Shopping for a necklace, was served by Jordan who was knowledgeable, polite and who actually cared about my purchase. Not really used to that .

I would like too say what a plesent experiance it was too be served by jorden with my necklace on tuesday the 26th may. Most charming person!

Samuels assistant was very pleasant and helpful during our purchase of a lady's watch. She also advised us about the 2 year guarantee which we took up.

I’m writing this review because I genuinely don’t want anyone else to go through the experience I had with H. Samuel.

At first, everything seemed fine during the purchase process—the service was friendly and smooth. But once the purchase was made, the aftercare was nonexistent.

My boyfriend bought me a small pair of gold earrings as a birthday gift two years ago. They were meaningful to me, but unfortunately, the quality didn’t match the price or sentiment. When he first received them, he realized they were too small and felt cheap, so he tried to return them immediately, only to be told he couldn’t return earrings for hygiene reasons.

Not knowing much about jewelry, he gave them to me anyway, and I wore them occasionally over the past year. Just yesterday, one of them broke while I was taking it off—proving just how poor the quality is. We went back to the store, not even asking for a refund, just hoping for a solution. But the staff, including the manager, were unhelpful and dismissive.

They blamed “customer damage,” which makes no sense. A proper pair of gold earrings should last years, if not a lifetime—not fall apart in a year with occasional wear. We even had insurance on them, but that apparently only lasts 12 months. They still wouldn’t do anything to help.

It’s incredibly disappointing that a supposedly reputable jewelry store would sell poor-quality products and offer zero support after the sale. I’d strongly recommend buying gold or diamond jewelry from a local jeweler instead where quality and service actually matter.

I bought a Gold necklace online for my partner from H Samuel. I hadn't realised that she already had a similar one, so she didn't really want it. I took it back to the nearest store to me in Huddersfield who authorised a full refund with no quibble whatsoever. I would have no hesitation using H Samuel again.

Chris, at the Huddersfield branch, sorted my broken watch strap quickly. He was polite, friendly and a credit to H. Samuel. I left the shop very happy.

I can be a nightmare making a decision, especially if I'm parting with money! Chris at the Huddersfield branch was very helpful and answered all my questions to finally help me settle on a new watch that was right for me.

Just been in to purchase a necklace and Chris was a great help. Patient, knowledgeable and helpful.

I'm disappointed with the service at H Samuel. I purchased a wedding double stack ring back in September and bought out insurance; at the time, I was informed it covers the complete set; now that I want to use my ring resize voucher, I'm being told that it will only cover one ring, how does that even make sense, it's a double stack ring how can I resize one and not the other, absolutely ridiculous ring policy. If a ring is bought as a set, surely it should cover the complete set. H Samuel, you should train your staff, particularly at the Huddersfield and Bradford store. I told them that when I purchased the rings, I was told they covered both, and the staff said they couldn't do anything now. Is that how you deal with customers? I contacted customer service and they were of no help either. Appalling! They have no idea what service they are offering and are scamming people. A jewellery shop I would not recommend

online was easy - visited the Huddersfield store at 9.30 on 28.2.24 but the female said the store wasn't open. A wasted journey so online was my only option.

Got my daughter's ears pierced here yesterday and I have to say they were fantastic! The man in the shop was happy to talk me through every aspect of the process during my telephone enquiry and it was just as good when we arrived at the shop. We didn't need an appointment which was good as my daughter was very nervous and I thought she may change her mind (but she didn't) so not being pushed to a time was helpful. The cost is very reasonable (from about £18 upwards depending on which earrings you choose) and my daughter was lucky that 2 members of staff were available at the time so she got both ears pierced in one go. She's had no bleeding or swelling at all and is delighted with the result. I'd highly recommend them!

Horrendous experience with our engagement ring!

My partner proposed in June 2021. The ring was too big for me, so we went into our local store (Huddersfield) to discuss our options. We were obviously excited as a newly engaged couple, however when we arrived in store, our excitement wasn't met and we were bluntly told by the staff that a resize wasn’t possible. They then informed us that the ring my partner proposed with was out of stock across the UK and we’d need to pick a different one.

I understand the style of the ring could make the resize difficult, so we were disappointed but accepted that couldn't be helped. The lady dealing with us then proceeded to tell me how much I had to spend on a new ring based on what my partner paid for the original, which I feel is extremely unprofessional. My partner had already told me how much he spent on the ring - but they didn’t know that and you’d expect some discretion from a shop selling engagement rings.

We were given 3 options nothing like our original ring, we expressed this to the lady dealing with us but she refused to give us any other options. My partner picked a ring at random and we ended up with a style neither of us are happy with. I picked the new ring up a couple of weeks later, which was still too big. After our initial experience I didn't want to go back to store so purchased some ring adjusters.

We’re now planning our wedding and have made the decision to purchase a new ring entirely. This ring is nothing like the one my Fiancé proposed with and has left us with a bad taste in our mouth.

On top of the terrible experience we had, the ring yellowed within a couple of months and one of the clasps has broken, which I understand can happen but just adds to our dissatisfaction.

I spoke with Customer service last month, who told us they won’t do anything unless we go back in store and complain directly to the staff we’re complaining about - not ideal when you don’t enjoy confrontation!

Wasn’t sure which type of ear rings I wanted and the shop assistant was very helpful, definitely be shopping there again

Absolutely excellent customer service, the girls (especially Anne) couldn’t do enough to help

Went into H Samuel to have some links took out the strap on my husbands watch absolutely excellent service and very friendly

I went to buy a watch for father's day, the staff were great very polite and helpful but not pushy ,they were also very professional the way they worked around the covid so I would recommend this shop to anyone 👍.
