Mini TPMS valve

I took my wife’s mini in yesterday as it had a slow puncture. The guys were brilliant! Friendly, efficient and took time to explain the problem - a leaking TPMS valve. The waiting area was spacious, comfortable and clean and the car was fixed in next to no time. And to that a very competitive price, what’s not to like?

Brilliant service

Brilliant service. I had an advisory on a tyre at the MOT. Was shown the tyre when it was off and explained it is fine for a while longer. Great service and honest too! Always tell my friends to come here!

Chassis casing repair

We had a cracked chassis casing after hitting a pothole on the A52 traveling from Norfolk to Nottingham. We stopped at the Grantham Formula One and they fixed the problem and got us back on the road in 15 minutes. Staff were really friendly helpful and knowledgeable and provided an excellent service and there were good waiting room facilities. I highly recommend this garage.

Mechanic beeing blind or not experienced/qualified for this job. Receptionist been rude to answer question and started to shout on me after saying that mechanic was wrong. Never comming back to F1 Grantham...

Outstanding customer service

Outstanding customer service.

I called the Grantham branch today to see whether they had any availability to recharge my car’s air conditioning unit- they fitted me in despite being back to back with other customers.

I decided to wait at the branch and with it being extremely hot, the chap in the reception even carried a chair outside in the shade for me! Where else does that happen!

Duped into extortionate price for a simple job

Over the past 6-8 years I’ve been using Formula 1 Autocentres and particularly my local autocentre in Grantham. I’ve always received a fair price and had cars serviced and tyres fitted.
Prices have always fluctuated but on the whole been competitive.
My recent experience has left me not wanting to ever venture into another Formula1 Auto centre! Abrupt; limited understanding of customer care; rude and reactive.
My daughter’s car needed an exhaust and two front tyres. I’d used the website to book things in the past but on a previous visit the manager had said just to pop in and they’d match the website prices. I’m quite a handy chap and had I got more time I could quite easily replace the exhaust. I was pushed for time so booked both jobs in - tyres: I requested budget tyres which were £46 on the website…they gave me £58 tyres?!? I explained that the back box on the exhaust had snapped off from the main exhaust pipe - I was then told the job including tyres was going to cost me £380+ I explained that I’d already costed the exhaust and a full system could be purchased for £139?!? The Back box was £48?!? I explained that their prices were too steep over the phone and was told the part had already been ordered?!? I felt bullied into accepting their work. Upon contacting them later that day to ask if the car could be collected I was informed it was on the ramp having some welding work done on the exhaust - I was told to collect it in about 30 minutes. I arrived at the garage and was presented with a bill of £380 as shared on the phone only to question their prices and why their website offers lower prices and free tracking and alignment etc. I was told that was because it’s the website?!? I didn’t accept this and said that money is tight for everybody and you gave potentially got a new customer (ie my daughter) to your garage and you are ripping her off before she has even begun to become accustomed to rogue garages! The manger or member of staff was joined by all the garage team as it was now closing time and proceeded to tell the team that they’d rip the exhaust off if I was refusing to pay. I explained again that I was not refusing to pay but merely stating that their prices were fantasy in relation to the actual costs of parts available. They batted this concept of the parts being bought in specially from Sheffield to fit my daughters model of car yet after they could see I was becoming uncomfortable with the conversation began deducting things from the price and reduced the bill to £253???? I wax bemused that such a reduction could be made! It then got worse- my daughter drive the car home only for the exhaust to sound as awful as when it had gone into the garage! I’d had a gut full of being bullied, intimidated and the thought of the exhaust being ripped off as a day had already been wasted trying to get it sorted! I resorted to taking the car to an independent garage and getting the work rectified - suffice to say they were in utter shock and disbelief at the awful work carried out - welding a cost exhaust joiner?!? No wonder it was blowing - anyone knows you can’t weld those aspects of an exhaust! The independent garage were so disgusted that they videoed and photographed the bodged carried out by Formuka 1 Autocrntre Grantham. I’m saddened that I’ve been treated this way after so many years of such great experiences - such a shame both pricing and customer care couldn’t be paramount to your business - you’ve lost three vehicles from our family.
This experience left me with no confidence in Formula1Autocentre Grantham; I reviewed and contacted Customer care immediately that evening with no response to my issues. I have now paid out yet another bill for the work to be rectified by the grossly incompetent technician in charge of welding apparatus! The videos and photographs can be shared socially to prevent others from experiencing the same disastrous service. I will await any recompense or apology from Formula1 Autocentres prior to any consideration as to whether the imagery should be shared.

