Great service & fantastic staff, nothing is too much trouble & very attentive to your needs & requirements.

I am leaving this review because what happened at Go Outdoors Halifax was disgraceful, unprofessional, and needs to be properly looked into — this is not just "bad service", this is unacceptable behaviour that cannot be ignored since it was a manager , who should set an example for other employees.

My first order was cancelled before I arrived — I then placed a second, completely separate order for the same item. The payment went through successfully, was accepted, and I was issued a valid collection reference number.

When I arrived to collect it, the manager was rude, gave no greeting even when i greeted him first , and immediately claimed this second order was also cancelled — it was not and i provided evidence with the collection number.

He then insisted I had to pay for it again in cash for some reason which seemed strange , completely ignoring that I had already paid in full and had proof of payment and a valid collection number.

I explained clearly that the first order was cancelled but this was a new, fully-paid order — he refused to listen, refused to check the system properly, and refused to hand over what was legally mine.

When I spoke briefly to my friend not the store manager in our native language — which is not against any law, not against any rule, and certainly not a crime — he deliberately seized on this, falsely accused me of saying things I never said, and used that as an excuse to keep my property.

He claimed he had cancelled the order — but it was never cancelled in the system, I have received no refund, and to this day I have neither the item I paid for nor my money back.

This was not just poor service — this felt like targeted, discriminatory treatment. It was clear from the moment I walked in he was looking for any excuse to refuse me. Refusing to hand over goods that have been lawfully paid for, demanding cash when payment is already confirmed, and weaponising the language someone speaks to deny them their property is absolutely disgraceful.

Speaking the language you are most comfortable with is a basic human right — it is not something to be punished or targeted for.

Dealt with Jake a couple of times now and his friendly knowledgable approach was fantastic. Recommended gear based on what we needed.

Fantastic service from Emma (I think!) Just resubscribed my membership and.took some time to come through to the till...patience and the manager helped in getting my discount! Hoorah. A great experience, much better than the one in Huddersfield!!

What a Great shop, 2 chaps serving were very helpful,1 on the till very polite and the 1 helping me choose a shoe was patiently waiting for me to decide, without putting any pressure on me, unlike some other stores. I was able to use my armed forces discount card, and it's dog friendly. Will definitely be back. 👍

Never received email confirming my parcel was ready for click and collect. Called in the shop by chance and my parcel was there. Had been waiting nearly two weeks since placing order.

The staff in the Halifax branch are really good, really knowledgeable and are great with customers.

I rang while away on holiday Steve took the call who was very helpful. He confirmed my order was in stock and offered to save for 2 days to allow me to get back from hol. I was really grateful as the items were in the sale and low in stock.
I collected my order where I met Steve, Jake and Nicola what a great, cheerful, helpful team in Halifax Express store.
