I had an unsurpassable experience at Freedom Vision. The team are unfailingly professional, polite and reassuring.
All of the pre-work was carried out quickly and thoroughly and I was given clear advice by the team on the best way forward. The surgeon called me and answered any questions I had.
On the day of the surgery, I was treated with a lot of care and compassion. The operation itself was not painful and I was in and out in 20 minutes. The surgeon talked to me all of the way through, having spent time with me prior to the operation explaining exactly how things would work out.
I left the clinic feeling fine with some minor irritation in my eye. By the following morning, I took the cover off of my eye and I was astonished at the immediate change in vision and the lack of discomfort.

From 1st Appt through to surgery, it could not have gone better.
On the day of Surgery, the Surgeon spoke with me prior to surgery to see if I had any questions.
He was personable, very re-assuring and put me completely at ease.

Excellent care and service from start to finish. Appointments were prompt, there were no delays, and the standard of care was outstanding throughout.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes, and the results have been truly transformative—better than I ever imagined. Every member of staff was professional, thorough, kind and supportive, making the whole experience smooth and reassuring. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic service from Freedom Vision staff who were very 'warm' and patient throughout my procedure. The surgeon took his time to answer all my questions and I never felt rushed. Jeanette, one of the nurses explained what the after care consisted of numerous times as I was unable to retain the information after my cataract surgery in both my eyes. She was very patient and empathic. She also rang me the next day to see how I was coping. I would highly recommend this company.

I have just been discharged from Freedom Vision at SpaMedica Sheffield as a patient and I would particularly like to thank a young lady called Jessica for her kindness and care during both my eye surgeries. I now have 20/20 vision for the first time in my 75 years with the EMV lenses . All the reception staff,nurses , optometrists were friendly and efficient and explained the procedures. I felt at ease with the surgeons too and would like to thank Dr Mohamed Shahin. I would certainly recommend this company to others.

At the Chelmsford Clinic I had brilliant, efficient, caring and informative follow up work/appointments as I had an infection in my eyes not related to the cataract surgery

I would give this company no stars if l could. In March 2026 I had a bilateral cataract procedure. I had problems within 2 weeks and had several follow up appointments which led to laser treatment to address Posterior Capsular Opacification which did not work. On Friday 4 July I was told by the eye surgeon that I would have to live with blurred vision for the rest of my life. There is no remedy for it, again according to the surgeon who performed the original procedure.
I now have to consider what to do next. I believe that insufficient consideration was given to my complex visual prescription, no additional tests appear to have been done (I'm not an optometrist so I can't be expected to know or interpret the information without guidance) and I was not given the relevant information to make an informed choice on whether to go ahead with the procedure or not, given the potential life changing consequences
To say I am devastated is a colossal understatement and I am having difficulty coming to terms with the realisation that this is my life now. I feel I have been desperately let down by Freedom Vision, the salt in the wound being the £8000 l have paid in the belief that l would have clear vision and a future without glasses, as I was promised.
I only have a good opinion of the healthcare technician who has been helpful and caring throughout.

Was so impressed with the efficient the whole process was from reception to procedure. Nicole at Chelmsford was brilliant answered all my questions even arranged my operation so I could be my daughters wedding. Having the lens inserted has made a huge difference to my life. Having glasses for 40 years which I did not enjoy as very active with exercise and playing Golf .Now a complete game changer.Would recommend having it done to everyone.

Seamless process from assessment to YAG procedure. Friendly, professional staff and superb results. Everything is back to being crystal clear. Everything ran to time but it didn't feel as if I was processed or rushed. Hayley and Jeanette had time for questions and made me feel very comfortable.

I have recently had both my cataracts done at SpaMedica Kendal. I couldn’t have had better treatment for the entire process. Everyone was so kind, helpful & reassuring. I was never stressed or anxious as a result of this. The operations were both totally pain free. The results have been absolutely amazing, far exceeding my expectations

The staff are like robots, name , dare of birth, about six times ! The waiting room is not relaxing at all, made me more anxious than relaxed , no room to calm down , no recovery rooms, in and out like sheep to a dip !

YAG Capsulotomy carried out quickly and easily and without the slightest discomfort. Procedure was expertly explained and performed. Premises were as clean as you would expect and the staff were polite and friendly. Couldn't ask for more. My wife believed she was losing her sight and that nothing could be done, so this treatment was a revelation. Both over the moon.

I was particularly impressed with the consultant, who gave me valuable advice and changed what we were proposing to do based on an extensive lifestyle discussion as well as the medical requirements. The rest of the team were amazing and went out of their way to fit in the procedure and consultations within our hectic lifestyle, so things could proceed as planned.

Everyone at freedom vision was so professional but also so friendly and reassuring. Mr El Amir took so much time to explain the complications I faced due to previous surgery and was professionally reassuring. I felt totally safe in his hands. I am delighted with his professional opinion on the potential outcome and the actual outcome and would thoroughly recommend the service.

I was very excited to be getting both eyes done at Freedom Vision Chelmsford on the 19th July and the process was extremely professional and friendly from surgeon to reception.
A week later I am amazed at how quickly my sight has improved so far and my only difficulty is remembering to follow the post op advice. Well done everyone and a big thank you. I am recommending you 100%.
