If anyone has ever owned/is thinking of buying a caravan here…
Owning a caravan here has been the WORST experience.
If anyone has ever owned a caravan here or is thinking about buying one, I'm reaching out to everyone on here who uses flamingolands winter drain downs through their onsite recommended heating and plumbing services, I have used this service provided by flamingoland on many occasions without problem. I asked FL as usual about getting a drain down and they told me to contact their recommended gas & plumber man to winterise. He sent me a message saying all done and to send him £55 to his Halifax account which we did in December 2023. I then suffered some health problems so never got back to van till July 2025 to find my caravan flooded water spraying everywhere, fungi and mushrooms all over the place, the caravan is a total write off.
No water should have been connected if it were correctly winterised but because the water was connected, the insurer I paid through flamingo land won't pay out. The insurance maintains that the caravan was NOT winterised by disconnecting the main water supply so refuse to help. I have contacted FL over the issue and they will not accept liability for their plumbers mistake. They then replied saying that although the plumber is indeed their employer, he carries out the winter drain downs through his own company. So I have contacted the plumber for his insurance details but he will not provide them and has blocked all contact. FL have simply refused to give these details, so we will have to take another route but just be aware Flamingo Land will leave you with nothing!! So be careful when you get work carried out by plumbers recommended by FL as now neither FL nor the plumber are interested in taking any accountability meanwhile my caravan is destroyed
Go to Alton Towers instead
Sent the following email to them and got the response 'we might put some no smoking signs up' honestly a vile place ran by vile people. Hope it gets shut down asap.
Dear Flamingo Land Customer Services,
I’m writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to Flamingo Land, a trip that, judging by the ticket price, should have rivalled the UK’s top-tier attractions. Instead, it felt like paying premium rates to wander around a half-abandoned building site with a few rollercoasters thrown in for nostalgia.
The park was visibly neglected, with litter scattered across walkways and public areas. This not only made the place look scruffy, but also turned it into a wasp haven, ideal if you’re into dodging stingers while trying to enjoy your ice cream. To add to the charm, we encountered multiple uncovered circular holes in the concrete paths with no signage or barriers. I’ve got photos, attached in case you’re compiling a scrapbook titled “Accidents Waiting to Happen.”
There were no visible signs discouraging smoking or vaping in ride queues, which meant that children were forced to stand in clouds of smoke courtesy of parents who apparently missed the memo on basic social etiquette. It’s 2025, surely a no-smoking sign isn’t too much to ask?
Your promotional materials boast 50+ rides, yet the app listed only 26 during our visit. Of those, three were closed all day, including two major thrill coasters that were a key reason for our visit. If you’re going to charge more than Alton Towers, you might want to offer more than half the experience.
There was a serious lack of seating throughout the park. A few scattered, poorly maintained picnic benches don’t quite cut it when guests are walking between attractions and trying to be in the park long enough to get their moneys worth. It felt like a test of endurance rather than a day out, unless the goal was to see how long we could stand before collapsing from standing in queues.
The most upsetting part of the visit was the condition of the animal enclosures. Many looked outdated, cramped, and frankly depressing. My 11-year-old nephew, who was genuinely excited to visit the zoo, said, “this makes me sad,” and I couldn’t have agreed more. The animals looked lethargic and out of place, as if they’d been dropped into a Yorkshire holding pen and forgotten. Honestly, they’d be more comfortable in literally any other country, or even a half-decent wildlife documentary.
The zoo area resembled a construction site, and the overall atmosphere was more “post-apocalyptic petting zoo” than “family-friendly sanctuary.” It’s hard to believe this setup meets modern welfare standards.
In summary,
Flamingo Land feels like a park that peaked years ago and has since been coasting on outdated infrastructure and inflated pricing. The experience was underwhelming, uncomfortable, and at times genuinely upsetting, especially considering the cost. I urge you to review your pricing structure, invest in meaningful improvements, and take a serious look at the welfare of the animals in your care.
I’d appreciate a response addressing these concerns if possible.
Unpleasant employee spoilt the day
My family visited today and I must say as usual we had a brilliant time!!! The only thing that spoilt it was that the main attractions were to close at 4pm. We knew this from the start of the day and accepted it.
