From our very first visit through to our latest purchase, she has consistently gone above and beyond to make the whole experience feel special. Grange Land Rover of Hatfield - Is anyone there?

This review is for Grange Land Rover of Hatfield.

I need an approved JLR body repairer, I used the JLR website to find my nearest, its Grange Hatfield. I call to arrange a time and date to visit to get an estimate. Like many, all i get is a call queueing device which doesn't offer me a repairer option so I leave a message. 4 days later I leave another message giving them the benefit of the doubt as the last one was on a Friday and the weekend may have been busy. 4 days later still no a titter from this dealership despite 2 messages. Even an under the arches mechanic has the decency and professionalism to call you back.

This is so poor its unbelievable!

Its interesting to see that despite many 1 star ratings Grange NEVER respond. Maybe JLR need to look here too and consider removing Grange from their dealership network as they are obviously incapable of acting like a motoring organisation at all!

As a footnote, out of frustration, I rang a local VW approved repairer I have used before. The phone was answered by a person straight away, 5 minutes later, I have a booked appointment the following day. Follow up email and message arrived whilst I was still on the phone. I attend the appointment and am seen on time. a full inspection is made, photos taken etc and a full quotation is promised by COP the following day. It arrived at 5pm, its clear comprehensive and professional. Guess where I am going now - if only they sold cars!

Appalling After Sales Service Aston Martin Grange Hatfield

Bought an Aston Martin DBX from Oliver at Grange Motors Aston Martin Hatfield - it is now obvious to me why Grange Motors have an average 2.8 rating on Trustpilot with nearly 50% of reviews giving 1 star - my experience with this company illustrates this rating perfectly.
In all honesty the " warning signs " were there from Day 1 - putting pressure on me to wire my deposit / sign finance documents without seeing the car to get the sale " in our month end figures "etc.
When my wife and I picked up the car form Hatfield I could not believe that Oliver was alone in the showroom - the " handover " was very protracted as he was constantly answering the phone / dealing with clients coming into the showroom etc etc - as a " Prestige " car brand do you really have one staff member on their own on a Saturday - isn't that the busiest day of the week ?? In all honesty we were so excited about getting the car that we just " suffered " it but there was certainly no real effort to explain the cars functionality / benefit etc etc .
Within a month our excitement in getting the car had very much worn off as it was now back with Aston Martin with a battery issue !!!! One issue that was clear was the car should have a " trickle charger " as the battery would run down otherwise - I explained this to Andy Lee at Hatfield ( the " Brand Manager " ) who told me categorically this was NOT the case.
Obviously within 2 months the car is now back with Aston Martin as it won't start - I immediately tried to get hold of Oliver who text me to say he was " away " however Andy Lee would contact me.
On the Saturday I made 7 calls to Andy Lee at Hatfield - 6 of the calls went through to the answerphone ( !!) again it's not for me to tell people how to run their business but surely paying someone to answer the phones on a Saturday would make a lot of sense !!! After eventually getting through to someone I was told Andy Lee was doing a " handover " ( good luck to whoever bought their car !!) and would phone me back. I left the message with Andy Lee ( as well as an answerphone message ) at approximately 11 am in the morning - assuming Grange closed at 5 during the next 6 hours he did not have the decency / courtesy to return my call and even worse now 4 days later I have still had NO phone from Andy Lee / Aston Martin Grange to discuss my problem and explain to me the next steps.
Unfortunately when you buy any product there is a chance that there will be a problem - clearly even £150,000.00 Aston Martin Cars but what is important is how the seller of that product deals with the problem. it is very clear through my own experiences and indeed the countless poor reviews on Trustpilot that Grange Motors clearly do not have the infrastructure / quality of staff to deal with issues which invariably happen - Andy Lee encapsulates Grange Motors perfectly - he literally does not care.
Please understand that in my opinion if you spend money with this company and you have a problem with your car then there is a strong chance you will have the same experience I and many others have had and I would STRONGLY advise anyone thinking of parting with any money with Grange Motors to read this and other reviews and draw your own conclusions which I would suggest is to buy your car from ANY other dealership apart from Grange.

Aston Martin Edinburgh, Excellent Professional Service

Purchased a used Aston Martin DB9 Volante from Grange Edinburgh. From start to finish, professional service with excellent communication from Andrew. Points raised w.r.t. condition were addressed and car delivered to my home. My last DB9 purchased from Stratstone Aston Martin Manchester was an awful experience so good that Grange has recovered my faith in this brands service.

