A wide coverage has resulted in at least one of three guns advertised and being sold. One is still pending and very little interest in the third.

Nothing wrong with the brilliant site, just selling my shotguns up here in Aberdeenshire slow, no interest at all, possibly the same all over the country.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a frustrating experience. I did make a change to the advert regarding the calibre, which may be why it appeared different from what you originally submitted.
I’ve also tried to contact you several times by phone and left messages, as I’m keen to help resolve any issues and make sure everything is correct for you.
Please feel free to get back to me at your convenience so we can sort this out quickly. I’m more than happy to assist and ensure you’re satisfied with the listing.

Not very impressed with Guntrader.
Not very impressed with Guntrader.
The whole quality of the website is going downhill FAST !!!
Firstly putting an advert up is ‘clunky’ and frustrating.
The software edits the advert and categories as it see’s fit and won’t let you edit it afterwards.
It wouldn’t accept ‘firearm’ in the licence requirement box,as well as not allowing me to place a full heading on the title.
Whilst I’m fully aware that the used gun market is through the floor at the moment.
However I was more than disappointed that despite placing two guns on here at significantly less than market value, the only responses I received were from two blatant scammers !!!!

Thank you for your feedback, I’m sorry to hear about your experience.
I’ve checked your adverts and can see they are getting good visibility, with one at 1,282 views and the other at 492. However, I understand how frustrating it is to only receive responses from suspected scammers. Please report these to us so we can take action.
I’d really like to better understand the issues you faced with placing your advert. Could you give us a call so we can talk this through and help resolve things?

Odpowiedź od Guntrader Media Ltd
Hi,
We’re really sorry to hear about your experience.
Could you confirm when this took place? We’ve implemented additional security and enhanced vetting measures recently, so this doesn’t sound like something we would expect to see in the past few days.
That said, we take your feedback seriously. If you’re able to share any further details about the interactions, it would really help us investigate and continue improving our safeguards.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Scam messages
I advertised my gun with guntrader and all I recieved were scam messages asking me to send the gun in exchange for a cheque. I do not recommend this site for selling. Not worth the cost.

Odpowiedź od Guntrader Media Ltd
We’re really sorry to hear about your experience, and we completely understand how frustrating that must have been. Unfortunately, scammers are an issue across many online marketplaces, and while we work hard to prevent them, they can sometimes still get through.
We did see a spike in this type of activity last week, and as a result, we implemented enhanced security measures yesterday to help better detect and prevent these messages.
While we take this very seriously, we don’t feel it’s entirely fair to place the blame on Guntrader, as we facilitate thousands of successful and genuine sales on the platform. That said, your feedback is important, and we’re continuously improving to make the experience safer for everyone.

Unfortunately, scam enquiries are an issue that affects many platforms and businesses, and while we are continuously working to improve our systems and introduce stronger safeguards to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, it is not something that can be entirely eliminated.
That said, we take this matter very seriously. We are actively investing in better screening, monitoring, and reporting tools to reduce the likelihood of these interactions and to protect our users as much as possible.
We also encourage customers to remain cautious and report any suspicious behaviour so we can take swift action.
Your feedback is important and helps us continue improving, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Complicated setup
The way to set up an advert is rather long winded, the same questions appear multiple times. The process for being contacted by prospective buyers works well, but be careful who you are talking to. As they are not verified, as far as who they are and where they are from.

Odpowiedź od Guntrader Media Ltd
We’re really glad to hear that the process for being contacted by prospective buyers is working well for you. That said, we appreciate your feedback regarding the advert setup. We’re always looking to improve, so if you’d be willing to elaborate on which parts felt repetitive or long-winded, it would be incredibly helpful for us to refine the process.
We’re also currently working on changes to how potential buyers make enquiries, with the aim of improving quality and user confidence.
Regarding your point about verification, you’re absolutely right to be cautious. Unfortunately, scammers can be found on most online platforms. While we actively work to reduce this as much as possible, it can be challenging to eliminate entirely, so we always encourage users to stay vigilant.
Thanks again for your feedback .

