following my previous post regarding SEVEN holes drilled behind my not yet 2 year old car, it was after much complaining, that the car bought only weeks earlier had to go in for filling, painting and a new reg plate fitting, that i now have to add insult to injury. On buying the car we had noticed a metal to metal grinding noise on startup when the engine was cold. We played a phone captured video to the service manager who said that "it was normal and just called CONSTANT MESH." i posted the same video to other owners on a social media platform- many stating that it was a bearing failure problem with the clutch release mechanism ! which hastened me to return and ask for further investigation. we left the car on for 3 days to check cold start and reasons for the problem, but before leaving the head technician listened to the video and clearly seemed alarmed whilst saying that it wasn't normal! after returning we were told that the car had to be booked in for further investigation !! but it would be a SIX week wait due to staff illness and having the need for a service bay to be able to lift the car and drop the gearbox.
6 weeks was last Monday 12th May..4 months after first showing the video. i heard nothing up to Thursday and as the work was expected to be done by Friday, i gave the service team a call, only to be told they would know anything else by the Friday, and to expect a call.. I was called the next day only to be told that again, due to staff illness, and having nowhere to look at the car ( remember 6 weeks wait) and when i said it will be going into SEVEN weeks to deal with the car, " when am i likely to know that the cars being repaired" i was met with the remark by the service customer service department with " well how long's a piece of string " !! UTTERLY DISGUSTING.
i said well " lets hope that piece of string's a bit shorter by the start of next week !! to add further insult to my seething anger, i got a call 3 hours later from someone at Evans Halshaw in Citroen York to ask if my car was in for a service ! i said yes and it had been there all week after a 6 week wait and it had still not been looked at, to which he replied- " would it be of your benefit, if i gave you an estimate of value to use against a new car here at Evans Halshaw !! I let this guy (josh) have it broadside and said i wasn't impressed with the sales team who sold me the car, and that had nothing but trouble since buying from them, as they had been ignorant (previous post) and once paid, just didn't want to know, to which he laughed and said " yeah i know".
in 43 years of enjoying driving, i have never paid as much for a car, nor have i been treated with utter negativity and disrespect. disgraceful, utterly terrible. please hark my warning about the antics of this company.

Well where do I start! Was buying a Lexus customer service from Ross G was appalling! Left on hold for 45 minutes called off another number and my call was picked up straight away! Pulled out of the buy! Now come the issue of getting my £500 deposit back! Numerous calls and a 8 days later a guy called Arron helped to get it sorted! ARRON was a great guy!! Did I complain and email before this review? Yes !! Did I get a reply to either email? NOPE still waiting for even an acknowledgment of receipt!! Guys you need to improve your customer service! Listen to your customers! And don’t push them from pillar to post! Things should not be that stressful!! To add the car in question was £22k and I was told by numerous people from your end! there were issues and it needed parts ordering! However on your phone machine and web site it says all cars are sold after relevant checks have been completed and the car is fit for sale!! Hmmm I think you guys need to drastically improve!!

Very good all round The servicing department kept me well informed throughout I found the video of the service very informative. Kerry worked hard keeping me up to date with what work needed doing and how long it would take. I honestly could not have asked for more.

The staff were brilliant and work done ahead of schedule.

The offer of a lift into York City centre wasn’t available and I wasn’t told about this until I arrived at garage. I was 15 minutes late due to traffic and my pick up time for the car was put back an hour. I arrived at the time to get the car and it still wasn’t ready.
