I bought 2x dessert chairs made by Ferm Living in 2022. The chairs were always kept inside during rain and always during the winter. After 3.5 years, last summer one chair broke when someone sat on the chair. Ferm Living acknowledge their products should last longer than 3.5 years and therefore the issue is a product fault but refuse to do anything to compensate me other than 10% off a new product. For £339 per chair these are far too expensive to break so soon.

Our products are created to last many years, so we fully understand the disappointment regarding your Desert Lounge Chairs breaking after only 3,5 years.

We would like to clarify that your purchase was made through a retailer rather than our webshop, although you initially contacted our webshop customer service team. As they do not have access to orders placed via external retailers, they advised you to contact the retailer directly for assistance.

In the meantime, they also offered a discount code for our webshop and guidance on how to proceed with a claim through the retailer. It was only afterwards that they were informed that the retailer had gone into liquidation. As soon as this was brought to their attention, they promptly directed you to our UK B2B Sales Manager to help explore a suitable solution.

My order was misdelivered to an unrelated third party at a non-adjacent business. I did not receive the goods, nor did I authorise anyone to accept delivery on my behalf. Despite this, Ferm Living refused to issue a full refund and instead attempted to shift responsibility onto me for their courier’s error.

I even provided written confirmation from American Express — on two separate occasions — that I had withdrawn a chargeback in good faith, yet no refund was processed. I have now had to reinstate the chargeback in order to recover my funds.

The handling of this matter has been woeful and far below the standard one would expect from a brand operating internationally. I would strongly urge others to consider how delivery failures are resolved before placing an order.

Regarding the delivery, we would like to clarify that under UK law, couriers such as GLS are permitted to deliver a parcel to a neighbour or nearby business if the recipient is not available. We rely on GLS to use their judgement to select a safe and appropriate alternative delivery location when necessary. That said, we understand that in your case, the delivery location did not meet your expectations, and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Following your report, we did offer a solution to resolve the matter. However, as this was not accepted, a chargeback was initiated before we had the opportunity to explore alternative solutions with you. Once a chargeback is opened, the process is handled externally, which limits the actions we are able to take until it is resolved.

While you informed us that the chargeback had been withdrawn, we unfortunately did not receive confirmation of this in our system at the time. We shared screenshots with you to demonstrate this and advised you to contact your bank directly so they could complete the process on their end.

As soon as the chargeback was officially withdrawn and reflected in our system, we proceeded with a full refund, which was issued on 27 February.

We regret that this process was not smoother and appreciate your patience throughout. Your feedback is important to us, and we will continue working to improve both our delivery experience and communication in situations like this.

On January 17th, I ordered a table from Ferm Living, among other things, which I haven't received yet. It was supposed to be delivered within 2-5 business days. It is now more than 1 month ago.. There have been four delivery attempts so far, while we were waiting for delivery. It cost us a lot of time and energy. After about two weeks, I received the table legs, a broken glass carafe, and a pile of heavy bolts (11 small boxes weighing hundreds of kilos). I've contacted Ferm Living numerous times by email. I can’t understand why Ferm Living is not able to deliver the order, which is located less than 100 kilometer/1 hour from our house. The heavy screws have also been in the way for weeks and are too heavy to lift. The attitude of Ferm Living's customer service, which has been involved for three weeks, is too passive and although friendly very disappointing. when will the table arrive and what will Ferm Living do to make up for this mess?

Update review 23/2/2026: Finally we have received the tabletop from Ferm. However, the assembly kit for the table top and table legs, for which I have requested two times at the ferm’s customer client service, has still not arrived. Also the replacement for tje broken Caraffe has also still not arrived allthough Ferm let me know 2 weeks ago that they would replace it. In addition Ferm’s customer services has now requested me to dispose myself of the very heavy boxes with screws. NB I did not order those boxes;they were brought to our house with the first Ferm Living delivery together with amongst other the table legs.
Again a very disappointing service from Ferm Living.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. Delays in shipping, missing items, and damaged products are certainly not the standard we aim to deliver, and we completely understand how frustrating this must have been. This situation does not reflect the level of service we strive to provide.

Our customer service team has done their best to assist throughout the process. Unfortunately, the situation involved a significant amount of back-and-forth communication, which led to some confusion. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and for not resolving things more smoothly.

Regarding the additional boxes of heavy bolts: based on confirmation from our warehouse, these were not included in the pallet shipped with your order. As they are not part of our products, we are unable to arrange their removal or take responsibility for them. We also followed up with the courier, who confirmed they had no record of these items.

On a more positive note, replacements for the missing and damaged items were arranged on several occasions, and order confirmations were shared with you. If you have not yet received these, we recommend checking your tracking information or contacting our customer service team, who will be happy to assist further.

We understand this has been a long and frustrating process. If at this stage you are still experiencing issues with your order, please let us know, as we are more than willing to work with you to find a fair and satisfactory solution.

Fantastisk kundeservice

Jeg har gennem flere år købt Ferm-produkter, primært online, og hver gang tænkt, at jeg skulle huske at lave en bedømmelse, for udover fine produkter, så har de ganske simpelt den bedste kundeservice.
I ny og næ har der været en udfordring med et produkt - en beskadigelse under transport, et produkt der ikke holdt formen, en lampe jeg selv kortsluttede og manglede "indmad" til mv. Hver eneste gang er problemet blevet løst med stor professionalisme og lynhurtigt. Jeg er imponeret over hvor imødekommende og hjælpsomme alle jeg har talt og skrevet med i kundeservice har været - det er virkelig en god oplevelse som kunde. Tak!

I enquired about a child's product because I was concerned about whether they used toxic materials like plywood as there was nothing on their website. I was told it was made of plywood which was concerning due to well known issues regarding formaldehyde. I had to ask three times to be provided with the product specification. The lady (Ines) was rude and dismissive and although she said they wouldn't sell products that were toxic, it gave me even more reason to want the product specification. You cannot trust a sales advisor to confirm when clearly she had never seen the specification herself. Most brands will send it immediately without being asked.
It took them 6 days to get me the information, in which time I lost the chance to purchase the product in the sale. When I asked why it took so long she said "Unfortunately, we have been very busy last week due to the Black Friday sale and had to prioritize our time accordingly." Not only was I made to feel like an second rate customer but I was about to spend hundreds of pounds on children's furniture and now they lost the sale and the customer.