For our last ride my sons and I ran to get to Sik and arrived there at 3.57pm where a young lady informed us (with an obvious amount of glee at her new found authority), that they (she),were closing the ride.
If you're closing at 4 then that's fine but to close earlier, as in 3.57 then that's not on. The staff member needs a good talking to about following the rules set out by management and re training on her attitude to your guests. If it helps, she was a fairly pretty black lady with brown hair.
We will be back next year as we come often and we hope this sort of thing doesn't happen again in future.
Another let down by Flamingoland
Park advertised as opening till 5 on website. Lines for most of major rides started closing at 3.30 with paper signs saying rides closing at 4 due to light.
If that’s what’s advertised is what is happening then they should advertise park as closing at 4. Just another nail in the coffin of this once decent theme park. How much longer are its customers going to stand for being ripped off. Also loads of rides running part time sharing staff with other rides.
All in all a huge let down on what appears to be one of the busiest days I have seen this season
The queues spoil it having to wait 2…
The queues spoil it having to wait 2 hrs for a 1.5 min ride. Total waste of money the fast track queues make it even more frustrating never again
Not what it used to be
We booked the lodge with hot tub for a 5 day stay during the Scottish bank holiday. I have been coming to FL for over 30 years and have started bringing my kids now to enjoy FL as I did when I was younger. On a positive, my kids (15 and 9) fair enjoyed themselves. The queues were minimal, the entertainment and amusements were alright and they returned home fairly happy.
Scratch away at the surface and it's not such a pretty picture. Most of the rides were closed or in dual operation - which we assumed meant one operator for both rides, so you would be waiting in line until he/she becomes available. There was next to no food available, we went swimming in the morning and at around 10.30am we went for some "brunch" but there was only 2 toasties and a bacon roll left in the fridge and the swimming was packed! None of the ice cream stalls had any ice cream and the only pizza place had no pizza. We waited almost an hour to be served at the chippy as all orders were made to order (6pm). On a positive, the food was alright, portions were decent. Me and the missus had a cracking steak dinner and bottle of red for £49 in the restaurant at the back end of the park.
90% of the staff were pretty miserable, barely spoke to anyone, looked like they really didn't want to be there. One or two were friendly enough and had some banter with the kids. The girl that lead the pirate show was pretty enthusiastic - but the show itself is also not what it used to be. I remember there was a Nigerian acrobatic team and they were cracking! Now we have a fully female cast (to keep with the times I suppose) who acted out pirate style themes which we were all quite let down by and left before it finished.
We could see a lot of effort had been put in to give the park a Halloween feel! There was Halloween themed decor everywhere. It was just a shame so much more of the park was looking dated and forgotten about.
Writing this review, I do feel guilty, as over the last 30 years I have loved Flamingo Land, even just in the last 2-3 years when I brought family, the park had a good feel to it, but this time I felt very let down and doubt I would return - The week we went is well known to be a Scottish BH (its the same week every year), and there were plenty of fellow Scots there - but the park looked and felt like an end of season wind down.

Very dissappionted alot of rides were closed tickets very expensive for what you get
Disappointed
I have been going to flamingoland since I was a kid and I'm 63 now, iv took my kids now my grandkids, yes we got 8 tickets discounted to £195, but how disappointed i was, barely anything open, so much closed down, barely any animals, this was for my grandaughters 12th birthday, im definitely done with flamingoland sadly.
Don’t waste your money
If Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, flamingo land would be the most depressing.
We had the pleasure of spending £170 and driving from Liverpool for our daughter’s 6th birthday to visit flamingo land. The disorganisation was visible within 10 minutes of arriving at the park. The staff were the most miserable I’ve ever come across, and quite honestly I’d be depressed if I had to spend my day working in that place.
6/7 of the main rides weren’t open. The organisation of the queues and getting people on and off rides was slow and painful. The place was filthy. The food hall was a disgrace over cooked, overpriced food that you wouldn’t feed a dog.
The soft play area was also being used as a staff break room. No atmosphere, music or joy of any kind could be found. The place felt dated and rundown. And I appreciated this isn’t the parks fault but I witnessed serval heated arguments between guests. We just left feeling depressed and ripped off.
