The best app to study music, easy to use, stable on both windows and mac, and the best of all, it is avaliable in my native language.

Guitar Pro is a really beautiful tool and deserves its price. Only problem is, if I need to learn something I have to pay for a subscritpion for tab files. So it is almost useless without the song files. Also those song files are actually other users work. I don't know if they pay for those files to their creators. I bought the program but that subscription thing is not acceptable.

I've been using Guitar Pro over many years and many versions and I am completely satisfied with it. A great product that has helped me improve my guitar playing as a learning tool coupled to access to many great tabs readily available on the internet. Then when I started to write and record my own music it proved an invaluable tool again. I write my melodies out in Guitar Pro with lyrics which helps when I get to recording. I can add keyboards and other instruments and then export them as midi files which I can then import into Cubase for filling out my mix. Couldn't be happier. Many thanks to the people at Guitar Pro.

J'utilise énormément ce logiciel depuis la version 4 qui a subit de grosses améliorations pour en arriver à la version 8.
Je n'ai pas trouver de différence énorme avec la version précédente.
GuitarPro reste, néanmoins, un logiciel de musique indispensable et incontournable pour créer et/ou écrire des tablatures.

I wanted to use this as a teaching tool, but so far it's a glorified PDF converter. The options are limited. I do understand that it can be useful, but for me and my students, there are easier ways to do most of the things I expected it to do. Just do your research and make sure it's for you.

I want to write guitar exercises and put them online for my students to access.
When I say 'PDF converter' I mean that I write the tab in another (online) program, then download the GP file, upload it in GP and save (so I can have a hard file) then convert tab to PDF so I can give my students printable access. If I give them just the GP file, then they have to pay for and download GP, something I'm not going to ask their parents to do. But I do link them to another site that will play the song/exercise for them.
More:
-No AI transcription. Not even a thought of it.
-I want to build a simple chord chart. I can't.
-I want to edit so the worksheet is 1)some tab and 2)some text/direction. The text options are insanely limited. And not user friendly. Give me some big arrows, a large text box etc.
-If we don't want to pay for every single song, do we get a free midi version?

These are all things that may be specific to my situation. But the Youtuber's that get paid for their reviews make this program out to be the be all end all. They are ridiculous and sensational. It's a great tab program. If I worked for Mel or Hal then I'd be all over this. But I was expecting a little more. This is GP8. We're still doing 'just tab'?... I realize "Guitar Pro is primarily designed for creating, editing, and practicing music notation and tablature, with many tools beyond PDF export (playback, editing, training features, multi-instrument writing, etc.)" And I am still going to utilize what I can. Thanks guys.

J'utilise Guitar Pro depuis la version 5. Ce logiciel a toujours été un très bon compagnon de travail pour la musique (apprentissage, enseignement, composition).
L'ajout des backing tracks dans la version 8 est une réelle avancée.
Néanmoins, pour les pièces ou le tempo change, la synchronisation entre les pistes Guitar Pro et la backing track peut demander beaucoup de temps.
P. S. : Beaucoup de partitions de My Song Book disposent maintenant de backing track, ce qui ajoute au plaisir. En effet, je peux maintenant jouer tout seul mais avec, en particulier, des paroles chantées directement dans la backing track

Très pratique pour relever un morceau et en écrire la partition en même temps (la version 8 permet de synchroniser l'audio avec la partition, de boucler, ralentir, ...)

Have been playing for some time, but always feel stuck in the late beginner stage. I have found this to be an excellent resource. It has certainly helped me with timing, speed and accuracy of my playing.

Good tablature software.
You can save your songs in tablature and notation for guitar, design how many bars should be on the paper and such. Quite a good software.

I felt much more comfortable using GP6. Though GP8 has some new or better features now, I miss the easyness I had using GP6.
Why can't values be adjusted by rolling the mousewheel anymore?
Who made the new pedalboard looking like this? The use of it is way more uncomfortable than it has ever been.
Changing tempo was easier in GP6.
The whole layout was so much better in GP6.
I agree with the better sound in GP8, but using GP6 was just more fun to me 🤷‍♂️

I misunderstood and thought I'd be able to load actual songs into it out of my files which would be cool to have the song I'm transcribing right there on the same app. A combination of a riffstation-like/ stem splitter app combined with guitar pro would be brilliant.

with guitar pro you get a vast set of music scores, the free ones you find on the internet can't compare with the value Guitar Pro gives you.

I have been taking guitar lessons for 3 or months now. My tutor recommended Guitar Pro and it has been invaluable to my learning process. I honestly think I would struggle without this amazing piece of software. HIGHLY recommended for every guitar player and especially beginners!

Bonjour. Un peu de mal à me repèrer dans les commandes en venant de la version 4. Un problème: quand on exporte en pdf, si on n'y prête pas garde, le nom du fichier donné par défaut est celui du précédent travail. Alors on écrase ce qui a été fait précédemment

I've been using the Tabledit application for a number of years now and decided to take advantage of a GuitarPro special offer a few months ago, nothing really "wrong" with Tabledit, but rather just seeking an application focused on guitar. The approach to composition is different between the two and took some time to adjust, but in the end I prefer Guitar Pro for better automation and a more modern interface. The ability to import Tabledit files is only Simi-helpful because of the differences, but that's expected as translation compatabilty can be a tricky programming thing. Admittedly, I use the software for solo guitar tab and don't do full score, multi-track or multi-instrument composition but for my requirements Guitar Pro gets my endorsement. Couple of thoughts on future development:
1. Consider improvement to the bar - level "spell check" to actually make suggestions on solving a timing error, perhaps even Ai suggestions on a solution based on the rest of the score etc.
2. Use Ai to improve or embellish a score. (Think suggesting a bass line segment that matches the melody in a Travis picking score, or even suggesting a new accompanying track altogether).
3. Scan a composition to suggest changes, maybe a note that would work better for the key, or even suggesting changes to a score to a different musical style ie. "James Taylor" / "Billy Strings" style, or from one genre to another...
4. Improve chord diagram suggestions based on what's detected/selected within a bar, helpful with fingerstyle or flat picking arrangements where one may not need a full chord to play it.

I'm still learning the Guitar Pro workflow and all of the tools it has to offer, but it seems to be the "standard" application, offers best in class composition tools and I'd recommend it to anyone.

J'ai acheté Guitar Pro 8 parce que j'espérais trouver un logiciel qui me permette d'écrire des partitions pour Pedal Steel Guitar. Mais, même si on peut créer une tablature de 10 lignes, même si on peut reproduire l'accordage d'une Pedal Seel, on ne peut pas annoter l'utilisation d'une pédale ou d'une genouillère. C'est frustrant ! On m'a proposé de me rembourser, mais je garde mon logiciel parce qu'il est pratique pour écrire une partition guitare, basse ou banjo (mes autres instruments) en gagnant du temps. La tablature s'écrit en même temps qu'on écrit la partition solfiée.
Et les sons ont progressé avantageusement par rapport à la version antérieure que je connaissais auparavant.
Reste à espérer qu'un jour, je verrai mon souhait exaucé...
