Howdens - Basingstoke Recenzje 

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Howdens, Coventry branch, located at Railway Sidings, Lockhurst Lane, Coventry, CV6 5NJ.

I placed my order over a week ago. When I went to collect the goods, I was told that some items were missing. I have now collected the available goods, but I am still waiting for the remaining items.

Positive: The linen kitchen looks really nice and the quartz worktop is excellent. The kitchen was delivered very quickly.

Negative: After the sale, communication from Howdens was virtually non-existent – there were no after-sales check-ins at all. My main advice is to double-check the kitchen design and all measurements yourself. We relied too much on the kitchen designer and didn’t re-verify the dimensions of the new cupboards.

Our original plate cupboards were 40 cm deep; the new ones are only 30 cm, so some of our plates no longer fit. The cupboard above the fridge is now only 30 cm deep, whereas the old one was 60 cm and aligned with the fridge depth.

Two tall cupboards were supposed to be 30 cm deep based on our request, but Howdens delivered 60 cm deep units and expected the builder to cut them down without informing or consulting them. It would be better if Howdens only sold cupboards in the dimensions they actually stock. The builder was understandably unhappy. Those two tall cupboards also came with insufficient shelving – just two shelves per cupboard, leaving gaps of about 70 cm, which is very impractical. Six additional shelves are effectively missing, and Howdens told us that the supplied shelving is “standard” and anything more must be purchased separately.

We also asked the kitchen designer to include a foldable table. While it looked fine on the plan, in reality it was unusable. The designer’s response was that “the builder will sort it out.” In the end, we removed the table altogether.

I sent several emails to Howdens, including to the branch manager, but never received a reply. The kitchen designer eventually responded, but nothing was resolved, so I’ve given up. My impression is that once Howdens has made the sale, they’re no longer interested.

Would I buy another kitchen from Howdens? Probably not. Next time I’d rather go with a smaller independent kitchen designer or shop, even if it means waiting longer for the kitchen to be delivered.

The mdf skirting boards were ordered on the app and ready to collect on the required date.
I was pleased to be able to load the goods with the help of staff under cover as it was raining on that morning.

My experience with Howdens overall was excellent, the showroom staff where very helpful and welcoming. The kitchen designer Mark was above and beyond helpful. If I had any gripe it was my experience on the phone to the showroom, I am not a kitchen fitter and sometimes I needed advice and I found this sometimes hard to come by. Overall I would recommend Howdens.

I went and ordered some kitchen units and a worktop on Friday, everything delivered on Monday and such great quality. I have in the past had someone come and install kitchens for me but this time I decided I would do it. Simply brilliant quality I'm so impressed, many thanks Howdens.
