The service department staff go above and beyond.

I have been a customer of Evans Halshaw for nearly 18months. The sales team are excellent and we're very easy to deal with.

The service department are also very helpful, hard working and go above and beyond to help. Thanks to Rowan, Kerry and Connor for all your help.

I really don't know where to start but could write for ever, and that would be a waste of time. Of all the negative reviews, it's just the same all the time, they care nothing once you have driven away not one iota, your just a mug to add to the list. There isn't one person at York that's fit for purpose, all charlatans, and mug you off with every phone call. Please don't answer my review, your business should be closed down in the morning first thing. Shame on all of you rouges, horrible people, avoid this garage like the plague. I've been to head office and they where happy to not tell the truth to them, honestly avoid at any cost.

Avoid avoid avoid. If you have any problems they will not respond to you or your emails. The only way to speak to someone is by raising a complaint in which they call you and state they will get back to you and then never do. They have no respect for law and rights. They have no care for customers. They will not respond via email or in writing and they will delay at all opportunity. This goes up to management that covers both sites in York. Avoid!

agreement was we purchased the car on the understanding it would be available on Friday 6 days later, yes was the promise so paid a 500 deposit , 6 days went and no car so asked for deposit back, loads of promises that it had been returned but nothing, 6 weeks later and still battling with them what a pure scam company who treat you like something you find under your shoe.

Always receive a first class service from the staff at Evans Halshaw. Professional and always helpful and forthcoming with advice when necessary.

All positive until I'd signed on the dotted line for my new car - then terrible service. The car's arrival was delayed and communication from Evans Halshaw was like getting blood from a stone.
I have now discovered that the service plan they sold me - based on services every 2 years - may invalidate the extended warranty. I have been trying for a week to get an answer without success - they just don't care once they've sold you the car.

Update : When I queried the service plan I was sold, the salesman wrote 'Our plan most definitely does not void your warranty'. They have finally - two weeks later - admitted this is not true. The plan they sold me invalidates the extended warranty ! No apology from the sales team. Disgraceful customer service - steer well clear of Evans Halshaw York would be my advice.

Please don't be fooled by the Customer Services standard reply below. I have contacted them, giving clear details, and asking to raise a formal complaint.

They haven't even bothered to reply ! As I say, a company that doesn't care once they've made the sale.

I have used Evans Halshaw on several occasions in the past with positive experience, however Evans Halshaw York has been the worst experience I have had when buying a car, on the test drive I identified a noise coming from the front breaks, I was told by the salesman it would be sorted prior to collecting, it wasn’t so the car had to go back after a week of owning the car to have new brakes fitted.
When I collected the car the sales guy showed me the new charging cable in the boot, when I looked in to the boot I asked where is the parcel shelf as it was missing.

The 2 year 16,000 mile service was missed by the garage, I asked multiple time why with no real answer.

The reverse camera didn’t work, when I asked the sales guy said that model did have one, I looked into this and it did come with a camera, another trip back to the garage to sort that out, they also completed the service on this visit.
The sales and service staff don’t so much as to tell lies but they don’t tell the whole truth, I have had to escalate this situation to Evan’s Halshaw head office and Vauxhall uk due to the lack of response from the team.
The service manager didn’t know the service intervals and said he would find out and call back when he didn’t, when I called him he said we keep having the same conversation?
I wouldn’t buy a car from this garage again and I will be very careful when buying from Evans Halshaw in the future. This has been the worst experience I have had buying a car

Purchased an MG3 from Evans Halshaw York. All OK until we collected it. Was taken to the NEW vehicle after being assured it had been washed and valeted, and was shocked to see it parked in a lot with all other cars, the tyres were caked in mud and the drivers side inside trim and carpet was covered in mud stains. On inspecting the external condition found a number of deep scratches to the rear driver's side wing. I pointed this out to the salesman and the unclean condition of the car, and was told there was no one available to rectify this and to come back the next day. As we lived in west Leeds I was not altogether happy about this but agreed.
When we returned the next day we were then told it could not be done that day as the scratches were to deep and to return the following Monday. Iwas not happy with this so agreed for the car to be collected and returned from my home address. I also agreed the level of compensation as a full tank of fuel and a set of car mats. This was agreed and the car was returned repaired with a full tank of petrol. As of today we are still awaiting the car mats(nine weeks later) despite various assurances they have been ordered. I have escalated thus issue to Evans Halshaw Customer Care portal and have not even received an acknowledgement. I have previously purchased through Vertu Volkswagen and the difference in service is huge. I will not be purchasing another vehicle with this firm again

2nd Edit promised an urgent contact twice, am still waiting, although don't hold much hope. Evans halshaw you are way way behind all other dealers I have worked with in the past!

Purchased a brand-new vehicle from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall York, only for it to arrive damaged on delivery. What has followed has been an extremely disappointing experience in terms of customer service and aftercare.

After reporting the damage promptly, I was told that because the delivery paperwork had been signed and photos taken, there was “nothing” the dealership could do, and I was instead directed to deal with their third-party transport company myself. This is despite the fact that my contract is with Evans Halshaw, not their delivery contractor.

I responded explaining this and requested that the dealership take ownership of the issue and help resolve it appropriately. Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up emails and even escalated to Vauxhall customer care complaints — after a further 2 weeks i have yet to get a response.

Being left with a damaged new vehicle and effectively ignored after purchase is incredibly frustrating and stressful. The lack of accountability and communication has fallen far below the standard I expected from a major dealership group.

I am still awaiting a proper resolution.

The fault was rectified & I was kept up to date.

Terrible service, unreliable and lacking in honesty. My son's car collection was postponed 5 times, no clear answers given as to why other than 'awaiting parts' but which parts seemed to be a state secret. The lack of support, empathy and help for a customer who now didn't have a car to drive was outstanding (in a really bad way). We went to EH in Hull and had a completely different experience, supportive, smooth, honest and they went out of their way to be helpful - the exact opposite of York. Would not recommend EH York to anyone.
