Made an enquiry about a car, got a reply from a salesman called Jack, replied to him and never heard anything back for a few days so I replied again and still never heard anything back. Absolutely shocking service, would never buy a car from here even if it was the greatest deal, customer service is non existent.

We were looked after by John, he was so welcoming and enthusiastic, we looked round a few cars and had a test drive. He was very knowledgeable and gave great advice and was super helpful on the app and paperwork side. We would definitely recommend. Thanks so much John

Visited yesterday, to see an advertised car, spoke with the salesman, I was really impressed, he seemed a nice chap - Tim.
Went back today and sat around for about 45 minutes. Eventually someone asked if they could help, they said they would let him know we were there.
10 minutes after Tim walks straight past without even a smile or nod. Then another 5 minutes, and a different salesman comes over - the car is not prepped, and hasn't been checked! and that takes a long time! Ok fair enough, oh and it's been reserved by another customer, ok! But why didn't someone tell me that 45 minutes ago? Tim, the nice man! Couldn't even show his face!
Yesterday Tim and I joked about feeling uneasy at main dealers! Well to be fair, I will never be back!

Car was serviced and MOT’d. PASED MOT. My car is 5 years old, and Ford have serviced it every year in my ownership (3 services).

Telephone call received from Agent pressure selling additional work at inflated prices. I declined the work.

I did not receive the ‘video check’ as previous years.

Alarmed when I saw Service Report.
Brakes - Red Flagged
Windscreen Wipers - Red Flagged
Hazard Warning Lights - Red Flagged (here the comment related to a recommendation for a new remote key fob and nothing to do with lights)

Any of these items should have resulted in an MOT failure, yet Evans Halshaw issued an MOT Certificate.

The day following the issuing of the MOT certificate I took my car to an independent garage to determine its road worthiness. The garage said they have had this a lot with Evans Halshaw Ashton under Lyne.

I have since made a formal complaint asking was the technician reckless issuing the MOT certificate considering the Red Flags raised,

Or where the Red Flags raised a means to misrepresent the condition of my car to upsell additional work which was not required.

Evans Halshaw will not see my car again. I am now significantly out of pocket in having to commission a third party report.

They never answer the phone always have to drive down to order parts

Kieran Mach was very patient polite and exceedingly helpful over the last three days during my car purchase. I would strongly recommend him to any purchaser along with Ryan Hunt. They couldn’t have been more amenable than you both.

I visited this showroom back at the beginning of November 2025 to enquire about a new lease, I am a disabled client..
I was looking at a particular car and I was approached by a sales guy who was keen to speak as soon as I stated I was a disability client I was quickly passed over to someone else… The person I was passed to was the disability advisor who told me I’d have to make an appointment… Great I’ll make one then to be told it couldn’t happen there and then I’d have to call… I came home and called the dealership to then be told I’d receive a call back which never happened, 3 days passed I called again to attempt to make an appointment I was advised I would receive a call back which again never happened. I called a week later to be told the same thing and guess what! No call back.. Today i decided to visit the dealership and to my surprise i was told yet again by the disability advisor id have to make an appointment.. I expressed my dissatisfaction however I left my contact details for the 4th time.
My point is if I was an able customer shall we say I would have been placed in a seat and a deal would have taken place due to the nature of my business I’m bring to Ford Ashton Under Lyne, I am cast aside as if my needs are irrelevant. I think it’s absolutely disgusting and things need to change in terms of your approach, service and in house call back communication because obviously it isn’t working.

Thank you Christopher Cain for fantastic customer service and for sourcing me a great car. I was equally happy with the part exchange deal on my existing vehicle. I highly recommend Evans Halshaw for new and used vehicle purchases- honest, reliable and great customer service and after care.

Good all round experience. Part of service to be completed as discussed prior to the service.

Needed to replace locking wheel nut on my Ford transit due to worn locking removal key ,told it would cost £127. Told I would have to go to the Salford branch as they didn`t have the master key.
Ford salford don't have a master key they knock it off like any other garage and the cost is £300. Thanks for a part wasted day.

My dealings with used car manager Ryan Hunt has been excellent, Ryan has been very helpful and understanding on previous problems that have occurred, I have to say though not at any fault of Evans Halshaw themselves.
Ryan has been most helpful in sorting everything that has occurred and I can’t praise him enough for the service he has provided me with. Well done Ryan it’s been a pleasure dealing with you.

