I traveled alone to Sarajevo and read a recommendation about the "Sarajevo Total Siege Tour (War Tunnel Included)" in a blog. And they were true, it was AMAZING!
The guide had experienced everything we saw, which made it incredibly moving. It was emotional but also inspiring and beautiful. Learning more about the history of this remarkable city, along with the guide's personal story, was one of the most meaningful highlights of my stay in Sarajevo.

Sarajevo is an amazing city, full of history, beauty and unique features. A complete visit to the city should include a full understanding of what sadly happened in the 90s, when Sarajevo was under siege for around 1.425 days...and the total siege tour gives you a true experience in this regard.
It was my second visit to the war tunnel but seeing it through the honest eyes and words of our guide Adnan was really touching and special. He carefully explained what happened along those years, the implications for civilians and soldiers, also recalling his direct experience and impact in current life.
Moreover, the other locations included in the tour (Jewish Cemetery, Olympic Mountain Trebević, Sniper Alley) helped to grasp the full context and see the city (and what happened) from different perspectives.
The organisation of the tour was excellent, the booking process easy and reliable, and Amela was really great in managing everything.

My mother and I traveled to Bosnia and booked three tours with Funky Tours: Understanding Srebrenica, Herzegovina, and the Siege of Sarajevo. Each and every single guide that we had was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. Thank you to Adnan, Ayla, and Mustapha for sharing so much history and their own lived experiences with us. Thank you also to the co-founder Ema who took time out of her busy schedule to greet us and make sure our experiences were top-notch.

I had the MOST INCREDIBLE experience with Funky Tours. I did the Croatia sailing and it was amazing to see so many hidden gems and national parks. The yacht was EXTREMELY luxurious, the crew was awesome and the food was refreshing and delicious. My favorite part was being able to snorkel and get fresh oysters delivered boatside. Would highly recommend anyone and everyone to do the Croatia sailing tour. It is the BEST WAY TO see Croatia!

I participated in a catamaran trip in Croatia organized by Funky Tours and my experience was great: excellent responsiveness during the planning and reservation process, and professionality both prior and during the tour. The experience of sailing the catamaran was amazing, visiting beautiful spots in the Kornati Archipelago and Kkra National Park that are off the beaten track. The skipper was experienced and the host was thoughtful, professional and friendly. I loved the freshly cooked food on board. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and in good hands. Would definitely recommend the catamaran experience with Funky tours and hope to try other tours offered by them.

It was the perfect girls trip. From the ease of booking, consistent contact to help please our requests and give information, to airport pick up and transfer. That was before we had even started the trip. A wonderful balance of sea and natural islands, relaxation to outings/activities and our wonderful host and captain. A holiday that ticked loads and will be remembered always!

Funky Tours not only has an incredible customer service response via email but also with the guides.
I booked to transfers, the firs from Dubrovnik to Sarajrvo with Edor and the other from Sarajevo to Belgrade.
I was so lucky to have Stefan as my guide during the transfer from Sarajevo to Belgrade. Everything was perfectly organized, and the professionalism truly stood out. Stefan and the driver made the journey seamless and enjoyable. I truly felt like a VIP. Not only made me feel safe and comfortable in the long journey but made it so much fun. Stefan has the perfect stories of history that keep you so interested. I really wished I would had more time to take another trip with them because the transfer was perfectly executed.

We booked with Funky Tours for a transfer tour between Sarajevo and Bosnia for a recent family holiday. They were excellent and we were really impressed with the service, from booking through to the tour itself. Funky tours arranged our airport pickup and a walking tour of Sarajevo. We travelled by train to Mostar and after 3 days there, they transferred us to Croatia via a whole day tour of the sites of Herzegovina.
Contact before and during our stay was first class and all the staff, including drivers and guides, were excellent. Highly recommended.

My son and I enjoyed 2 excursions with Funky Tours during a recent visit to Sarajevo. The office staff were great in confirming the tour details and did not request advance payment. The tours themselves were very full and led by 2 fantastic guides who explained everything very clearly and were very keen to provide maximum enjoyment to their guests. I have been on hundreds of such trips throughout the world, and I consider these 2 to be right up there (otherwise I wouldn't bother to write a review).

We had a lovely time with Funky Tours. Our guide was great, really knowledgeable about each of the places we visited, and gave us time to have an explore ourselves too. We had had food poisoning the day before and we very worried as we were still feeling poorly but our guide was great - he looked after us and made sure we had plenty of stops etc. Each of the stops along the trip were great and really interesting and the resturant we visited for lunch was in a beautiful location- we just wished we had felt a bit better so we could have enjoyed the food!
It was also great to get dropped at our place of stay in Dubrovnik and that saved a lot of stress at the end of a long day

Incredible service received from Ema and crew at Funky Tours. My two boys (15 and 12) and I, booked on their Catamaran for three nights, touring around Kornati and Krka national parks, stopping at some fantastic destinations along the way. The trip couldn't have been organised better, the food was superb and the local insights charmed us. I booked 3 tours with Funky Tours prior to my arrival in Sarajevo.

Really pleased with their service. The back office staff are very efficient. They responded to my emails promptly and were able to organise everything for me quickly. Credit to Edna, Emir, and Amela for being so efficient. On my first day, I visited the office to make the payment. I was greeted by Emir and Amela, who were incredibly helpful with their tips on local travel, taxi arrangements, collecting train tickets, and local food recommendations.