I agreed to purchase a jaguar for £33000 was told by the very rude manager that he actually didn’t want to sell me the car because it was too cheap got our accounts to call to pay for the car they wouldn’t return calls eventually did to tell us the car was sold the next day the car was advertised for £34400 I would avoid this dealership at all costs CAWBOYS do not waste your time

Utter liars AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Utter liars. Put car in for security upgrade (wonder if that was even done). Asked them if they wouldn't mind filling it up with adblu (as range rover say "any dealer is obliged to fill u up for free"). No problem they said a day later the app still showing refill 3 litres rang ams asked if they had done it (not an issue if not just didn't want to overfill it). No we definitely filled it right up for you. A week later showed refill 5 litres. So I did. Why lie?????

Also had a look at upgrading the car whilst car was in as mine now 3 years old. I'd actually forgotten how rude these wide boys are. They make Boycey look like one of the dragons on dragons den. RUDE, BEYOND RUDE. Once again.... lost the sale ill go back to my preferred dealership where they are professional. Perhaps your staff could go on a training day there instead of sitting calling customers CUN!s thinking we can't hear you. Your lucky Yr not in Court!!!!!

Distance purchase, seen online
Very responsive to calls and emails whilst selling me the car
3 weeks after purchase car made weird noises and kept losing power.
Told to take to local MG garage as distance purchase and under warranty.
Discovered service was due a week after purchase so MG assist was invalid.
Paid for service to reactivate warranty (dealer did refund this though)
Multiple issues found over the next few months. Same initial problem kept persisting after each new problem was found and fixed. After 4 months of owning the car, it was in the garage for about 3 of them.
Tried to return the car as major problem found within first month of purchase. Car even lost power once at a busy intersection with my children in the car!
Communication from Grange then became a lot less responsive.
They eventually agreed to collect the car and took it to another MG branch within their company and found £2300 worth of work to do. It even lost all power when the car was delivered to them by the delivery service.
After almost 2 months of calling and emailing, while they had the car still, eventually they agreed to buy back the car at almost £1000 less than I paid to receive the car about 6 months earlier. Was told this was because I used a 3rd party, but did this as they told me to.
During sale they were very happy to return emails and calls, when problems started calls weren’t returned and emails weren’t answered constantly. Had to continually chase them to get any information and my very disappointing return money.
Multiple deadlines given for calls, returning emails, updates and even the collection of the car but when the time came there would always be a reason it didn’t happen and the deadline changed to later time without notice.
So, owned the car for 6 months, actually had it for 1 month and lost £1000 as well as tax and insurance for a car I couldn’t drive the whole time and endangered my small childrens lives.
Whole awful situation dragged out by lack of response once problems started, so I wouldn’t recommend purchasing for this company

When things go wrong - accuse the customer of lying. Always a winning strategy

The car went in for a routine service, and I received a call at two o'clock telling me that the car would be washed and gotten ready for me and that I would be called when ready.
At 6:00 PM I called them and asked where my car was and they told me that it was ready after the first call and that I should have come to collect it.
I told them that I was expecting a telephone call and they denied this emphatically essentially calling me a liar complete with arrogance and totally disdainful attitude. I made a complaint and told them I wanted a recording of the call
The car was with them overnight as a result and has caused significant inconvenience.
At 8:30 AM this morning I received a call from the service manager apologising as he had listened to the call ........and he admitted that he HAD promised me a call back.
Really shocking - and that will be the end of my relationship with Range Rover.
I will be cancelling the replacement car I had ordered this morning and going to Audi instead. Perhaps they know how to talk to people

Absolute shambles of a company

Absolute shambles of a company. I took my Range Rover Sport to them for a service and to diagnose and repair a restricted performance error, last Wednesday. Initially they were meant to have the car for 2 days.

I was called on the Wednesday afternoon and told the car needed thousands of pounds worth of work and would be needed for an extra day. I agreed on the basis that they could assure me it would fix the restricted performance error which they said it would, as I needed to use the car at the weekend for towing and would be away early the following week on business.

I collected the car last Friday. On the way home I could smell diesel but thought it may have been temporary and due to work they had done.

Saturday morning I was towing a small sailing dinghy down the motorway when the car began to smell strongly of diesel again and went back into restricted performance mode. I tried phoning but no one apparently answers the phone on a Saturday. I had to then drive the car home towing the boat in restricted performance mode and smelling of diesel.

