Simple and easy to set up
It was very simple to set up, without loads of complicated questions. It was also very competitively priced. Had a policy with them now for 3 years and we have complete peace of mind. I would highly recommend Globelink.

Globelink provided me with a 5 month cover for worldwide cruise trip. For the first time ever, I needed to claim (over £2k) for a medical issue.
The emergency contact team were very helpful and provided daily support.
Happy to report that my claim was fully settled, after the usual checking of my claim evidence.

AWFUL
You only really know how good an insurance company is when you have to claim. This company is the worst - customer for several years. They did everything they could to avoid paying. Now I have to take them to the Spanish authorities. Flight canceled mid holiday - refused to cover the replacement flight. Or any of the costs prior to the cancellation.

All claims are assessed carefully in line with the terms and conditions of the policy, and we appreciate that the outcome may not always be the one a customer was hoping for and we hope that after the airline cancelled your initial flight they swifty settled a replacement. If you remain dissatisfied after receiving our response you have the right to pass your complaint to an Ombudsman in your country of residence.

To be fair I gave 4 for ease of setting up travel insurance and quick response to a couple of questions. I have not had the need to use the insurance as yet so can’t comment on the realities of use.

All good until you try to make a claim - trip delay denied based on technicality
I've held a family, annual multi-trip insurance with Globelink for the last 5 years. After my one and only claims attempt this year, I strongly recommend to AVOID Globelink, and will be switching elsewhere, and want to warn others of my experience. Coverage appeared to be great, and the process to buy was easy, hence I had stuck with them all these years (my bad). I've never actually had to make a claim until this year, when a flight I was on was delayed arriving by around 30 hours, costing us a day's worth of work. After a few weeks of back and forth via a cumbersome manual claims process with Healthwatch (their outsourced claims department), where I had to repeat the situation multiple times plus some documents were asked for again and again even though I had already provided them, ultimately my claim was rejected on a technicality, because the departure wasn't delayed, only the arrival was delayed. Apparently this was as written into the T&Cs. Even after complaint and request for re-review, there was no room to budge. I've since researched and there are a many other travel insurance providers who do not have this type of exclusion in their T&Cs, so I will be switching. I can only hope to warn other customers too, especially if you think you are paying money to be covered for trip delays, but in this case your claim could be denied based on fine print exclusions, rather than Globelink looking at the substance of the outcome.

Thank you for the information, the travel insurance policy (depending of policy option) offers cover for Missed Departure, Delayed Departure and Abandonment of the outward and Return trip but it seems your claim circumstances are outside of these insured events.
