Amazing service, couldn't be better

I had an issue with the dryer integrated into my washing machine. Living in Switzerland, I had to rely on ChatGPT to find a reliable repair service in the UK. I chose one of the highest-rated companies, First Serve UK Washing Machine Repairs, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
The engineer, Mr. Ali Fraser, was absolutely fantastic. He came the very next day and kept in constant contact, updating me throughout the process. He fixed the problem efficiently and took the time to clearly explain what had caused the issue.

I was initially wary about paying a quote in advance, but this company proved to be completely legitimate and excellent. The engineer contacted me quickly, came the same day for the initial diagnosis, and the second engineer who did the repair was fantastic, both professional and friendly. A great, hassle-free experience from start to finish.

Recommended company I was impressed with this repair…

I was very impressed with this repair service and the advice given before I booked a call-out. In the end I did not require repairs as overnight my freezer returned to working efficiently. I would recommend this company for their communication, honesty and advice. They deserve 5 stars!

Honest advice, prompt and efficient service.

I booked in for a repair on my washing machine and paid the callout fee in advance, as requested. The set up was prompt and efficient and I was given a same-day slot, which I was really pleased about. The engineer called me to get more details and ended up advising me that it was likely to be beyond repair and it would be best to get a new machine. I really appreciated the honest advice and the prompt refund of the full fee. They could so easily have wasted my time and money, and I was very grateful that they didn't.

Great service

Guys we really quick to come out to sort the seal on our washing machine door. Initially I thought it needed replacing but they came out to have a look and we able to save on the new part. Also they don’t double charge in a call-out fee if they have to come and take a look. Highly recommend

I’ve used First Serve UK before and always found them reliable. Their engineers are professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They resolved issues with my old washing machine quickly and even processed a refund for a deposit within an hour after I canceled an appointment. Great customer service and integrity. Waste of money and time

Initially I was really impressed, I filled in online form and they were extremely responsive.I booked in an appointment (£129) for a call out.Engineer was booked in for 9 am, I contacted him at 10, was told I was next on the list. Engineer turned up at around 11:45.Walked in on his phone, looked at the washing machine spent 2 minutes looking at it, said it was broken and left.I know things break but I'd much rather give another company my money for some service or time.

Regarding your appointment, it was scheduled within the 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM time slot, as confirmed in our message:

"Hello Michael, and thanks for your deposit. We can confirm your appointment tomorrow between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Please do not proceed with the booking if you do not agree to the terms below."

Payment Terms and Conditions:

The service call is non-refundable once the engineer arrives on-site.

We do not guarantee a repair, as some appliances may be beyond economical repair or have obsolete spare parts.

There is no additional labour fee, but parts are charged separately if required.

Any workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months as part of our 5-star rated customer service.

If spare parts are needed, we do not charge a second call-out fee for fitting them.


I arrived at 11:45 AM, and upon arrival, I was on a call. I immediately informed the caller that I was with a client and ended the conversation. I then met your wife outside, listened carefully to her description of the issue, and proceeded to inspect the machine.

After conducting a bearing test, I found that the drum made a loud noise when spun, which indicated worn bearings. I also performed a vertical drum test, which showed movement in the drum—both signs of significant wear. I explained that overloading the machine can damage the drum bearings, and your wife confirmed that the machine is often overloaded. I also provided guidance on proper loading (filling the drum two-thirds full to allow proper washing and prevent damage).

Your wife also mentioned another concern—the machine being gungy. I explained that this is typically caused by keeping the door closed when there is moisture inside, which encourages mould growth. Additionally, underdosing detergent in a hard water area like London can contribute to residue build-up. When asked about detergent use, your wife mentioned using one pod, so I advised using two pods—one for cleaning and one to tackle limescale.

She also inquired about alternative washing machines such as a top-loader. I explained that top-loaders are quite rare in the UK and may not fit the available space. I recommended Bosch as a reliable brand and suggested ao.com, which offers delivery, installation, disconnection, and recycling services.

Before leaving, I assured your family that our service includes a 12-month warranty on repairs. If any issues arise—such as a blocked filter due to small clothing items—we offer same-day or next-day assistance at no extra charge. I also took a moment to say goodbye to your little one—she’s absolutely delightful!

Given the time spent diagnosing the issue, offering guidance, and addressing questions, I was quite surprised to see a one-star review suggesting that my visit lasted only two minutes and that I arrived late, stayed on my phone, and walked out without providing service.

I fully understand that appliance breakdowns can be frustrating, and I sincerely regret if our service did not meet your expectations. My goal is always to provide a thorough assessment, honest advice, and the best possible customer experience. Tumble dryer repair

I recently had my tumble dryer repaired by First Serve UK, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The door lock was damaged, but they managed to fix it quickly and efficiently.