During the 3 tours, I met tour guides Salem, Amar, and Mustafa. They were all extremely professional and happily accommodated my requests to ensure that my young children were comfortable and well taken care of during our full-day tours.

We took the Srebrenica tour with Salem. He was extremely helpful and has an in-depth knowledge of the war history. He made sure that my family and I were comfortable on what was a very hot day.

We took the Travnik, Jajce, and Pliva Lakes tour with Amar. He is a natural problem solver with the ability to find solutions quickly. He was happy to answer all my questions and helped me with a couple of other things as well.

Finally, we took the half-day Sarajevo Total Siege tour with Mustafa. Once again, Mustafa was very professional, providing detailed accounts of the days he and his family lived through during the siege. He articulated his personal experiences in a highly professional manner.

Each of these individuals is an asset to Funky Tours Sarajevo. It is evident that under Ema's leadership, they function as a cohesive team, helping travellers like my family and me leave with such positive and cherished memories of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Catamaran sailing tour in Croatia

We did a three night four-day catamaran sailing cruise in Croatia. The Crew, the destinations, the food, and the overall experience was completely awesome! Our crew Ema, Edna and Mislav were excellent! Highly recommended, Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this area of the world with Funky Tours!

Funky Tours was outstanding. Website provided so much inspiration that we decided to visit Sarajevo for one and a half weeks (instead of just for the weekend). Pre-arrival their bookings team organised an online meeting so we could talk through different options & arrange a schedule.

Sarajevo is full of remarkable history & culture so take Funky Tours Free Walking Tour of the City. There are others you can do including Jewish History Tour & World War 1 Tour if you are interested in this. We also took the Siege of Sarajevo Tour and learnt lots about the terrible event that took place in the 90’s.

Don’t just stay in the City though. Take some tours to other places as well. We paid our respects to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, learning lots about NATO during the excursion. Hiking with spectacular views around Lukomir. Historically interesting trip to Jacje & Travnik where we visited one of the key assembly halls where Tito founded former Yogoslavia & saw spectacular waterfalls. Also did the transfer day tour to Dubrovnik where we finished our holiday - this transfer tour was outstanding as we learnt so much more and visited some impressive sites including Mostar Bridge, Konjic Historic Town, beautiful springs & the most incredible waterfalls to swim at - Kravica Falls.

All of the guides were outstanding, really friendly & exceptionally knowledgeable. We learnt so much from them & they were all inspirational characters which is evident by the fact that we ended up buying on line several books to further enrich our understanding of the history in the region.

Top Tip: speak with Funky Tours before you book your flights. That way you can work out how long to stay in Sarajevo. Lots of other things we wish we would have had time to do including White Water Rafting , Quad Biking +++

And allow enough time in Sarajevo to visit the many museums, take the cable car for views & hikes, & just generally chill in this incredibly friendly city.

The Funky Tours team provided us with a great experience on several fronts. We took 2 tours with them:
1. The bus tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik was very informative, interesting, and enjoyable with nice stops along the way -the driver was quite pleasant and attentive to our needs.
2. The sailing trip out of Tribunj marina was amazing, awesome, excellent!! Alem and the team were perfect hosts. They made sure our needs were met and exceeded. They personalised the trip as they got to know our style of travelling (it was not a cookie-cutter tourist experience).
The sailing trip is highly recommended. The boat was beautiful and well maintained. It was quite comfortable on-board and we had full access to snacks and drinks at all times. The locations visited and the whole Island boating experience was sublime. Swimming at numerous choice spots was perfect, the food served was great, and the restaurant stops were just wonderful. We are appreciative of the family -business touch and the attentiveness Alem, Danira and team showed us. We would go on this trip again, it was memorable and so worth it.

I'm honest about it, it's probably the best proposition on the market you can find.

We booked a family vacation with a small group on catamaran in June 2024 in Croatia & I loved every second of it.

The tour was great & thought through. Thanks to a careful planning, we were able to avoid crowds when we went on a shore to explore the city or to see a national park. We saw beautiful island small towns, swimmed in clear waters a lot, visited Krka national park (an absolute must see if you're in Croatia, it's a magical place), tasted local oysters & enjoyed local foods. Thanks for that tour we saw in 4 days much more than we could have if we stayed on a shore.

Everything was covered in the price, including marina fees, gas, snorkeling gear, and paddle boards. Breakfasts and lunches were also provided. This all-inclusive aspect gave me the peace of mind I wanted for my vacation, eliminating worries about extra expenses.

But more importantly was our group & our lovely hosts. I couldn't wish for a better company for a several-days trip.

Skender tended to all our requests & questions, shared a lot of interesting stories & cooked absolutely delicious meals.

Our small company of tourists was perfectly matched: nobody smoked, no loud partying, it was perfectly comfortable trip for all of us despite coming from different countries & backgrounds. We spent a couple of lovely evenings chatting, sharing stories & never feeling uncomfortable in another's company.

Staying on the boat was surprisingly comfortable, we had quite a lot of space in our rooms, plus a lot of nooks & hidden compartments to hide your stuff & all rooms come with a bathroom. I shared a room with another lady (since it was 3 of us travelling & I had to share room with someone) and we completely comfortable, having enough space for our stuff & never inconvenienced one another.

Overall, I totally recommend chosing this company, you won't regret it.