I tried phoning them whilst away on the Monday and eventually had my call answered. Admittedly I was a little frustrated on the phone however the individual at the other end was rude, and aggressive, and seemed uninterested in helping me and raised his voice. Eventually they agreed to send someone out as I had left the car at home whilst away as I was not happy to drive it. I expressed a concern that the thousands of pounds of work had done nothing to fix the car and actually made it worse, and asked for the old parts to have them inspected but apparently they had been disposed of. How convenient.

They did send an engineer to my home who my wife said was there a few minutes and replaced a couple of breather hoses that had (in his own words to my wife) obviously been damaged when fitting the new (possibly unnecessary) parts during the service.

I got back from being away on Tuesday evening late. Today (Wednesday) I drove the car to work, a small distance, then to a hospital appointment. During this journey the car began to smell really badly of diesel again and as well as going into restricted performance mode it also now had an engine warning light on. I immediately phoned the dealership (around 3pm) and was told a manager would call me back. By 6pm no one had bothered to call me back. I lifted the bonnet and could smell diesel really badly and can actually see diesel on the pipes at the back of the engine and underneath the car. Despite me explaining when the alleged repairs didn’t work that there was a strong diesel smell, this seems to have been ignored.

So, now my car is considerably worse than when it was first taken in to them last week, I am thousands of pounds out of pocket, I need my car to tow again over the Easter weekend, no one bothered to call me this afternoon or make any attempt to rectify the issue.

Out of desperation I have decided maybe leaving a google review will prompt them to get in touch and fix the issue once and for all. It seems likely that yet another weekend of family activity will be ruined by not having the car working and fit to tow. I am furious with this dealership and their lack of accountability and customer service. I have also submitted a complaint to the motoring ombudsman and will, if necessary, hire a towing car and seek compensation from them to recover the cost of having to do this.

Avoid this dealership at all costs, they are simply hopeless and treat customers with utter contempt and do not bother to call back when promised to rectify an issue which has obviously been caused by their incompetence. So having spent thousands of pounds my car is now undrivable and arguably dangerous, and Grange Swindon seem unbothered by this.

If the car is not fully repaired and back ready for me to use by the Easter weekend, or a suitable replacement tow vehicle provided whilst they rectify the damage they have caused to my car I will be contacting local and national press

Pleasurable used car purchase

16 May 2025. Purchased a used Jaguar E-Pace for my son. The whole experience start to finish was a pleasure. Both Dan and Brad were professional and helpful in every way. No pressure selling or B S that many other used car sales guys seem to use these days. Be honest and up front with them, and they will give you the same courtesy. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to others. Thanks gents.

Fault after just 3 months, lied about warranty

I tried to make use of the 12 month warranty supplied when I purchased my car due to an unexpected fault. The dealership lied and told me I didn't receive a warranty despite the original advert and correspondence stating otherwise. Currently without a car and a very expensive bill for a failed MOT just three months after purchasing one of their "approved used" luxury cars. 0 stars

When things go wrong

Had a suspension part replaced on my McLaren 720S. from start to finish Rishi, the service advisor, was extremely courteous and friendly. When there was an issue, he went above and beyond to ensure I was not delayed nor dissatisfied. Judge people not by their mistakes but by what they do to rectify them. McLaren Hatfield went to next level. Thank you Rishi and all at Grange.

Had my DB11 Health Checked at Grange…

Had my DB11 Health Checked at Grange Aston Martin Hatfield, booking the request was simple, I was taken care of by Wayne and Alistair in the Service department who both provide super guidance and assistance! The car was ready for collection on a Saturday morning, my wife and I were greeted by Hugh Azmi who works in the sales Team, he was both professional and charming and made the hand over process a delight, he pointed out a number of things I could do to make my ownership and driving experience of my DB11 a joy. I've meet many Car Sales professional in my time and Hugh stands out by far as knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the brand he represents, thank you Hugh! I whole heartedly recommend Wayne, Alistair and Hugh along with Grange Aston Martin Hatfield, thank you all.

Won't bother travelling this far again.

