Amazing service from James, was great with the kids and understanding everything we was after, wasn't pushy on anything which you seem to get from a lot of dealerships, he was very patient and helped me every step of the way cant fault them in any way.

Just bought a nearly new Mercedes with less than 5000 miles. The car is as expected being a virtually new car, but on closer inspection it has three different brands of tyres on it with mismatched fronts. Instead of fitting a matching tyre the dealership used a budget Chinese brand to save a few quid.
When I asked for this to be rectified and the tyres to be rotated the answer was "we don't believe this is a situation here that requires rectifying, we made the tyres situation abundantly clear in our 147 report". Just to clarify, the report only mentions that one of the tyres is new, not that the car has three different brands on it. "The vehicle was prepared to our standards". To anybody buying a car from this dealership do you think this is an appropriate standard? I do not!

I bought a 2018 Skoda Octavia vRS from Georgesons Cars Liverpool on 10 June 2026. I chose them because I believed they were a reputable local dealership and expected that, if anything went wrong, they would deal with it professionally.

Before buying the car, I was specifically told that the water pump had already been replaced. I was shown what appeared to be a service record/invoice confirming this. The writing was faint, but I could see that a water pump replacement had been recorded.

On the day of purchase my father drove the car for around two hours and everything seemed fine. I then did not use it for about a week while waiting for my insurance to start.

The first time I properly drove the car, I noticed the clutch pedal was returning very slowly. Shortly afterwards, while joining the motorway, the clutch pedal became stuck on the floor. There was a strong burning smell and smoke from under the bonnet. I spent the entire night waiting for recovery and paid £180 myself to get the car home.

I had also paid an additional £500 for a one-year AA warranty/cover package. However, when I contacted the AA while stranded, they could not find any active cover linked to me or the vehicle. The salesperson later told me I should have received an email to activate it, but I had never received that email. It was only sent to me after I raised the issue at the dealership.

I told the dealership I wanted to return the car, but I was passed between the sales and after-sales teams. I was told the vehicle first had to be inspected and repaired before they would decide how to proceed. I also asked for a courtesy car because I rely on a vehicle for work, but this was refused.

The car was eventually collected and repaired. Around a week and a half later I attended their head office, where I had a discussion with a manager lasting around two hours. They initially claimed that I had caused the clutch failure myself and asked me to pay over £1,000 for the clutch and flywheel replacement. I had driven the car for only around 2.5 hours and less than roughly 50 miles since buying it.

They then asked me to pay half. I refused and explained that I was prepared to take the matter further legally. Eventually they agreed to return the car to me without charging for the repair.

The most concerning issue came later. Around four months after purchase, while checking the service history for my own mechanic, I could not find any record at all of the water pump replacement I had been shown before buying the car. I contacted Georgesons Cars again and they told me they could not find any record of the water pump ever being replaced.

That is particularly worrying because the claimed water pump replacement was specifically discussed and shown to me before I agreed to buy the car.

The car itself is currently in good condition, so I cannot say I bought a bad car. However, based on the conflicting information, the warranty issue, the way the clutch failure was handled and now the missing water pump record, I cannot say that my experience with this dealership has given me confidence in their after-sales service or the information I was given at the point of sale.

Was a great experience. The car on arrival was in perfect condition. Big thanks to David ball who made the process quick and easy, great customer service. Would recommend himself and the company.
