I ordered the Clan Sakai replica blades from Yao and am blown away by the quality of the product! I also ordered a display stand to go with it.
Not only did I get the swords, 2 bags were included as well for both the Katana and Tanto. The certificate of Authenticity was a welcome addition as well. Other sites I looked at were not only more expensive for just the Katana (can't speak to whether they were quality enough to be worth the price), but also asked for more money for the certificate.
I ordered these items mid-late January as well, so was super surprised to find it only took exactly 2 weeks from order to receiving the items at what I assume is, or was about to be, a busy time with Lunar New Year coming up.
Having never bought swords before, let alone importing them to Australia, I was hesitant to see how the process would go and what the quality would be when I received them. Now I have them, I can't praise Yao enough for his work. The swords look brilliant and are put together expertly, the bags are of great quality, and as before the Certificate of Authenticity just ties it all off. They sit perfectly with the display stand too. Oh and I got custom engraving as well which was just the icing on the cake.
Yao took expert care to make sure the swords were oiled, and that the oil wouldn't wipe off during transport, as well as making sure the swords couldn't move inside the package during shipping as well. I couldn't believe my eyes when the package arrived, it was so compact I was sure something was missing but everything was there, perfectly pristine.
If you ever wish to purchase a Katana or any other sword (I believe he forges Chinese swords as well) I would highly recommend Yao and HanbonForge. Their prices are super competitive, plus you can fully customise weapons to your specifications.
