We are returning customers over several winters with Family Ski. When you have limited time to fit in as much family fun and skiing as possible, you just want it to be easy, straightforward and seamless - and with Family Ski, we find that it always is.
We've visited the familyski resorts it Les Coches, Ardent and Reberty (Reberty is our favourite) and find across all resorts:
- The transfer logistics are clear and operate with no problems
- Chalets are well equipped and spacious
- Meals are excellent and substantial (no lunches required!), with free flowing quality wines
And the childcare / familyski Ski lesson helpers are a major draw. Our children are genuinely excited and supported to learn to ski - and are improving rapidly, heading out on black runs with us in the afternoon, aged 7!

Amazing holiday…thankyou! The service from start to finish was impeccable. The food was also really delicious every time and very well thought out. The chalet itself (Chalet l’Eau Vive) was very spacious, and had a great feel to the place. The beds were very comfortable as were the comfy sofas downstairs…..just what we needed after a day on the slopes. The skiing area was perfect, and my wife said her ski school was exceptional and all the slopes in general were perfect for learners and families.
The whole team did a brilliant job in communicating with us and looking after our needs.
We will be recommending Family Ski to our friends and will definitely be returning (just hope we can do it every year!)

All staff were exemplary and nothing ever felt like too much trouble....I would go as far as saying the dream resort team!

It's hard to recommend this company. The chalets were understaffed with one host in the morning "serving" breakfast for 14 people. Food and plates were dumped in the middle of a large table. As everyone had children in ski school and ski school starting at the same time, everyone was trying to breakfast on a table for 10 people. The kids were hungry by 11 a.m., eating full adult lunches on the mountain, which shouldn't be the case if they had had a good breakfast. A simple problem to fix with adequate staffing, yet the feedback that we received was that this level of service was to be expected. Other chalet providers have 2 hosts once there are more than 8 guests.
Other issues: limited heating on our floor and hot tub out of action which can be put down to bad luck, but understaffing is a company issue.

We’ve been on holiday with Family Ski for almost 10 years. We had one year trying a competitor and we quickly returned. Their customer service, and always wanting to help doesn’t go unnoticed. This approach comes across in all their teams who genuinely seem cared for and supported which shines through in way you’re looked after as a guest. It’s a well oiled, yet very personable business and we have never had a bad experience. Our expectations are high and they’ve never failed to deliver. Great business, great hand picked resorts and chalets, and staff who have always provided great hosting. One aspect we loved was the fact each kids ski class had a Family Ski helper with them which gave us such a sense of relief knowing there was an extra pair of hands. We feel this is a huge benefit and USP. Thank you for so many amazing holidays 👏

By keeping the kids happy, Family Ski ensures that the grown ups will have a good holiday too. A lot of it comes down to simple things, like knowing that they can have the run of the chalet in safety, and being able to discuss menu choices with the chalet staff to ensure that fussy eaters don't feel left out. Family Ski is set up specifically to deal with things like that, which can be problematic in traditional hotels.
We're on a relatively tight budget and initially assumed that a specialist company like this would be too expensive, but it actually came out less than some of the options we were looking at with the mainstream tour operators. The food, drink and accommodation were a definite step up with Family Ski too.
Both times we've stayed with them have been in Ardent. The first time was during a very warm week, and despite it's relatively low altitude, the snow held up very well. The second time, it snowed down to resort level almost every day. I do find the pistes in the Portes du Soleil quite busy, but you're two lifts away from the quieter Swiss side.
One thing to consider, there is pretty much nothing open in Ardent after about 8pm. The restaurant that used to do food in the evenings is focusing on early evening apres instead, which is a bit of a shame as it was a nice, relaxed option for the chalet hosts' night off previously. Family Ski provides transport out to various restaurants that night, but it's not as convenient as walking down the road - especially if you've got older kids who want to eat with you rather than staying in the chalet with the childminders.
Overall, though, I can't really think of anything to fault. We know first-hand how difficult it can be to find genuinely child-friendly accommodation elsewhere. Going with a family specialist saves an awful lot of stress.

Superbly organised, very attentive to any requests, well trained and responsive staff. Excellent accommodation, cleaned daily, great food. A superb holiday organisation, we only ranged from 1 to 60 years old and we all had a great time. Great quiet village setting for a well appointed chalet.

