i'd previously wrote my review all was good but after a week i feel ive been done over a bit , more marks & a few things i didnt notice or somehow have magically appeared , car on the whole is good , terrible fuel consumption which i find odd , marks in the dashboard , bodypanels out of line i didnt notice & they werent pointed out cos everything was priced in so i missed a few things that probally would of made me think twice about the purchase , that said adil was nice decent friendly guy & did put work into getting the deal done sorted everything that needed doing i have lessons learned for next time , DO NOT LET THEM PUT GUARD X ON YOUR VEHICLE , now my steering wheel is peeling wish id not bothered.

I didn’t even want to leave a review, but this needs to be public for safety and what’s right.
Bury were only interested in securing the finance commission (£3,000 in my case). Despite repeated requests, I was never provided with the service history or any record of work carried out on the car before sale. I live in York, which is quite far from Bury, but I chose this car specifically.
From day one, the car had creaking noises at the back of the seats. Bury avoided dealing with it, and it was only resolved after Darlington stepped in and chased them to speed things up. Credit to Darlington, they were professional. Bury were not. I was also promised a courtesy car for warranty issues, which never happened.
The first time I washed the car, I discovered long paint marks where the paint was clearly damaged, lines coming off on the cloth, typical of a rushed cosmetic repair. This was never disclosed. I also paid £400 for GuardX protection. Had the car been shown properly before signing, I would never have agreed to that.
Additionally, the GuardX applied on the rearview mirror was done so poorly it is full of bubbles. People legitimately looked and said I should have had it done by a professional.
The final straw happened on my first long trip abroad. While driving on the motorway, the left tyre started losing pressure immediately. There was no puncture or cut, it only loses pressure when cold and at speed. I am now stranded in France because the car is unsafe to drive.
Even worse, the tyre pressure monitoring system reports the issue on the right tyre when the fault is actually on the left. That means the sensors were incorrectly set up at handover. At best this is negligence, at worst the problem was known and concealed.
I had to call Darlington again, and they told me to try contacting Bury. In the end, they had to help me another way (Darlington), bury just kinda laugh behind the phone.What a nightmare.
This was also a work trip, so I lost money and had to spend much more on accommodations because I was stranded, all after spending £30,000 in their showroom. Absolutely unacceptable.
When I called from France, my calls were passed to the right department and then repeatedly hung up. No accountability. No support.
Rude and completely unprofessional. I will never buy from Bury again.
What makes this worse is that Evans Halshaw York have always been excellent with my previous car, proving this is a dealership issue, not the brand.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but my experience with Evans Halshaw Bury has been so unbelievably poor that I feel compelled to warn others. The communication between staff is shockingly bad, and the whole process of buying what was supposed to be an almost brand-new car became a weeks-long ordeal that still isn’t resolved.

I was told I could take the car home the same day. After waiting around for four hours while they sorted paperwork, I was suddenly informed the car needed four new tyres and I’d have to come back tomorrow. Fine — annoying, but manageable. I asked to see the car again to double-check a few things, only to be told it was “in for valeting,” which I’d later find out was simply not true.

The next day I get a call saying the car is ready… only to receive another call while I’m on the way there telling me they’d actually put the wrong tyres on it. So yet another day wasted.

When I finally saw the car? It was not cleaned at all. They insisted it had been valeted, but the boot still had someone else’s belongings inside, crumbs on the seats, and general mess everywhere. I asked them to valet it properly — promised 30 minutes, took over an hour — and even then the car came back with a broken badge and missing parts at the rear.

The ONLY person who stepped up and tried to sort things out was Leigh, who has since gone on maternity leave, and the entire experience fell off a cliff after that.

I was told the car came with two keys — they couldn’t find the second and promised a replacement. That was over six weeks ago, and I still don’t have it. I was told to get the car valeted myself and they’d reimburse me. That reimbursement took weeks of constant chasing.

And now? I’m flat-out being ghosted. I’ve emailed multiple staff members, including Tom, and have received absolutely no reply or update. No responsibility, no accountability, no follow-through. For a dealership handling expensive purchases, this level of communication is unacceptable.

