Awful and so expensive, cake is garbage and the tea is like pond water will never come back

Bought a pond Oxygenator that is confirmed by manufacturer as faulty and 3 days old. Rather than replace it Homeleigh want to test it first which can only be authorised by a manager on certain days. No apologies for fact it doesn't work and they want the entire unit back complete all pond fittings. This on a unit that is allegedly has a 3 year guarantee and 3 days old. Apparently it's Impossible to just swap it out for another one. I worked in retailing for years, but they obviously don't pursue a policy of good customer service as we did but obviously it's more important to quibble and waste time over a £39 item than keep a good reputation. Obviously no one worries about reputation or just the staff time and customer inconvenience and cost here,they obviously aren't. Our dictat was you upset customers at your peril because they will always tell their friends and acquaintances,which is easier than ever these days. So be it. Whilst it's good to support local firms I can't recommend Homeleigh which is disappointing as have used it for years but not again. Sadly when you have competition such as Amazon you would think local companies would have upped their game. But they haven't so especially peeved as decided to buy it locally just to support local companies. Difference would be Amazon would just replace it next day whereas Homeleigh obviously want to be difficult despite their legal sale of goods act obligations. I realise this could just be the attitude of one employee but that employee represents and is the company to the consumer and you don't come out of this well

Carnon downstairs would never visit again.
Looking around places looks like it hasn't been updated for years. Way over priced.
The cafe 3 cold drinks and tea and slice of dry horrid cake £28.96. Cake tasted like it's been left out for days. This place is a pretty rotton,would not visit again

We had three Sunday Roast Turkey meals at the Carnon Downs site yesterday. 47 min wait for our meals?
Suggest you mash the Swede and season it rather than just dicing it. (No taste and difficult to get on fork).
Toilet roll dispenser in the disabled toilet very frustrating to get any paper out of it. Not fit for purpose.

Went to the Truro garden centre for Sunday lunch. Found a seat all clean, husband went to order and staff ignored him at first but then did serve him. He was not very happy , Ordered two roast dinners one beef, one Turkey, reasonable price. We did have to wait nearly 30 minutes but dinner came lots of veg and all hot. Turkey lovely but the beef was so tough I left a lot of it. It was a shame as the rest of the dinner was tasty and this spoilt it. We will try it again in the hope that it was a one off.

Homeleigh Truro. Ordered two cooked breakfasts with a pot of tea. It took over 35 minutes to get our breakfast despite there being only 6 people in the cafe including us.
Food was adequate but the beans were not hot. Had a walk around and although the pet and wild bird section was very tidy and organised the rest of the store was chaotic. Workmen were in the basement area but nothing was screened off so you could wander in where they were working. Staff were watering plants with trailing hoses that were left unattended for anyone to trip over. There were buckets in the soft furnishing area to catch roof leaks. Two female members of staff sitting around unpacking stock while stock was strewn all over the floor. Didn't feel at all safe so left and won't be returning.

Homeleigh Crediton served a poor quality small Sunday roast with one slice of very tough beef, gravey that the granules had not fully desolved and to add insult the menue price of £12.85 on the bill had v.a.t added making the meal £15.42 also a small bottle of peroni zero at £3.95 ends up at £4.67 overall a very disappointing experience that will never be repeated.

Bought a fishing rod for 140 but went to take it back the next day because my son bought one for me same day. Told by a rude girl that can’t have refund only credit note. No signed saying that only one on till which you can see because it’s worn away. Won’t be going back to carnon downs store again. Poor staff should get lay off the old ones from previous owners.

Great service from plant staff. However, went to restaurant for a cup of tea at 4.10 and told very abruptly that closing at 4.30. Older male member of staff rude and abrupt to us and other people finishing drinks hovering around and took away our tray and cups as we were finishing. Five stars for plant staff nil for restaurant staff.

Ordered item that is out of manufacture temporarily, called to double check the stock after being let down by another retailer. Customer service rep remembered seeing the items in packing that day, arrived 2 days later - quick as I am in Scotland, not local to the store. Great service, very quick, postage was very reasonable.

We visited your coffee shop today after ordering we noticed we had been charged for wrong sandwich which staff then rectified by taking money from staff tips jar! Egg sandwich presentation was awful just cut on a sloppy diagonal with minimal filling - the brie & cranberry ciabatta very thin and tasted like a hot jam sandwich - coffee nice. Will not be returning again.

Outstanding advice from a really nice man in the aquatic department. Ordered a pond liner Saturday at midday and it was with me on Sunday morning. Excellent

Well I have just got from a visit to Homeleigh in Launceston, I went to buy some stuff for my fish tank and was well and truly ripped off but I did need some so bought a small bottle only - I have since bought some more at a THIRD of the price on Ebay -

I am still stunned at how they have hiked their prices up on everything, plants, aquatics, tools you name it they have hiked prices to a truly staggering level.

I for one will not be shopping there again unless they get real about prices!!

Poor attention to customers and rude staff.

I ordered a Weber Barbeque online from the Homeleigh Garden Centre. The price was very good and the delivery process was very straightforward and fast.
