The forum doesn't have members to offer any help when there's a serious issue, some try to help but theyre usually new members, the so called experts may recommend what they suggest but if there's an issue with their method no one will help. Especially if a well known member is the responder. Do not be fooled into thinking a place like that is any help to you or your fish during problems.

After solving 20+ recapthas i was still unable to recieve an email confirmation.
I have never had a worse experience trying to join a website to ask a simple question

I tried multiple emails on my phone and a laptop.

Massive amount of recaptchas every step of the way, hidden register button that is nearly impossible to click, refusal to send confirmation email, unable to contact website admin or moderators (contact email; unable to send)
This site clearly doesnt want new members, dont waste your time.

just realised that i was banned cause another family member made account with my ip, contatcted the admin and is a member again. I am a new fish keeper so I have limited basis to evaluate the accuracy of advice I have received. However, I do research other sources and consider supporting rationale and evidence. in doing so, I think I get good information from Fishlore. I also get conflicting information. But I see that as the essential nature of public forums. People are free to share their opinions. Some opinions are based on more evidence and experience than others. Everybody taking information from public forums must take anything they hear with a grain of salt.

I have been to a few fishkeeping forums. I find myself coming back to Fishlore. I get high quality replies to my questions. I also get low quality replies. It is my responsibility to sort out the high quality from the low quality. I am not paying for professional quality advice. I am getting free advice. In so doing, I must understand that some of the advice I am getting is bad advice. That is the nature of public forums. I would suspect that to be true in any public forum.

I feel like my fish keeping knowledge has been accelerated through my participation on Fishlore.

Made a account so I could ask a question Regarding my Aquarium but went to sleep before I posted, I went to sign in and post my question but before I could do anything I was banned. Didn’t give me a reason or what “rule” I violated. I didn’t post any comments or forms, I made an account and signed out for the night. Then I was banned the next morning.

Everyone I have met over the past year on this site has been very friendly and helpful, the moderators are very fair and don't play favorites and are very friendly overall. Everyone is very willing to help beginners, the only "problem" I've noticed is that people can get a bit frustrated with people who refuse to learn and continue to do things that will harm or kill their fish, but that's perfectly understandable since fish are still live animals with feelings. Experience ranges from getting started to 20+ years, there are even some experienced breeders on the site who are very helpful too. If you want nice, helpful, and experienced fish keepers, this is the first place I'd send you.

This forum is really racist, the moderators have their favorite members. If your not “their” kind, don’t open your mouth about anything! It’s a very nasty forum, where people who have little to no experience raising fish tell others what to do. Don’t waste your time, talk to people who actually own fish stores or raise your type of fish can help your more than most people on here. Although some people on here are very nice, not enough are!!!

Mean moderators, I defended Tom Brady, and they didn't like it, I also made a joke about the MCU, they didn't like it, and I posted an Ant-man video, THEN DELETED IT because I remembered they said hell in it. That was the end of me!

Find another forum if you want nice people!

I was harassed by moderator Who removed all of my posts constantly taking things down and saying what I was posting was inappropriate when I was normal regular questions. I was honestly asking for fish identifications what plants to use with certain fish and this guy was just set on making sure I couldn't use the foum.

I got banned like many other people. I have no reason why. I contacted the admin and I’ll see if he replies.
Update after 2 weeks: no reply

I’ve been banned twice. The first time I have no idea why but I was unbanned after contacting another member who contacted the admin. The second time was when a family member made an account with the same IP address and I didn’t know about it. I needed help with a sick fish when I was banned and it is now dead. The moderators and members weren’t rude to me though.

Mean moderator.they didnt see who started .im beginning like this web but eventually i got kicked by moderator and said im rude? Hello.see who is rude? Or maybe coz im not vip member? Lol.oh please... vip comes first huh....

Need ask some questions i have small 11 sec videos of my 5 gallon betta fish tank. White stuff keeps building up top water and filter. I change water but seems come back in a week. Had my betta 15 months

Unlike some fish keeping forums, Fishlore doesn't promote Parroting...where some members repeat remarks they've seen elsewhere but don't have a clue about what they're saying. The level of real expertise on this forum is its main feature

I really like it! It almost feels like social media! The members here help answer my questions. This place feels like home.

FishLore is the first place I go if I'm experiencing issues in my freshwater hobby. There are so many experienced members that are ready and willing to give of their knowledge and time. I also give back when I can.

i think Fishlore is amazing, i have gotten to know so many people and so many great information and helpfull folks! yeah the moderators can be a little strict but thats a good thing, this is a website where kids can go on and they have to make sure its kids friendly.

People giving nagatives reviews here are just immature, like the comment left by Debbie who would always be rude to others who didnt agree with her, but the minute the moderators call her out then she ran to this website to leave negative reviews? dont believe everything you read.

The people are very helpful and kind. I would have given up taking care of fish a long time ago without the advice and support from the people on the forum.

This is my favorite fish forum. Fish forums have become my best friend over the years of keeping fish. Some forums are confusing or in my opinion most people are rude. I haven't met a single rude person on this forum, and I can tell the admins are very diligent at editing replies and deleting inappropriate ones. I have gotten so much good advice and made a lot of new friends who love fish as much as I do. I definitely recommend this forum for anyone who has a fish, even if it's just one!

In my experience of over 30 years of keeping fish & belonging to different forums I have to say that Fishlore is the best I have belonged to, yes there are differences of opinion & experience & yes sometimes they do become heated but I have not witnessed any of the negativity or bullying that some reviewers have posted & I believe that our Mods do a really good job in keeping the site safe & respectful for all members. The one issue that I have seen is new members coming on to the forum asking for advice only to ignore & slate experienced people when they are given advice which doesn't suit what the OP has in mind.