I’d sent an email 4 weeks ago to flamingo land sharing my experience, and they haven’t even bothered to respond. I urge anyone to not waste their money and go somewhere else. We go to theme parks in the U.K. and abroad often, and have never had an experience like we did at flamingo land. Exactly disappointing.
Fast pass a joke….
Longish queues for the big rides. entry fee expensive so would look for a deal and book online. went to pay for a fast pass as a birthday treat until they told me if was £50 and only let me on 5 rides/1 per hour and still had to que for the rest. absolute joke, cant imagine anyone paying for this. orherwise a good day out
Expensive for what it is
Never been there but why the heck would you charge 50£ per person for a regular theme park. I choose other ones for example Dryton manor for 29£
Disappointing Experience
Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Money ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Visited today and honestly came away feeling let down. The biggest roller coaster was closed, which was a major disappointment. Most rides had queues of over 45 minutes, and despite paying £50 each for VIP tickets, they didn’t feel worth it at all since you still have to wait an hour between rides.
On top of that, several food outlets were closed, and the burger stand even ran out of burgers by 2:30 PM — not great for a busy park day. The staff seemed undertrained and unmotivated, which really didn’t help with keeping lines moving smoothly.
Overall, I’d save your money and head to Alton Towers instead — you’ll likely get a better experience.
Fantastic park with a great variety of…
Fantastic park with a great variety of rides for all ages. Only 2 rides not working when we visited yesterday 24/8/25. Queueing time was pretty ok on most rides. We had disabled and carer bands and still had to wait and hour on one ride though. The biggest let down, which can't be helped was wasps. We were pestered by them constantly all day. I would advise not wearing heavily perfumed products or they will hound you.
Worst theme park gone downhill
I visited on 20 th August 2025 at ten in morning with disabled adult a teenager and disabled partner . Soon realised four big attraction rides closed animals no where be seen most park with miserable staff and filthy enclosure with wasps all round food enclosures . Park declined 100 percent to August 2024. I visited then and yesterday weekday ie Wednesday 20 August 2025 was worst day . Kids when on 3 rides out whole park . Walked round ghost zoo ie three four animals seen in filthy enclosures . Rides not filled ie two seats empty per ride as watched as waited 60 mins ride witnessed why staff kids not filling rides people fed up go home . So complain get Andy Gilbert say he has right close rides so take money go home we don’t care kids or people only taking your money ie greed . So staff don’t care park , animals or people . Go to Legoland Windsor or Chessington near London for professional experience and day out which staff do care in job .
Not worth the money
Tired, dirty and overpriced. My first visit for a child’s birthday treat. Our 5 hour visit yielded 6 rides due to the queues and a ride breaking down after an hours wait just as we were ready to go. I’m sure there’s better ways to spend £194 for four people. An unpleasant experience not to be repeated.
Come on flamingo land ,you can do better !
Come on flamingo land ,you have been a long time favourite for my self ,children ,and now grandchildren .
Nice new rollercoasters .What about the rest of the park ,that needs updating .Definitely some
scruffiness .And just get rid of the very very old monorail ,maybe put it in a museum .
And what’s happened to the animals ,where are they ?
Lots gone .
We stayed in a caravan for 7 days
We stayed in a caravan for 7 days, price was surprisingly good. Was very clean and got all access everyday for the rides, zoo & farm.
Entertainment was good for adults and children, staff were nice also.
Definitely worth staying if you want things to do everyday.
Only downside is the amount of wasps, it is what it is though.
Overpriced and overrated
Overpriced and overrated. Used to be a good day out but the gate prices now are just robbery in disguise. Go to Alton towers, better rides, better atmosphere and cheaper to get in. Won’t be back for the foreseeable future unless prices are seriously reduced or there is a compelling special offer! You will price yourselves out of the market flamingo land! Sure there’s a basic zoo but if that’s what you want go to a zoo and pay £20 in for the day!
“Flamingo land” where dreams are destroyed and not made.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to spend nearly £200 for three people to be greeted by the enthusiasm of a damp sponge, Flamingo Land is the place for you. The staff were a masterclass in misery and disorganisation, it’s almost impressive how consistently they pulled it off.
