Gordon the new manager can’t tell the…

Gordon the new manager can’t tell the time and got my booking wrong. Wasted the day trying to arrange a new MOT elsewhere. So unprofessional and gone downhill since the last guy left, he was good and organised.
Had to get the calls listened to, to prove he can’t tell the time.

Serious safety issue - Directional tyres fitted backwards on one side

I used this centre to fit two new tyres ordered via Blackcircles (who have been attrotious at addressing).

Unfortunately, the fitters made a critical error: they mounted the drivers side tyres in the incorrect rotation direction (*2). While one side was done correctly, the other side was fitted backward, completely ignoring the mandatory rotation arrows on the sidewall.

This is a basic but serious safety oversight that compromises the vehicle's handling and wet-weather grip. I now have to spend my own time getting this corrected. I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and basic safety protocols here.

Again Blackcircles have been completely inept at sorting this out.

Very Very POOR service

Here is the email that we have tried to send to a non existent complaint email
On Thursday 28/05/2026 we dropped our car off at 8.30 am at Formula 1 in Stirchley , Birmingham. We had been advised, by friends, not to go to this garage but we had booked an MOT and a full service so we went ahead.
We are now regretting that decision and four days in we still have no car.
Our quote number is 127Q202247
Car Reg SM17 YPT
The car failed it's MOT and we agreed for the work to go ahead at a cost of approx £600 ( the original quote was over £1000 but dropped to £600 after a 5 min phone conversation)
The work was due to go ahead on Friday 29/05/2026. We had no correspondence whatsoever on the day and I called at 3.00pm for an update . I was told that the exhaust and the drive shaft that they had ordered had not arrived and it would be arriving on Sat 30th .
I agreed that we would wait an extra day although we had been promised that the car would be ready to collect on the 29th .
On the morning of the 30th I called for an update as no one had contacted me . I made the call at 11.30am and was told that they could see the car on the ramp and the exhaust was almost fitted and that the car would be ready within the hour. They said they would call me to collect.
At 12.47 today we had a call from the manager of the Stirchley Store ( Sid Singh)to say that the drive shaft that had been ordered was completely the wrong one. He said that they were not able to get this part from the two suppliers that they use and we would have to wait until Monday to see if it was possible for them to source it . I understand that the person we were dealing with from Thursday to Friday was named Gordon Needle .
Wec are absolutely dismayed that such a large company provides such poor service. We will now be without a car for at least 5 days after a very routine MOT and service.
This is absolutely unacceptable and we are now in a position where we are going to have to hire a car to be able to go to work on Monday and more than likely on Tuesday.
We are asking for compensation for the inadequate service we have received from your garage . We are out of pocket due to your mechanics incompetence and expect to be reimbursed for our circumstances that are entirely your fault.
The garage is extremely dismissive and not at all apologetic . I will never ever trust you again and will be advising all that I know to avoid you at all costs. I will be going to trading standards if I am not satisfied with your response. This has been an extremely distressing experience that has cost me and my husband a substantial amount of money for a substandard service from you .
I expect to hear a response and to be compensated for your company's incompetence.
I will take this further if I am not satisfied

Damaged car and tyres were not ready

I booked a slot at 1530 via Blackcircles for two tyres. I was on time for my slot and was told the tyres weren't there, so had to come back a couple of hours later. After they did the job, I realised they damaged the lower edge of the car with the jack!

Honest friendly service

I was recommended to this play by FastFit, who I trust completely. I felt my aircon needed re-gassing.

The guys here are very friendly, professional and honest. It didn’t need doing and in all honesty I wouldn’t have known. They gave me valuable information and could have easily ripped me off. I really value their ethics and wouldn’t hesitate to go back! trust is everything

Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service. They called an hour before my appointment and was told their machine was broken and that they would call me when it was ready — they never did.

When I arrived, the man on the desk was rude and unhelpful. I asked for my tyres to be rotated and was questioned as if it was an unreasonable request.

He then told me the rear tyres were “misshaped” and didn’t rotate them at all, without offering a proper explanation or solution. I decided to get a second opinion on this at another garage, who advised me there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tyres and they’re actually in excellent condition.

On top of that, it took an hour and a half just to change the tyres, which is completely unacceptable for such a basic job.

Overall, poor communication, bad attitude, bold face lies and very slow service. Would not recommend.

Would give negative stars if possible!

Paid for hybrid full service but only done oil change no other checks on the list. Just waist money, never going this place aging.

I took my car for its first MOT today…

I took my car for its first MOT today at Formula One on Pershore Rd in Stirchley and was amazed at the service supplied. I was given a price and that's exactly what I paid they carried out the MOT in real good time and I was ready to go . But more than all of this , what made my visit exceptional was the friendliness of the staff there and I would give an extra star to Marcus.Thanks Mate excellent service. I would definitely recommend this company.

So happy I have found such a fantastic…

So happy I have found such a fantastic local garage. I was initially attracted by the excellent online reviews and the fact you can book online which is so user friendly and easy. Great offer on at the moment for MOT and a service too which I took advantage of. The staff at my centre were really friendly, super helpful and I was really pleased to see female mechanics working at the centre which is still an unusual sight sadly. Apart from feeling really sorry for everyone working there due to the freezing weather I couldn't be happier with my results and service - oh and the fact they are dog friendly AND the customer waiting area was piping hot because they had the heating blasting for us. 10/10!

Booked 2 Dunlop tyres to be fitted on…

Booked 2 Dunlop tyres to be fitted on line.
Arrived to find only 1 true had been delivered on the scheduled day.
Rebooked with a new agreed date a few days later again only to find when I turned up the same one true only was available.
So 2 wasted journeys. Everyone is so sorry but blames someone else. No one takes responsibility.
I would expect if I scheduled a fitting and the tyres were not delivered on time that I would receive communication via a text or something. Ended up having to take alternative tyres I wasn’t really happy with.

F1 Stirchley Rocks! :)

It started with replacing two tyres on my wife's car, then remaining two, then full service on my car, then glow plug change and now replacing the whole rear bumper on my Audi Q3! Nice little honest garage and I've found them truthful, down to earth and professional. They can't do everything like the main dealers which is expected but they are much better than the likes of Halfords or Kwik fit if I'm being honest. Personally I don't see myself going anywhere else for any future service. F1 Stirchley Rocks!!! :)

First time using formula one and was a good experience, good price, fast and professional with care for their customers. Nice waiting room and toilet facilities. Staff were nice and friendly and very helpful- will definitely use again.

Formula One Auto centres

Formula One Autocentres, in Stirchley, is easy to book online and a pleasure to visit.

We have been using them to service and MOT our car for at least the last 3 years and are always greeted with a warm and friendly smile. They are very reliable, quick, and value for money. No unnecessary work done and never feel ripped off. Love this place!

Due to a fault of a previous garage…

Due to a fault of a previous garage Josh and the team found fault and repaired, From start to finish the customer service was excellent, would highly recommend, and I defo won't be going anywhere else for my car troubles thanks guys ☺️

4th Visit - as good as always

4th visit to F1. Needed 4 new tyres for MOT. Checked online at first, for prices, followed up with a call to F1, Stirchley. Spoke to Jordan. really helpful in getting me to the best deal. Booked for 10.30 Saturday, arrived 10.15. Car was ready in less than an hour, as promised. All good, very efficient, friendly. No doubt, this will continue to be my first choice for tyres in the years to come.
