Chelmsford branch. One of our main requirements is for a high street presence. We want the ability for our customers as well as ourselves to be able to talk to someone face to face if required and not just an anonymous online presence. We have been using haart for about 3 years now and find the services provided are extremely professional and the people who work there very accessible; in branch, by phone, and by email. Through haart, we have experience of setting up, new tenants, maintenance management, repairs, and inventory; all were done with professionalism and a feel that we are the main customer. We understand there are plans for an online portal for landlords in order to manage maintenance issues and this would be an extremely useful tool which would match our experience of what other companies use. While all the people who work at haart Chelmsford are worthy of note, I shall on this occasion give Megan Lacey mention for recent services provided in relation to the management of a maintenance issue whereby we wished to use a specific contractor, and excellent and an comprehensive inventory report. There are some absolute scoundrels in our business; we aspire to be landlords who are considered legal, decent, and always considerate of the needs of those who use our services, and we believe that haart also represents those values.

We used Haart Chelmsford to get a valuation. They booked in a time and confirmed it but then changed it when the email came through. We decided to cancel as we couldn’t make that time and they were very keen to rearrange, very pushy saying they should have the chance to prove they were the best. A real sales push on me. We arranged for them to come at a different time but they called on the day and asked to come earlier. We said no as we were out but they showed up anyway and so our son showed them around. They assured him they would send the valuation over later that day. We never heard back and I called twice.
Pushy and arrogant is how they come across. Would not recommend. All other agents we used were helpful and professional.

Unprofessional, not open about prospective buyers, poor communication with their staff, would never recommend this company.

I've been with Haart as my agent for the best part of ten years and I have nothing but praise for the lettings team. They have found me trouble-free tenants and dealt with any issues with the flat itself. Megan, as with the rest of the team, has been exemplary in her communications with me. A real pleasure to deal with her.

In my opinion, this is the most unprofessional and likely the worst letting agency in the whole world. All I can say is::: avoid them!!!! We recently moved out from a flat in Chelmsford,,, precisely Springfield road. The landlord seems to be renovating it for upgrade and he is expecting us to foot the bill amounting to almost £5000 claiming we damaged the cheaply furnished property. The letting agency which at this point I feel is biased has picture evidence and repeated complaints we made both via email and in person when they came for inspection and they seem not to want to act as they should. They should upload all the pictures we sent and the ones they took on inspection.Our case is on flatfair and no matter how long it lingers,,,, I will not let them siphon money from me. At this point,,, I feel the letting agency is just there to maintain a relationship with their customers( landlords) and not for a balanced action!!!!

The management of our end of tenancy has been atrocious. They are unresponsive and causing us unnecessary stress during the process of completing the tenancy and check out. Two months and mind numbing amounts of time being spent using FlatFair and the issues are still not resolved.

I am a landlord and have used Haarts for over 15 years. I would never use them again. They have changed their terms, staff have been rude both to my tenant and myself. They have very little for their fees. my tenant and I feel very let down by them

I rented a flat from Haart Chelmsford that required significant cleaning when I moved in. Haart did not show up on the check-out day but later sent me an invoice for over £400 for professional cleaning of a flat under 40m².

This service was neither mentioned in the rental agreement nor agreed upon by me. Haart simply issued the invoice and demanded payment.

I have check-in and check-out photos provided by Haart, showing the apartment was returned in the same or better condition. The flat was fully furnished and remained under Haart’s control for six days before the check-out photos were taken. The contract also does not state any requirement for professional cleaning.

As a potential buyer I can only say that my experience with the Chelmsford branch of Haart was what I can only describe as dealing with the most unprofessional “team” that I have ever had the misfortune to interact with. Communication skills are well below poor, management at the branch will say anything to protect themselves (even lying). I had the misfortune of wanting to view a number of properties that they were marketing, I called to make appointments a week in advance to view 4 properties (all empty) one property after another so as not to waste any of my valuable time. When I called the branch the day before to confirm the viewing appointments had been made I was told that the agent was in a meeting and would call me back (it never happened). I walked into the Chelmsford branch on the day that the viewings should have been made only to find out that no appointments had been booked in for me. The manager there knew nothing about my request and blatantly lied to me.

Here is the real issue at that time I had nothing to sell and was looking for a quick purchase

If you had your property on the market and a buyer with no chain tried to view your property how would you feel if the agent didn’t make that appointment to view your property?

I would seriously recommend that you do your research and due diligence before placing your property with the most unprofessional business unit that I have ever happened across.

I was so exasperated with their unprofessional conduct that I went through their formal complaints procedure ending up with the ombudsman making a final decision.

I’ve been dealing with Megan from property management since I’ve moved in and I would like to say how amazing she’s been with dealing with queries as well as minor issues that we have raised. Nothing is ever too much to ask and she will always deal with it in a quick and polite manner! Thanks Megan!

Emilia, in the Chelmsford lettings branch was extremely helpful and friendly, and she quickly understood my needs and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns about the rental process, and the viewing options available to me. She made me feel like a valued customer; would heartily recommend.

Walked past the company as they were having what I imagine was a Christmas party/get together and some female employees walked in, only to be called 'slags' by their male employees. Not what I want in an estate agents, especially after I was interested in some properties on display. Naturally, I understand people let loose at office parties but to know female staff dress up for an occasion and their fellow colleagues think that's appropriate language when in fact it's insulting doesn't make me feel like they can be trusted. I'm sure other staff are better than this. It's a shame these employees have formed a negative view of what I'm sure is a good company.

Heart has an amazing team of staff. Stacy Cordaroy is particularly efficient, resourceful,helpful and very very responsive. Her prompt and efficient response to tenants' needs is amiable. She is an invaluable asset to Haarts team, I must say.