Honestly buying a car from these jokers was one on my worst decisions I’ve ever made in my whole time being a driver. I honestly thought they were good guys I’ve sold cars for the last 5 years for different dealership groups and honestly these guys are the prime example of how not to do it, Thieves would be putting it lightly. My salesman lied through his teeth the whole way. I work for the manufacturer of the car, I brought a Hyundai Kona starter of the reg SC21 steer clear of that car I got a master technician to inspect the vehicle, he gave me a laundry list of problems trailing arms separating from the body of the vehicle( according to the service manager with their perpetration standards) the total for all repairs was £1152 worth of repairs on a vehicle checked and inspected by Evans Halshaw 😱 with the cancellation of all my policies and losing my delivery fee of £150 I’ve lost money don’t make the same mistake I did. I’m making a formal complaint with the financial ombudsman.

Don’t bother trying to call the service department, I have been trying to call for MONTHS with no answer whatsoever. The only way to get an answer is to call the Sales department, but this won’t help either as messages aren’t forwarded on and calls aren’t returned. I had to go into the branch to get a response. I am a motability customer and I now have to privately hire a vehicle because of the extremely poor customer support and communication.

Last month I bought brand new Ford Explorer from Evans Halshaw Ashton Under Lyne. I wanted to share my buying experience with them, M.S was the person who dealt with me in all process, it is regretfully stated that I have had a very bad experience the services he provided to me. He is not updated with the information he gives to the customers. He gave incomplete or even some time wrong information and misguide through this. After completing the sale, he requested me to give him full five stars on the review, he also contacted my son, asking him to give him full marks on the sales review. (is this the reason of 4.5 stars to the company???) One day he took my mobile phone to install the Ford App in my phone, during installation, without my permission he opened my email by himself and started to complete the sales review, I stopped him to do that. His after sale services was also not satisfactory, when he was not able to address my issues/concerns he stopped to answer my calls/messages. I recommend a full refresher course for him to facilitate the customers effectively and efficiently.

After advising me at time of booking in it would be several days to fix, they actually had it done next day. Fault fixed, full service and MOT'd. Great customer service from them. Very happy.

Superb customer service from Jack Reid over the past couple of days. I cannot thank him enough for his patience, lovely manner, professionalism and knowledge. Particularly his patience with my Dad and I. He made the whole experience of buying a car less stressful, nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond. Thank you!

Arranged to look at a used car, and was told lots of people interested in it so put down the £99 deposit to ensure it wasn’t sold before I got there and was told that holds it for 48 hours.
Went to view the car same day, and wasn’t convinced as it was filthy inside (clearly hadn’t been valeted since last owner) and lots of pitting in the paint. So with that and the fact we couldn’t come to a decent deal on finance, I decided not to buy the car, not without some pressure as I was told someone else wanted to buy it straight away, so I wasn’t given any time to even think about it (funny how you’re told the £99 holds the car for 48 hours, when in reality it holds it until you make a huge financial decision).
So I risked it and walked away, and the car was sold to someone else.
Getting my £99 back was a massive trial. Took over two weeks of me cajoling and calling the dealership. When I said it was poor that it hasn’t been returned to me quickly, they disagreed!! If I’d known they’d hold onto MY money for over two weeks I never would have gone to look at the car.
Thankfully I’ve now bought from elsewhere and managed to get a brand new car for the same price, so clearly their finance is a massive rip off as well.

I recently bought a 19plate Renault Zoe from Chris Cain @ Evans Halshaw Ashton. Chris was great to deal with, friendly and professional throughout. I would not hesitate in returning for my next car purchase. Chris even lent me his Ford Puma Explorer when mine was slightly delayed having some final preparations done in the workshop. All the staff were friendly and helpful, not at all intimidating buying a car as a lone female. A very positive experience. I am over the moon with my new car, thanks guys

This is about Ashton Under Lyne branch.
Wanted to buy 2nd hand car from dealer. Arranged Independent check and unfortunately brought up, what could have been a major issue. When I started to negotiate resolution the dealership dug its heels in and refused to either double check the issue or negotiate price adjustment. Simply kept citing the company mantra that all cars are fully surveyed before selling. Frankly I would not think of buying from here because they take the unwelcome attitude that they are right full stop.