The highlight of our day? Being told, with suspicious glee, that you have to wait an hour between rides with a fast pass… and no, you can’t ride the same ride again. The only ride you will be taking repeatedly is the emotional rollercoaster of frustration.
Of course, after patiently queuing for 45 minutes on three separate rides, each one decided to break down just as it was our turn. Honestly, the suspense was thrilling…….would the ride work this time, or would we get another scenic walk back past the queue we just wasted nearly an hour in? Spoiler: it’s the second one.
To really round off the experience, the park had a charming “post-apocalyptic chic” vibe, litter on the ground, sticky tables, and bins that looked like they’d given up on life.
We decided to cheer ourselves up with some fish and chips, which, at their price, I assumed came with a free flamingo. Sadly, no. The best part of the meal was the wrapper — and that’s only because it didn’t talk back to us.
In summary: if you enjoy long waits, broken rides, overpriced food, dirty surroundings, and staff that make you nostalgic for your last visit to the DMV, this is the perfect day out.
Great 4 night break in a Platinum Van
We just got back from Flamingo Land Resort for a Monday - Friday, stay in one of their Platinum Vans. This was my first trip to Flamingo Land for over 30 years, and I was starting to get a little concerned, having read some of the reviews before we set off. But I needn't have been. We had a fantastic time. So, to address some of the other reviews. We couldn't comment on being a day visitor and any value for money associated, but I did speak to another Dad in a queue, who was full of praise that the Park had allowed him to move his ticketed day, and he was having a great time with his kids.
Wasps - yes, there are wasps, just like everywhere at the moment, and yes, they like to hang around sweet food and bins. But they didn't harras us, and the bins were regularly changed to try and reduce them. What else can the park do!?
Long queue times - on cloudy days the big rides were about 25-50 minutes, on hotter days 40-65 minutes, like most other theme parks I've been to. I'd seen it suggested that they could improve by letting resort guests in earlier. I found out on the second day that I could enter the park early and join most queues ready to ride by 10, sometimes before. Sik had a single rider line, which some of the older rides would benefit from, but staff always tried to shout down the queue to bring single riders up to fill the rides. There was a good range of things to do to keep our 8 and 10 yr olds happy. Yes, some older parts of the park were starting to look tired and required a bit of TLC, but other theme parks I've visited over the last few years have been the same. There is investment, but in new stuff, rather than general theme maintenance of older bits.
The Zoo- I had read some reviews about poor conditions and lack of enrichment. That wasn't my experience. There were again some areas that appeared to require maintenance, but not at the detriment of the animals, and they are investing in new areas, and moving animals to keep the animals engaged and improve enrichment. The keepers were all really knowledgeable, considerate, and had an obvious passion for animals.
Accommodation- the platinum van was relatively clean and well stocked, with welcome tea and coffee. We were located in the Hawthorns (right near the evening venue), which worried us, but didn't keep us awake, so no issue there, and only a short walk into the park. We only had a few niggles. The double bed only had a single sheet and duvet on it (this was sorted immediately after we raised it at reception). Some elements of the van lay out are poor. Mirrors on the opposite side of the room to plug sockets (not helpfull for hair driers and straighteners), and lack of hooks, nowhere to hang coats, and nowhere to hang things in the bathroom. Like I say little niggles.
Food- again some really poor reviews. We only ate out on the Thursday, at the Coach House. We booked a table, and the food was great. Also the play area outside, kept the little ones occupied whilst we waited. The food wasn't too expensive and the portion was massive, in fact I was too full to have desert.
Last of all, a thankyou to all the staff. I saw a lot of criticism online about miserable staff. Yes, we saw some grumpy looking staff, but I can't keep a smile on all day, specially in the heat, so I have no problem with lack of fake Disney smiles. All the staff I engaged with were curtious and friendly, making for a great stay. In particular: Errol in reception was always there to help, and sorted any requests immediately. Aisha, the Zoo Keeper that took us on the 'Walk on the Wild Side', was passionate and professional about her job, as well as being kind, friendly and funny, really making our day. And the guys at the 'Crazy Combat' laser tag, although not employed by the park, we're also awesome.
I believe that going in with realistic expectations and being friendly to the staff, will make for a great holiday.
Thankyou Flamingo Land, we will be back.
