We ordered a new composite door manufactured by Hurst Doors through Omar homes Ltd who were to be the installer. Initially the door was delayed by 2 weeks with no reason given and when the door arrived the fitters started the work and when the old door was out they took the new door out of the original packaging and began to fit it. When the frame was in the fitter was struggling to get the door to close properly and in end checked the door with a level.
The door was found to be bowed to a point that it doesn’t actually fit in the frame correctly. The fitters took loads of photos and reported back and we were told that the manufacturer had started to manufacture a replacement. Then the next day we received an email from Omar saying they needed to come and carry out some specific measurements in order to clarify this to Hurst Doors that their product is faulty. So far it’s not the installers it’s the product that’s poor quality/manufacture. This review will be updated after the installers visit. But as usual something poor from a company charging top dollar.

Very pleased with our new Hurst door. Makes the front of the house look much better, and its far more secure than our old door.

Anyone reading this don’t buy a door or frames from hurst the door won’t shut right, fensa has failed the door , the installer has been and measured it and will be sending you everything through Monday morning , you have now caused a delay to work and also the charity, the installer is not to blame it down to your poor manufacture of the door and frame

Had a Hurst Slam Lock door fitted in January. First few months were no issues - door looked great, loads of comments about it. The in the spring the sun came out. My door faces east - as spring started the door heated up in the early morning sun, and then started to warp. As we dove into summer this warping got to the point where you couldn't open the door from inside without using a spanner - and you had no chance with the key from outside. Always a risk of the key snapping. Hurst eventually fitted a new door block after my installer complained. Was ok for a few days, and then back to warping....as the summer got hotter the problem got worse. Hurst have now refused to talk to my installer, my installer has nowhere to go. So I now have a door that won't open when the suns out - I'm sure that's a Health & Safety issue, I will also look to see if there is a BS Standard/Building reg that requires a door to open.

Had to pay for a second door - and this has left the manufacture company faulty the whole window insert is broken- Avoid them like a barge pole - and if Hurst would like to make direct contact as please do as my joiner has told me you will never give a refund ! And he’s not even going to try

My new composite front door has been fitted a couple of weeks ago and i love it! Quality is outstanding. The design, glass, handles, knocker and letter box all look great and there is no longer a draft in my hallway.
A new front door was order and when it arrived it had no letter box which initially was not a huge problem but the fan light glass was the wrong size HUGE problem as you dont fit this until the door is in. My wonderful joiner covered the hole to try and make it watertight etc. It was like this for 2 weeks, front door faces the prevailing wind so you can imagine how cold the house was at the beginning of Dec. 2024. New door ordered. This company sent a new door and fanlight glass and expected my joiner to move the glass, the knocker the handle and lock to the replacement door and refit the door...... madness. Oh and they wanted the door back. The joiner did his thing and I have a full door and he took the other stuff back. Who had to pay for his extra time ME who had the stress and cost of keeping the house warm for my 91 year old mother me. I message the company asap no reply.
Now I don't normally moan so loudly about stuff but this is the last start. The door is not efficient I have to dry it nearly every day it runs with condensation the lock drips on the floor which is also new. I AM NOT HAPPY DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Just as a matter of interest l have just read some of the other customers reviews on this company, and am somewhat surprised at the number of poor reviews they have, which as far as I can see they do not seem to respond to, which is disappointing, for the customer the issues are serious, and should be dealt with accordingly!

Their prices are competitive, they offer a much wider range of door styles, everything looks premium and well marketed and the product always arrives well protected. Most importantly, on the rare occasion we report an issue the aftersales team respond and deal with the situation very quickly.
Excellent Customer Service, Had my new door installed a good few weeks ago now and it's amazing, no more drafts coming through and i can no longer see the outside. Selecting a door colour was a dream, the little fold-out book had so many to choose from and I could search the internet for any RAL colour if I wanted to. I'm so impressed with it, i've even turned my lock into a smart one. Highly Recommend, very high end product. Thank You!!

I needed some assistance before my purchase and contacted Hurst directly who were more than happy to answer my questions, very polite and knowledgeable.
My door is a feature and has changed the look of my house. A few friends now have door envy and I know where I’ll tell them to order from.
Being using Hurst for a while now and the team are always helpful and make sure everything is resolved
I had a composite door installed, and find that when the sun shines on it, it bends to extent that I am unable to lock the front door. I have gone via my installer and supplier and followed the complaints procedure to get this rectified and still Hurst's keep asking for photos and measurements, all of which show that the door is bending and has more then a 3-5mm gap, but still they delay and delay etc. I tried calling the company directly and the lady said that they don't deal with the public directly. The customer service has been shocking, the design of the door is shocking, did they not consider the sun shining on an external door and the effect of heat on it??? Very poor design. AVOID this company at all costs.
Further update, Hursts have changed the door and applied heat reflective coating to lessen the effects of direct heat. Owing to the colder weather I will only know next year (2024) how effective this is.

My experience has been nothing, but stress and trouble I ordered my door from local company that used Hurst as a supplier first they had trouble getting the glass then the door came eventually but was the wrong threshold second door came with scratches all over it 3nd door actually got fitted but after a few weeks marks started to show on the outside with this I rang the company that I had bought the door from he came out a agreed it had been coloured in with a marker pen to hide the damage he obviously went back to Hurst. Their reply was to send another marker pen out to me to colour it in myself, which I did not except as I ordered a new door not a defected one. They agreed to change after while and sent the 4th door which was also damage this had gone on from December 22 and we were now August 23 then 5th door came with the spy hole in the wrong place I was then offered compensation from the local company to keep the door with the damage, which I took, because I do not trust Hurst to make door without damage and I’d had enough. I would strongly recommend you stay well away!!!!
I waited a very long time for my door ok during COVID it was a long wait it was September 2021. Roll on 2.5 years. The metal strip which holds the locks one of the screw heads has sheared off leaving the screw body inside the door, the metal strip bulging and catching. I phoned Hurst Doors. Immediate told to call supplier. I had read the FAQ's and would have, they liquidated.
I had previous read Hurst Doors FAQ's and customer feedback, i had hoped nothing would go wrong as feedback is not promising (in my opinion). I accept they make and supply 1000's of doors and have happy customers but what about those of us when something goes wrong through no customer neglect
I had no choice but phone Hurst Doors direct and explain the problem. The reply...'ah that part of the door is not covered by warranty'. I asked what is covered by warranty? The reply ' not the part you've said is faulty'
What is it with double glazing and door manufacturers. Its a worrying business trade that takes no responsibility because no one holds to account.
None of the warranties worth the paper written on.
A composite door is an investment, or least should be but don't expect any help from Hurst Doors if things go wrong which in life, things do. I cannot recommend Hurst Doors.