Refused to do the work

Visited my local branch this morning, with a potential clutch issue. Refused the work because “it’s a big job” and “don’t have the staffing capacity to do it”. Had to drive the car away, potentially causing more damage to the clutch and gear box

disgusting, rude and aggressivebehaviour…

I have to report disgusting behaviour from the Grantham branch. Firstly was able to book a Saturday Mot online, only to be called on the day and told they do not mot on a Saturday. We then had to rearrange a family member to drop off and collect. The car failed and was booked in to do the work required to pass and the advisories. It was booked in for Monday 17th and was dropped off on Sunday. We heard nothing so expected to collect the car. When my husband rang he was told work had not been started and would not be done that day. I then called to establish if the work would be done on Tuesday. The man who said he was a divisional manager, was rude and spoke in an aggressive manner. He said that someone had an accident and he had to leave his house at 6. I expressed my sympathy and asked why no-one had called to explain. No apology or explanation was offered. He kept saying that the car had to be retested to see what needed doing. I said that as they had the mot paperwork they knew what needed doing. He would not listen or answer my questions. Kept repeating how short staffed he was. He said if I refused to listen he would hang up. I said I was listening but did not understand his answers. We left the car with a request for them to call in the morning. My daughter called in the morning and he was, again incredibly rude and aggressive. She asked to be allowed to speak and he said no. We told him we had a new born who had to go back to hospital and he couldnt care less
He told us all to fetch the car despite us having paid for the mot. We fetched the car today, no way would I trust this garage to carry out any work on my car. He lied and said that we had sworn and been rude. I am a customer service manager and would never swear on the phone.I would like a full refund of the mot cost as we now have to pay at another garage. His attitude needs to be addressed it is appalling and very frightening for females.

On this occasion I cannot rate high. I have been using formula 1 since 2018.
Last year my car pass MOT- to my own surprise as I have noticed rattling noise coming from the front of the car. In April I have visited another garage after making trip to south of UK the mechanic was surprised how I was even able to get all the way there. There were major issues with brakes, broken spring coil- reason for the noise, not too mention wipers. That’s were the trust was broken with formula 1. I travelled with my 4 year old child. In a car that was not safe to drive. The mechanic had fixed all the major issues. Replaced the spring coils as well.
I was confident that my car is is good condition.
When I received a call that has failed MOT I was really surprised, and said all spring coils were replaced how is that possible that within 10 months I need a new one again. The Formula 1 gentleman explained it can happen. I have accepted that, and he promised to call me back with a quote. After waiting for almost 4 hours for the quote I decided to rang myself as it was coming to garage closing time.

I have been told they tried to contact me but it went to voicemail- I have been waiting for that quote and have not received the call! Eventually I have been quoted it was about half an hour to closing time. I have accepted the quote and asked if it will be done today. I have been told it will be Monday.
I said I am very disappointed to wich I have heard “ok” - not something I have expected to hear. I said I will come and collect the car and I will take it somewhere else. No hard feelings but if you cannot take the time to do what you’ve promised I will take my business elsewhere. A simple “ sorry I have rang the wrong number, or I’m sorry I forgot - that will be more than enough for me to leave the car until Monday with them and get it repaired. But as it shows they don’t really care that much.

Needless to say……

Needless to say, an interim service and first MOT for about £130 incl VAT for three year Kia Ceed is a no brainer. Would have been a £100 more at main dealer. Been at this garage before and ok. Ready as requested with phone confirmation but….when the phone call said I have slight ‘out of wheel alignment’ they could do for £80 I was taken aback. Picked the car up and I got a description print out of the erroneous front wheel picture. The rear was within tolerances but no doubt they would pinpoint to zero for perfection. I didn’t take up the offer and I was glad I didnt. Took the car to a local competitor two days later and guess what - completely different readings !. Both alignment machines gave computer print outs. My new cost £37.50 for very slight front n/s out but F1 said it was my front o/s which the second garage said was ok. The result is - it’s a lottery out there!. Believe what you like but instinct tells me to tread with caution. Easy money for any garage to boost the coffers!. The second garage - 10 mins to set up and 5 mins for adjustment! (assuming they were correct with their readings). Unless you have an obvious problem with wheel alignment (mine had no symptoms) I am inclined to forget. It’s just another money maker in a lot of cases. By the way, I am not at all saying a main dealer service will be better. Had problems with them last year on my Sportage stating things like wipers need replacing when they were perfect!. It’s the people behind the facades of local retailers or main dealers that make each organisation what it is. Every year the personnel of each garage is different and that’s what let’s them all down. No continuity, no real loyalty, little customer satisfaction. That why all garages will be treated with scepticism.

Paid £47 for a diagnostic which they…

Paid £47 for a diagnostic which they couldn’t tell me, still got charged. I know what the issue is and even I can scan it on a Bluetooth obd 🤣 propper joke tbf
On the invoice it says 57845 miles which is wrong aswell since my cars over 87k miles 🤣. Don’t even think they looked at my car

Good customer service

I booked my car in for an MOT at Grantham I was early and Simon the manager greeted me with a smile and said that’s ok we will get straight on to it . I returned after an hour all good car passed . Really pleased with the service.

For tyre and general vehicle maintenance, I used the Grantham branch of F1 Autocentre for many years now. Throughout the time the business has consistently provided a very professional service, great

I had an emergency with an oil leak after a dealership service. When I rang F1 Grantham and spoke to Jack, he couldn't be more helpful. I took my car to the garage, and he looked and checked out the issue with the car, going above and beyond. First-class service, respect given and outstandingly supportive with advice on what I needed to do next. I will be taking my car to F1 from now on.

Excellent service at a fair prices

I have used this branch of F1 Autocentres many times over recent years. In this last couple of weeks, they've done a major service, and replaced all my discs and pads, and MOT all £300 cheaper than the main dealer nearby. Excellent friendly service on the phone and in person at the counter. I then had a couple of unrelated issues with the car and they priced up the job, fitted me in promptly, did it at a fair price, and really looked after me. Nice waiting room and clean loos too!