What makes this more frustrating is that it all started off well — Tom in sales had great banter and seemed helpful. But the moment I chose the car, everything fell apart.

I absolutely do not recommend buying a car from Evans Halshaw Bury. I’ve been patient, polite, and given them countless opportunities to resolve things, and instead I’ve been ignored. Their communication is dire, their organisation is non-existent, and I have zero confidence in them.

Avoid the stress. Avoid the hassle. Just avoid them altogether.

I recently purchased a car from Ford Bury, Adil couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating towards myself as a first time buyer from a dealership and my mum who’s suffered multiple brain injuries, he was so patient and kind at all times. It was an absolute pleasure to do business thanks to him. Loving the new car too!

There is a clear lack of professionalism and courtesy from your reception staff. I found the reception staff unhelpful and dismissive. My concerns and questions in relation to my new car I recently purchased from you were ignored and treated as an inconvenience. I expected a much higher standard of service from your team .

I have recently received outstanding service from Elan at Fords of Bury.
I initially walked into Fords of Bury to enquire about a car that was located at another location. Elan greeted me warmly and immediately took the time to explain how we could arrange for the car to be brought to the Bury showroom. He patiently walked me through the details of PCP financing, providing various cost options based on different deposit amounts and my budget. I found him to be incredibly thorough and informative, making the whole process much less daunting.

Following our initial conversation, I returned to test drive the car. After deciding to proceed with the purchase, Elan promptly submitted my finance application. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen issues with the finance company, I was initially unable to take the car. Both Dave and Elan were incredibly accommodating during this frustrating period, doing everything they could to help. Elan even went above and beyond by kindly driving me to the station!

Throughout the entire process, Elan kept me consistently updated on the situation. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him. Ultimately, he personally delivered the car to my home, which was a fantastic and much-appreciated gesture.

The level of service I received from Elan was truly outstanding. He is a credit to Fords of Bury. Furthermore, all the staff I encountered at the dealership were exceptionally nice and friendly, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere.

If you are looking for a new or used car, I would not hesitate to recommend Fords of Bury. In particular, I highly recommend seeking out Elan – you won't be disappointed!

This was my second purchase from Evans Halshaw in Bury. On both occasions I dealt with Elan, if I'm honest he's the reason I came back the second time. Nothing was too much trouble, he's very honest and really really helpful. He's a real asset to the company and I can't thank him enough.

So I have just bought a used car from Evans Halshaw Bury.
Things that have impressed me so far:
Very quick response on the phone. I did not once have to wait on hold to talk to someone.
Accuracy of the car description with the car I then expected. There were no surprises
Straightforward to take it for a test drive and for a decent amount of time.
Sales team - were all very friendly and Elan who I mainly dealt with was really helpful.
All queries answered quickly

Things that could have been better:
Only one thing really. On the day I arrived to test drive the car I had to wait around for quite a while - to be fair I was late due to traffic and the showroom was very busy with a lot of other people waiting. It was a Saturday just before lunch.

I will update my review once I have had the car a couple of months but I am not expecting any issues

Poor from the start, looking for a car to buying the car to then a having number of issues with the car. Refusing to take the car back, refusing to fix it for 6 months. Had my car for 2/3 months. I had to go there several times to show them the faults because videos wasn't good enough apparently. Then, 5 months later im getting parking tickets and debt people calling me asking for hundreds of pounds because evenhalshaw hasn't bothered to post them and then lie to me on the phone (which is recorded) saying they have when clearly they haven't since I get a final notice one but not the other 5 warnings haha. Absolutely awful place. Never buy from these again. Wish I didn't bother.

Friendly helpul staff, car checked in and out quickly and easily. Car service and MOT done within the day and car cleaned ready for pick up. I like the multi item check of everything important. Staff called me when car was ready it a convenient time. The car is running really well.

Brought my van in for attention and repair, the two girls on reception were very friendly and helpful also had a problem with drivers side window that wouldn’t close so a member of the maintenance team came out to help and did a excellent job before it started to rain, they also did a excellent service/repair on my vehicle a few weeks later 10/10 well recommended .

We purchased a Ford Mustang Mach E and Elan was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process.
