I applied for Admiral and Elephant companies insurance cover, once all requested questions were answered, I got the qoutation which was 2344£ per year and payed the first payment
Then the digital assistant started a number of questions and the most were repeated questions, finally due to my convection and accedent, the both companies doabled the insurance price which 6545GBP per year, both companies are like scam, considering the othr reviews, I think both companies are not suitable for insurance.

Out of the last 20 times I've tried to login to my account, The login process has failed at least 18 times. This is just unacceptable.

Extremely poor customer service. The website is broken often and can't be used reliably. Pushes you to a chat function which doesnt work.
I actually wanted to renew my policy but gave up due to these issues.

Loyal customer badly let down in claims process.
I have been insured with Elephant for 17 years. Luckily during that time I did not have to make a claim - if I had, my time with them would have been much shorter.
After an accident nearly 3 weeks ago with our electric vehicle, Elephant declared the vehicle a total loss. When I challenged this decision, they:
- Refused to provide the eengineer’s report.
- Refused to provide the basis for the total-loss determination (cost, safety or both)
- Refused to provide a valuation for my vehicle and was told wrongly this could not be provided until I submit the finance settlement figure. Suspicious. The settlement figure is irrelevant to determining the pre-accident value and is therefore not a requirement or prerequisite for providing me with the valuation.
- Pressured into agreeing to an immediate salvage collection on the basis of accumulating storage fees,clearly as a means to create undue sense of urgency, and a clear intent to coerce.
- Did not physically inspect the car before total loss decision was made. The decision was made solely on photographs despite the fact that EVs require specialist inspection of the battery, underbody structure, HV systems and subframes by fully qualified and competent engineers with the relevant HV qualifications.
The recovery agent and insurer have also refused to allow me to view and access my own vehicle, which is not supported anywhere in the policy and prevents me from challenging or understanding the assessment.
I have tried raising a complaint but emails I send seem to disappear into a black hole. If they do reply, they do not respond to information requests or queries but rather use it as an additional opportunity to threaten me with storage chargers. Most recently they have threatened that my car will be taken by the salvage company Copart if I do not agree to have it dumped on my driveway by 3rd December (i.e. tomorrow).
They are not following their own complaint process. They are breaching the rules set down for them by the Financial Conduct Authority in terms of treating customers fairly, and yet they simply do not care. I do not have a complaint handler, reference or an indication of when they will provide an initial response. For my own paper trail, I have asked for all communication to be in writing which is consistently ignored by a particular representative from the claims team.
The amount of stress this is causing me is truly unmanageable and it is being used as a coercion tactic to wear me down.

They charged me £60 to leave them. That is what a firm of scammers do. Will I use them again, never, ever in a million years. Stay clear.

Awful experience, don't have any easy way to speak with anyone. Still haven't received the refund for cancelling the policy and point blank refusal to help from customer service team to resolve it. Avoid at all costs.

I'm still being harassed by Elephant insurance. They assumed a run on policy. I tried on numerous occasions to let them know I would not be renewing. They make contact impossible. The site wouldn't recognise my password. It wouldn't accept the new one once I tried to change it. No one answers the number they offer to call. I had to go to my bank and cancel the direct debit and still the harass me. This is driving me insane. Avoid this company at all costs.

Really positive experience with Elephant customer service after my premium increased. The lady I spoke to (didn’t get her name) was so lovely and helpful, she was able to get my monthly costs back down for me. This is not the first time I’ve spoken to elephant customer service and they have always been really helpful.
Signed up for my insurance and paid the £500 for the first month, never received an email from them about it. Tried to sign into my account on the web to cancel my insurance and it wouldn’t let me sign in so tried to do forgot password, won’t send me an email for that either. I have no way of confirming anything about my insurance and no way of cancelling it either

Had a drunk and/or elderly (I think) jump a turn on a rainy November day and ruin my bumper on an 8k JDM Toyota crown, they got a 3rd party to assess and I got 10k back, it took a couple of months but they couldn't fix but I got more than the value of the car. I work from home so didn't care about the time. I would use Elephant again the advisors spoke perfect English, were sympathetic, the online console was good and turned a 8k down the hole catastrophy into a minor event. It took ages because the car had to be assessed.
If you got a generic common car things will move fast if you got a 15 YO Japanese car with rare parts and someone hits you; be expected to wait not cool if you are someone who needs your car for work, you need a courtesy car.
Go for Platinum and no excess, it cost about the same, I went for excess and when you toggle its nil or a few pound more a month.

At renewal they contacted me to say they had deleted my details and could I provide them with my bank details. I didn't want to renew as it was dearer than other quotes. I tried to log in to my account online but couldn't. I assume the account details were also deleted. I called their call centre after 15 minutes I gave up and carried on with my new insurance. They are charging me for two months insurance. Passed my case to debt collection. For insurance I didn't want or need. Last time for any Admiral or elephant insurance for me.

This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with, I have an ongoing claim where I had an accident and have been without my car since June and still to this day they are doing absolutely nothing to fix it. My car has been sitting at Audi for over a month and they have been waiting for the go ahead to do the fix and Elephant are doing absolutely nothing. I will never get insurance through them again.

I would give no stars if i could. I was with the company for close to 20 years. I admit my own laziness (lack of interest in anything to do with cars) meant i didn't bother looking for another. But suddenly the premium went up this year, by nearly £200, with absolutely no explanation. They do an annoying auto renewal thing and bury the info in an email - so you suddenly find out and it's too late to do a free cancellation. Well i got a much better deal with Hastings Direct - so i have taken the cancellation fee hit - and just strongly advise any of you looking not to go with these guys.

New Scam ALERT- we bought insurance for our 17 yr old for a car we bought after he passed his test, about a month later these scammer from Elephant want a V5 document as they assumed we had the car from before and just whacked another £310 as we bought the car for our child and did not have it before. Just made up on the spot by the looks of it as you cant do it online and have to speak to them.

Id give less than a star. Be warned almost impossible to cancel auto renew and they will charge cancellation after you asked not to renew. No number to call only AI chat which pushes you around for hours don't reply to emails. Even in the account you can't use the call icon as it doesn't give number out.

Following an incident where a third party drove into me whilst I was parking up Elephant insurance did absolutely nothing to fight my corner despite me giving dash cam evidence against the third party’s word I have now lost eleven years no claims discount, it makes me wonder what do they do with the money I pay them every year. I am going to be changing my insurers now and wouldn’t recommend these cowboys to anyone.

This company is an absolute joke - reported an incident where someone hit my car in October 2024, they have done nothing to contact witnesses, taken the word of the guilty party with no investigation and closed the claim. Bunch of robbing cowboys - so not insure with this company. A score of 1 is even too high for this ridiculous excuse for a company.
