70 year old teenager trying to get healthy and fit after prostratectomy…
Decided to try swimming as a low impact activity… many years after teaching my younger daughter to swim… not been since.
Anyways…
I paid for a single visit to suck it and see... early morning slow lane swimming…loved it !
And KayCee made me feel very welcome and also helped me with getting used to modern cashless stuff and qr code entry with app…
Felt great after that first swim… didn’t go too mad… got home…went on the website… signed up for a year’s membership …
Have now been for a swim 6 days in the last 8… friendly helpful staff, good facilities…
I plan to do the simple gym induction to learn how to lift a few weights, use the sauna and book some swimming lessons for someone like me to improve my swimming strokes and technique…
I should have mentioned the fact I’m talking about Farnham Leisure Centre, Dogflud Way, Farnham, Surrey … 👍

The body combat session was taught by an instructor who was encouraging and enthusiastic. His teaching style showed combinations to suit all levels of fitness. I felt like I’d accomplished something by the end of the class.

I have many growing issues with the swimming lessons at everyone active ( Farnham). Just to clarify this isn't a straight on full attack, as my children's swimming lessons have been fine with no problem up until about 6 month to a year ago.
Over the past year, progression of my two children has grinded to literally snails pace, progression charts hardly ever updated ( could be months at a time). This has never been an issue before and now it's affecting their motivation and love for swimming. Prices continue to go up, standards and progression go down and it's got to a point where it's not acceptable anymore.
Waiting to hear their views on the issues.

So beyond frustrated with how this company runs. Signed my kids up in aug 2023. Old daughter great experience. Younger son awful experience. Reported after first lesson to manager how his teacher was. Had him moved to ‘their best teacher’ teacher was better but couldn’t engage my son in a group environment. Put him on 1-2-1 lessons. Site manager agree two months of credit for my daughter. 6 months later and an extra direct debit for my son taken when he’s not on group lessons has left my account but 0 credit.

Spoken to the manager and lady responsible for credits and refunds weekly- still waiting. Beginning of this year I was told it was to go to head office to approve a refund and it’ll be a few days.
2.5 months later they e got it ready but only half.
Just had a delightful conversation with the manager whom tried convincing me I was owed it. Had to send bank statements and copies of emails to prove what him and others promised.

Six months and you ring to get a credit. Absolute joke.
Oh also they had my daughter in too low a class. When I asked the tutor whom she’d been with for the whole time how she was doing, she said when she gets three ticks in each category she’ll move up. I asked how she’s doing in each category as the app had been down for months. Oh actually she’s passed all levels….. she can move up
