Snus and vaping/drug use is a major problem at this school. The heads just arent able to tackle and stamp it out. Use of mobile phones is another one. Overall not good for a private school, this shouldnt even be a topic of discussion let alone being shared for all to see on here!

When you walk through the gates it smells like weed this is not good and disappointing, their are staff that have done some bad things last year one of the teachers set Bunsen burners on because they have no heating in their room and the gas was leaking the food is dry you find hairs in it the cafeteria is disgusting the building are crumbling their is a lack of pe facility’s the children are overworked because the school only cares about good academic grades. Some of the rooms have no heating, some of the teachers treat the girls different to the boys.

As a relative of a member of this school, I am deeply disappointed. The stories of disasters that have occurred are utterly appalling.

My relative, who shall remain anonymous, informed me about a gas leak. A science teacher allegedly used Bunsen burners to warm up a room because the school was hesitant to turn on the heating. I was shocked when I learned about this—what sort of imbecile would take such a risk? During the incident, students were sent to the front lawn and left standing around in disorganized clusters. No protocols were followed. To make matters worse, the smoke detectors in the St. David's building were not functional. As a result, none of the students could use the building. After an extended period of confusion, the teachers finally managed to direct students to assigned areas. However, half the day was wasted, as the students were confined to these locations. The school should have conducted a proper evacuation, and the teacher responsible for this reckless behavior should have been held accountable.

This is just one of many disasters. Another incident involved a teacher being suspended for making a female student lift her shirt to check for contraband.

The laptops issued to students allegedly have spyware installed. This is a gross invasion of privacy. Teachers can reportedly monitor what software is used on these laptops, even when students are at home. The extent of this spyware is unclear, raising concerns that staff might even have access to the camera feed.

The cafeteria has also failed to meet basic safety standards. Raw chicken has been served to students on multiple occasions, leading to cases of food poisoning. Some students have even left the school because of these issues.

Incidents like these happen far too often. The quality of this school is dismal and urgently needs to be addressed.

I took my daughter (aged 14) to this school and it was horrible, she was constantly coming home crying about how the teachers have favourites and how bad the food was, one day the food ran out and she had to eat left overs.

Wonderful school. Welcomed our adopted son and could not have done more to support with his transition. He has continued to flourish. Part of the site is grade 1 listed so yes these buildings are dated and difficult to look after, but many other parts of the school are modern. Highly recommend this school. Do not pay attention to the negative reviews these are not reflective of the large majority of parents.

My brother in law has just let me know that this school are trying to remove critical reviews from here (including his). This is just to reinforce the point that this company is a greedy company that kept £2000 deposit from a hard-working family. Trustpilot rejected the claims that his review was 'illegal' and 'harmful' and kept it on Trustpilot. Well done them. You can read it on here. It's a deplorable story.

When my son attended Huddersfield Grammar School it was called St David’s owned by Michael and Rosemary Knighton. Rosemary treated all the children like one of her own the children were so happy and cared for, the staff were happy and there was 1 person maintaining the school he loved his job was skilled and appreciated by all who knew him Eventually the school.was sold to the women who previously owned Kay’s college. These 2 women were only interested in making money and only interested in highly intelligent children. My son struggled and I was told he was unteachable, and wouldn’t get anywhere. My son went to a junior school then a secondary school then college. He gained a place at Leeds University, his choice, and left with an honours degree. Others from Huddersfield Grammar School whom he knew did not reach university or failed their exam in the first year. Now a Cognita school the buildings is in disrepair, maintenance staff employed soon leave and have no skills at all. Staff are pushed to the limit and are unhappy. It’s just a facade. Give it some serious thought before enrolling your child at HGS.

Overall I think this school is average at best the teachers do well at their jobs bit expensive but the food there was barely edible and most classes don’t have heating the teachers can be extremely selective with who they treat well mainly towards girls and as well the school does nothing when it comes to students mental health and same with the school grounds

Bro why is this skibidi Ohio school even here so expensive like who would pay 1 dollar every single 10 years bro so not worth it plus the Skibidi teachers harassing us poor skibidis every day. My senior school daughter has attended this school for two years. It is a very good school with the benefit of a high teacher to pupil ratio. They responded to the pandemic and online schooling exceptionally quickly and well. Their communication and updates to parents are excellent, as is their pastoral care and support to kids.

They do not tolerate bullying.

I disagree with the rating below suggesting it’s a racist school. Groups of children of different races and faiths are the best of friends. My daughter is in one such friendship group.

The teaching is good and staff are very supportive and caring.

We recently approached HUDDERSFIELD GRAMMAR SCHOOL about a place for our 13 year old. The initial enquiry was handled very well, and we paid a deposit of £2000. We became slightly concerned when our telephone calls requesting information were not returned, and when our documents were mislaid. But the main issue was that our daughter made a strong argument for staying at her state school, getting quite upset. Of course, we were also aware of the massive investment required, and the fact that we might end up sending our two pre-schoolers into private education too. Anyway, we cancelled the place. We didn't want to get the person dealing with us in trouble, so just told the school we had changed our mind. Anyway, upon requesting the majority of this deposit back, we were told we owed not only the £2000 but also another £3300. I then emailed the business owner - Cognita, asking them if they were really quite sure if this was their position. I then emailed them again. This was ignored. I then called Cognita. They NEVER answer the phone. I left a message on their answer phone. Then two weeks later, another. I then received a letter stating their new position which was to keep the whole £2000. My point is, these people are behaving like an agressive sales company. To be fair, a friend in the private schools business tells me this is common practice. I think it's disgusting. And I'd warn others to realise that your child's education should not be entrusted to a ruthless business. Their behaviour, being not human, but simply contractual, is alarming. Please check if your school of choice is run by Cognita.
