passes its MOT is anyone's guess..

Very good service, no fuss, no hassle, and very friendly. The best rental place I have used, would definitely recommend!

A real people friendly service. No bull , no admin, just get a van when you need for whoever long you need. If others play fair it works for everyone else. Big pat on the back for this company.

I was really impressed with the whole process, from getting the price to making the booking and going through with the automated pick-up/return service. The van was in good condition and I had no problems at all. Really really good, and I'd happily recommend to anyone needing a van.
