Staff racist. If you're English they want you in and out, have no time for you. Witnessed it with a few of the staff members. My child could also tell she was been treated differently to the kids before and after her

I purchased 2 Barbie dolls online from Hamleys. The dolls were the same price as Amazon but I wanted to support a traditional retailer.

It was due within five days (I chose not to pay extra for next day delivery). However I soon realised it wouldn’t be there in time for my daughter’s birthday as the order didn’t ship straight away.

I called customer service who upgraded me to a next day delivery at no cost. They called me back on the morning of the birthday to check I had received it. As it turns out the courier was delayed which I told them, thanking them for trying. They said ‘leave it with us’.

We hung up and 20 min later I received an update saying my order would be there within the hour. It was and I was able to give it to my daughter in time for her birthday.

Now that is what I call a top notch service, super impressed. Support a British retailer !

We were sold the rubbish zorbi for 24£… completely swindled! If you’re selling that tatt to tourists you should be ashamed

Went to Hamleys Oxford branch today and the experience was totally disappointing. We were about to pay but the lady on the counter asked us to wait on the side and so we did. We placed all the items that we wanted to buy on the counter top waiting patiently to be served. However, to our dismay, after few minutes of waiting despite not having other customers wanting to pay, WE WERE TOTALLY IGNORED by maybe 6 people at the counter who were just talking amongst each other. It’s difficult to believe that they did not notice us. The only good thing was when one of the staff came to us and apologised. Apparently, they did not know we were waiting to be served despite having all the items placed on the counter 🤷‍♀️. Btw, it’s the counter on the third floor.

More than 2 months and still waiting for my order…

Not a great experience. It was a family day out to LDN for my sons birthday. We bought loads if toys from Hamleys. I bought a toy hoover plane from the 4th floor. My sons was not happy with it at home as it kept glitching and disconnecting. Took it back for a refund and I was treated line a criminal. I stood by my rights and eventually got a refund. There are many other toy shops in LDN with better customer care than Hamleys. Will not be going back.

Bought a Tonie box for my daughter’s birthday. It came and was faulty (battery didn’t hold charge). After contacting customer service about replacing the item, I sent the item back. Waited a week with no response, so I emailed again. I was told that a replacement was on its way and would be with me over the next few days. Another week past with no delivery, then I randomly got a refund to my bank. Contacted Hamleys again to ask why I had been refunded when the item was suppose to be on its way. Turns out it was never on its way, and they had no stock.

Are the staff of Hamleys being kept against their will? The first at a pay desk on the third floor wouldn’t speak to us, but kept pointing to a sign on the wall and the second on the ground floor was almost as bad. He was monosyllabic, stared at us, was really unfriendly and made us feel like he was doing us a favour selling us the toy. Been going to Hamleys for decades, but seriously considering giving it a miss now!

Don't buy these. They're made to look like great little toys - it's cheap plastic on a string. Not worth more than a few £. Will never visit Hamleys again.

My 10 year old cousin bought a “flying toy” for £35 there was no string on the demo and it was flying perfectly BUT when we get home he finds there is a string and it doesn’t actually do its job and you can’t do a full 360 like he did in the demo. Thank you.

Wow. Never buy anything from the 'shows' I feel completely scammed. I brought a ZORBI which looked like a magic flying saucer... I was excited to wow my nephews in Australia.. but when I opened the box, it was a piece of cheap plastic with lights that were broken and some white tac and a piece of cotton for £25. what a scam! I will NEVER buy anything from Hamley's ever again.

Inadequate returns policy. I sent back the toy that arrived broken just before Christmas and silence. The returns form is totally inadequate for an online trader. They are supposed to ring to get my card details to put the money back onto my card. No call. Will not be using again.

Terrible customer service

Absolutely awful. We come for a build a bear every visit but you had everyone queuing next to the bears so you couldnt even choose a bear without queuing then get out of the queue for an outfit I have 6 children. You just missed out of a big sale absolutely ridiculous

Present arrived broken.

Getting ready to wrap presents for Christmas. Open the item from Hamleys to find it shattered inside. No fragile markings on the parcel. I've never had anything delivered thats arrived broken so this is clearly an issue with Hamleys. I won't order anything again from there. They are supposed to be a reputable toy brand but clearly they are careless. I am livid.

Placed an order which stated it would be delivered by Xmas and have just received a cancellation email. Very disappointed as I could have ordered this present elsewhere.

Ordered a toy for my nephew for his January birthday, have to say I was panicking a bit after reading reviews about their delivery service and the bad experiences people have had, ordered on Monday and pleasantly surprise when the toy arrived at my door Friday morning I'm sure my nephew will love it.

I hadn't been to Hamleys in over 10 years so took my youngest to experience this grand toy shop at christmas...... I would have been better off taking him to Smyths toys. This place is not even close to what it once was. Boring, dull, the fun atmosphere was gone, no unique toys, I wouldn't have even thought it was christmas, This place used to be like Duncans to chest from Home Alone now it just feels tied and lost. This will probably be my last ever trip to Hamleys, I wish now I hadn't gone I just lived with the great past memories I had.

Stole £10 from our money when we paid £15 and was suposed to pay £5. Said they could do nothing about it. Never going back ever.

Wish I’d read reviews before ordering from Hamleys. My experience seems to have happened to others. Ordered a selection of toys (not cheap) and advised on the 10th December that they had been despatched for delivery by Evri. Checked on 16th December but according to Evri tracking my order was still awaited. Phoned Hamleys and was told they would investigate and email me back. They didn’t. So I emailed them and received a reply that Evri must have lost the parcel and I would be refunded eventually. Now left scrambling around trying to source gifts at the last minute.