After a lengthy drive from Surrey to see a Kia Picanto that James had advertised, we were given a warm welcome by him and there was no pressure to buy and time was given to tast drive and look around the car before arriving at a decision. We agreed to buy and James kindly took our car as part exchange. James delivered the Kia for us and we appreciated this. The problems started as soon as the three month warranty expired and we have had to fork out about half as much as the purchase price in order to make the thing safe. This car had a recent MOT and no advisories listed upon purchase and we believe that to be a dodgy MOT. James said he was going to get it serviced and was in fact waiting to get it booked in so there was a delay in receiving the car and work to be done to rectify a leaking exhaust. No evidence that either were done and my attempt to contact James for the paperwork to back up what he told us had been done went ignored. I didn't bother pursuing as felt it fruitless. He was quick enough to answer messages when we first made contact on the same number, and he knew this car was to be our Daughter's first car yet seems happy for her to drive what turned out to be nothing short of a death trap.

Absolutely useless service department

Absolutely useless service department. (no stars) I have had a number of interactions with the service team, none of them good, however the most recent experience has prompted this review and for me to withdraw both my LR cars from servicing at Swindon. Firstly, there are some fundamental things they can't seem to get right e.g. they never answer the phone and never call back if you leave a message. Come on Grange, that is very basic! Secondly, one of the LR's I bought from them less than 6 months ago has been in 3 times for a coolant leak issue (which they don't seem to be able to fix) and remains an issue, which I'm told can't be looked at until February.

My most recent experience was the final straw! Knowing they never answer the phone I dropped in when I was in Swindon to get an issue diagnosed on my other car. After inspection the Service Department confirmed that wiper jets needed replacing and booked me in for wait service. I arrived yesterday morning (having driven an hour to get there from home) to be told they had booked the wrong car in, the parts were not available and I'd need to come back...but not to worry they'd call me later and rearrange the booking. Guess what....they didn't call back! So I left a message. You guessed it..they didn't call back.

Avoid Grange Swindon at all costs. Don't buy a car from them. Don't get a car serviced by them. There are much much better, service orientated professional LR dealerships out there. If I ran my business like they run theirs, I'd be our of business in a week.

INEOS Kenilworth Road Solihull

Stumbled across this garage through endless visits to garages while looking to buy a new car. Very professional set up with very well presented cars, at realistic prices. Steven Palmer took us through the process including trading our car against the new car.
Never once felt pressured into buying, regarding the price of our car being traded in again I felt it a fair price.
With them currently moving into the old Aston Martin site in Hampton in Arden they have some big shoes to fill, they are definitely doing this.
Would recommend them for anyone looking to purchase a new/second hand car.

Extremely Disappointing Service at Grange McLaren Hatfield

I am compelled to share my profoundly disappointing experience with Grange McLaren Hatfield, which stands out as the worst customer service I have ever encountered from a high-end car dealership. This experience is especially disheartening considering my longstanding and positive relationship with Aston Martin Grange in Brentwood, where I have been a loyal customer for 15 years, purchasing five cars and consistently receiving exemplary service.

The contrast between the service provided by Aston Martin Grange and Grange McLaren Hatfield could not be more stark. My recent experience with Grange McLaren Hatfield has been nothing short of frustrating and upsetting. I felt demeaned and disrespected, and my concerns were met with indifference rather than responsibility or a genuine effort to resolve the issues.

My vehicle was taken in for repairs, specifically to replace the dash center air ventilation mechanism and the indicator stalk, both of which were malfunctioning. I was stunned to discover that the repair cost was nearly £5,000 for these components alone, which is exorbitant considering they are merely plastic parts. Over my 25 years of car ownership, including 20 sport cars, I have never encountered such a situation.

The service experience was marred by numerous issues:

Extended Repair Time: The repair process dragged on for 30 days. During this time, my car was left outside in the sun, leading to damage on my new carbon fiber spoiler from bird droppings. This damage was confirmed by your service department in an email.

Damage to the Vehicle: While replacing the dash air vent, the leather interior was scratched and peeled. This additional damage is unacceptable and reflects a lack of care and professionalism. The damaged was confirmed by the video of health car check conducted prior to the repair.

Inadequate Response and Compensation: After escalating these concerns to the manager, I was assured of an investigation and follow-up. However, after waiting 10 days with no updates, I had to proactively reach out. The compensation offered was £200 merely a token amount for a superficial fix and required me to handle the restoration myself, which is unacceptable given the extent of the damage and far from an acceptable solution.

Based on this experience, I strongly advise against using Grange McLaren Hatfield. They had custody of my car and failed to protect it, ultimately causing further damage.

This review serves as a warning to others considering their services. I hope Grange McLaren Hatfield takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements to their service standards.