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it can be to receive messages from scammers or timewasters.
Please know that we take this issue seriously and are actively working on improving our systems to better filter and prevent these types of enquiries. Our goal is to create a safer and more efficient experience for all genuine buyers and sellers.
We’d also like to reassure you that we successfully facilitate legitimate sales and remain committed to maintaining a trusted platform.

I recently posted an advert on…
I recently posted an advert on Guntrader, and frankly, it was a waste of time and money. I had high hopes for a quick sale, but the reality was far from it.
The Issues:
Zero Genuine Interest: Not a single legitimate buyer reached out. Every single person who responded to my advert was a blatant scammer.
Security Concerns: I spent more time filtering through suspicious emails and "is this still available" phishing attempts than actually discussing the firearm.
No Sale: Despite the listing being active and priced competitively, the gun didn't sell.
It feels like the platform has become a playground for bad actors, and there doesn't seem to be enough verification or protection in place for private sellers. I won't be using this service again—I'd rather trade it into a local dealer than deal with the headache of another listing here.

Odpowiedź od Guntrader Media Ltd
Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — I’m really sorry to hear that it was a frustrating one.
I do want to reassure you that we take issues like this very seriously. We work hard behind the scenes to monitor and remove suspicious activity, and we’re constantly improving our systems to reduce the presence of scammers on the platform. Unfortunately, as with any online marketplace, there are individuals who attempt to misuse it, but it’s something we actively manage every day.
In terms of your advert’s performance, I can appreciate how disappointing it is when a sale doesn’t come through. However, there are often multiple factors at play — including pricing, market demand, timing, and the specifics of the item itself — and while we aim to provide strong exposure, we’re not able to guarantee a sale.
That said, your experience with suspicious responses is not the standard we want for our users. If you still have any of the messages or email addresses, we’d really appreciate you forwarding them on so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
I completely understand your hesitation about using the platform again, but if you do decide to give it another try in the future, we’d be more than happy to assist and offer guidance to help improve your experience.

Only had 2 enquiries
Only had 2 enquiries, first was a scammer from London, the second agreed to buy and would come tomorrow to pick it up, then messaged to say he wasn’t coming! So not a great result. Will try again somewhere else, or maybe just keep it.
The search section is not very good. You can’t serch a specific make/model of rifle. You can only search rifle type then have to scroll through pages of guns you are not interested in. I’m guessing most people looking know the make/model they are looking for!

Thanks for your review and sorry to hear the experience wasn’t what you’d hoped.
We do work hard to reduce scam activity on the platform, but unfortunately, like all online marketplaces, it can still occasionally occur and we actively monitor and remove it where possible.
I’m also sorry you only received limited genuine interest and that the buyer didn’t follow through, we appreciate how frustrating that is.
Thank you for the feedback on search functionality as well. We’re always reviewing improvements to help users search more effectively, including make and model filters, those filters are in place to help people who are looking for specific items.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. We want to reassure this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide.

I had my advert up for 1 month and in that time I was emailed 6 times from scammed, its a good job I know what to look out for. Could of easily fooled someone else with a dangerous outcome. I think guntrader should be doing extra to try stop this from happening

Thank you for your feedback, we’re really sorry to hear about your experience.
We take reports of scam activity extremely seriously and are constantly monitoring the platform to identify and prevent this kind of behaviour. However, while we have systems in place and continue to improve them, it’s not always possible to stop every fraudulent contact before it reaches users.
It’s good to hear you were able to recognise the warning signs, as unfortunately these scams can be convincing and, as you say, could potentially catch others out. We always encourage users to remain vigilant and report any suspicious messages so we can take action as quickly as possible.
For reassurance, thousands of successful and legitimate transactions take place on our platform, and we are continually working behind the scenes to keep it that way and make improvements wherever we can.
We appreciate you raising this and helping us keep the community safe.
