Ordering process can be greatly improved. I ordered a tent to store pick up which was in stock only for the order to be cancelled 24hrs later. I had to call the store for an explanation and the reason was because the store did not have it. A great waste of time! Like other large establishments I would expect them to obtain the stock to the local store that you have selected on-line. The only option I had was to order online which was a further £20 delivery. Summary - If the store does not hold the stock in-store, then please do not allow customers to select the option. The only plus side was the store colleague was helpful advising post cancellation.

Terry was great today. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Squeezed us in for a minor derailleur adjustment. Will definitely be going back to get our 4 bikes serviced in future. Booking advisable as they are very busy.

Renewed my membership several days ago but the cashier has not entered the details correctly so my profile says I’m not a member. I’ve emailed customer services and received a reply with a bunch of FAQs to read/try - unfortunately staff input error isn’t listed! Returned to the store today and bought a rather expensive tent from a cashier who clearly hasn’t heard of customer service. I explained the membership situation to the cashier and he couldn’t have cared less! I guess the rest of our camping accessories for our upcoming trip will be purchased elsewhere!

We were at Basingstoke’s shop yesterday. My husband and I were undecided on a few items and George was really patient with explaining the differences between the various styles. We bought our camping equipment and we very happy with our purchases.

Anya was very polite and helpful, she helped me with which type of shoe would be best for my feet and purpose.

Travelled to the Basingstoke store, which is huge, in the hope of seeing a Zempire Monstabed on display, as it's an expensive thing to buy without seeing. Disappointingly, none were on display, staff said because they get spoiled if left out. Also, they said they didn't have the single size, and only 1 or 2 of the double one, despite the website saying they were in stock there. A wasted journey, though I ended up buying one online anyway, not because of a great price,(similar price to competitors) but because the air-pump which goes with the bed was available, and several other sellers do not stock it. So quite a mediochre experience.

Easy to order online along with good communication to let you know when the order is ready. Also easy to pick up in store - the collection point is not hidden away in a corner of the shop. Would order from GO outdoors again.

Sophie was amazing. She had so much knowledge about walking boots and helped me choose the perfect new boots for my hike in September. She is a credit to the team at Go Outdoors Basingstoke.

We originally went to Southampton store and had a bad experience regarding ordering a tent through click and collect. The didn’t have it in store and didn’t know whether it would be in the stock delivery that afternoon. The staff were polite but didn’t know the answers to anything we asked. When we called and arrived at the Basingstoke branch, the store manager Martin was amazing. Great customer service skills and very helpful. He sorted all of our issues very quickly and we walked away happy. Would recommend this store - all staff were super friendly and had much more selection. Thanks Martin!!

It was amazing the employee Nuriye was extremely helpful and amazing to talk to. She made my experience here really good, and she was one of the most helpful employees I’ve come across in all of retail.

Went to the Basingstoke store to get some top up and new bits for a camping trip next week. As always. Wanted just X and Y and ended up with X, Y, X and half the alphabet. Staff helped and found a trolley for us. As we had a fair bit of stuff, the gent behind the till came round to help with the heavier items and left them in the trolley for us. There membership really helped too and made a huge cost difference on what we bought.
Staff were all helpful and gave sound advice. Not just a sale, actual help.

Came in as a beginner looking for some climbing shoes so naturally was not confident on which brands or type was good. Staff member George was incredibly helpful in picking out the right ones and making sure they were a good fit. Would definitely recommend both him and the store.

This wasn't my first choice place to go to get my daughter's riding outfit. It was close so my daughter and I went to have a look.
I am so pleased we did as I managed to get everything we needed and we had a young lady assistant Sian who walked us through everything and spent the time with us it was really first class service.
Sian done her hat fitting and talked about all the hats we literally picked a colour and Sian did the rest. Sian spoke and showed us exactly how the fitment worked, so my daughter and I know how to fit the hat on her first lesson.
Sian showed us all the difference riding boots and the different stiles and fitment and what boots were for what event as I am as green as grass with all of this the whole service was fantastic and I believe my first choice place to go wouldn't have given this one to one service we received. Sian was extremely knowledgeable about the whole I suppose horse riding world as I have mentioned earlier I do not have any idea, I am as green as grass with this, it's all new to myself and my daughter I feel extremely lucky to have gone there, the pricing was fantastic again I believe we wouldn't have received the level of service we did and for the price we paid anywhere locally to me.
