Our experience with Energas has been nothing short of a nightmare, despite what should have been a straightforward transition from Gas Direct. Right from the start, the service has been plagued by errors and unexpected costs.
Initially, we received three bottles, one of which was incorrect. On top of that, one of the 50L bottles arrived with a pressure of less than 230 BAR, which was completely unacceptable. After raising the issue, they sent a replacement, but this bottle only measured 195 BAR. Though we accepted it, considering it was close to the 200 BAR we required, it was far from ideal.
To make matters worse, about a week later, we received an invoice with over £160 in charges! Shocked, I contacted the Hucknall branch to question the fees, as they seemed completely unreasonable. They did issue a £19 credit for the wrong bottle, which we appreciated, but the handling and shipping charges still amounted to more than £70—this was the main reason we questioned the bill in the first place.
A week has passed since my initial complaint, and I’m still waiting for a clear answer or any resolution. This level of service is unacceptable, and I’m not willing to pay for their mistakes, especially when I’m supposed to be charged only £15 for delivery. Until this is resolved fairly, I won’t be paying a penny more.
If you’re considering Energas, be prepared for a lack of accountability and endless frustration. What should have been a smooth process has instead been riddled with errors, hidden charges, and poor customer service.