Family Ski is just brilliant. We are experienced skiers with 2 young children and wanted a ski holiday that actually felt like a holiday for us grown-ups too! After some research we booked with Family Ski in Ardent, and loved it so much we booked for a second and third year. The childcare is fantastic, we have used the Pups crèche and the Hounds and our children have loved it, they have so much fun. They have both done really well learning to Ski, and the extra support for the very young ones while they’re at ski school is brilliant. What we particularly love is the food and drink! The chalet hosts’ cooking skills are just amazing. Fabulous home cooked 3 course meals and canapés served each night with fantastic wines. A wonderful breakfast is served each morning, and a sweet treat waiting for you when you get back in the afternoon from a ‘hard day on the slopes’ - perfect with a cuppa and a dip in the hot tub overlooking the mountains! It’s so lovely to be able introduce our children to skiing with a bit of ‘added luxury’. Everyone is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
Very enjoyable family holiday. Stayed in Ardent this year and Reberty last year. Well organised, excellent childcare, great locations etc

Just back from our 6th (we think) holiday with Family Ski. Our second trip to Reberty and we all had an amazing time. Chalet Imogen was modern, clean and very cosy. A great location which was enjoyed by all the family. Olly and Ashely looked after us very well, and the rest of the team excellent: they were unflappable in the face of adversity (landslide closed the road to the resorts but movies and extra snacks on the bus kept the kids happy), and went the extra mile in supporting the older kids as the ESF torch light ski one evening, a special memory for all involved.
Great company in the chalet, the office team did a good job at "matchmaking" the families. The discussions have started already about next year!
Excellent booking system, helpful updates; seamless transfers (despite a rockfall blocking the Moutiers road!). Fantastic chalet and location with welcoming friendly staff; cordon blue food and excellent wine. We couldn't ask for better company or hospitality, and, being so high at Reberty, the snow was wonderful.

This company understands how to make a great ski holiday for parents and kids alike. I have been 3 years in a row to Reberty and love how attentive staff are and how everything you need is covered (from skis being chalet when you arrive to washing machines on hand for that mid week wash).
Staff in the UK are so helpful when planning the trip and that extends to how well trained all the hosts and helpers are as they ensure the kids are happy and having fun which is what the holiday is all about.
You pay an extra for the childcare support but it is worth every penny when the kids are young and it means everyone can ski and have fun.

We just returned from a great week in Ardent. Chalet was good, although not particularly luxurious given the price. However, what you are really paying for is the staff. They were wonderful. There is a very high staff to guest ratio. The kids club was great and ski helpers provide an extra pair of hands for Family Ski pupils making sure that all children had a good time and achieved their badges. The transfers were smooth and well organised. Brilliant holiday!

We had a great holiday. A long awaited trip to France post-covid close down. The money was transferred the company kept in touch about our booking and developments on covid rules. When we got there, the hosts were fantastic. The organisation was great and the food was delicious. We will book again next year!

Terrible customer service, refused to give a refund on cancelled holiday and ignored repeated requests to speak to speak to us over a period of months. Offer of a partial refund (substantially less than even 50%) was only made on commencement of legal action. Fortunately we paid via credit card and we finally managed to recover our money via that route.
This company is an absolute disgrace. They are a bunch of crooks and should not be allowed to trade. We stayed in La Grange, Ardent back in 2013, we were eaten alive by bedbugs. This ruined our holiday and we received absolutely no compensation.
Clearly the management has not improved over the last 7 years. There are better ways of wasting your money.

All I can say is DO NOT BOOK with this company. Dreadful customer experience. Not fulfilling legal requirements to refund holiday. Absolute disgrace. Currently £4000 out of pocket and not covered by holiday insurance as package holidays are legally required to refund in 14-days. That was 7months ago.
Refusal to fulfil their legal obligations even though their website proudly states Abta protected.
Covid is hard on everyone but familyski decided that the package holiday regulations doesn't apply to them!
We are so disappointed by them and their customer service. Don't book if anything goes wrong they will keep your money.
Edit: In response to familyskis reply - we went through our credit card in order to obtain our legal right to a full refund under the regulations. What was offered by familyski was less then half of the value of the holiday which is in breach of the regulations.
