Sky tv deal fiasco

Following the Sky tv deal which gave a basic access to Disney + I was informed that my original premium yearly payment would be refunded shortly. As this had not occurred I contacted Disney + via a chat session on March 28th which in itself was time consuming and complicated but was informed the refund would take place in 7-10 business days. This did not happen so again went through the palava of another chat session and was promised it would occur by Thursday but of course it didn’t! I decided to phone and spoke with an agent who essentially burbled kindness and promises but ultimately left me confused and very disappointed to discover that a further ten business days would ensue before I received my refund! An absolute nightmare of time waisting procrastination and deeply disappointing!

Disney has lost the plot. Their moments of magic have been smothered by their new oppressive model. Too many rules and not enough magic. We used to be huge Disney fans making a point to come multiple times a year and it was a highlight of the year for us. Now we’ve lost all interest. Just one of the many examples of the lost magic moments we experienced: Left to go to the bathroom before a show and came back and they wouldn’t let me in even though our party of 13 was already in there, seat saved for me and 15 minutes before the show. Walt would be turning in his grave. Shame on you Disney.

Stealing my money and no access

1Signed up for their 6 months off of £10.99pm. They have taken the first payment my account still show no subscription. Tried all evening but it just went in circles asking me to choose a package. Spent 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer. When they did, within a minute the phone was cut off. How does one get to speak to a member of their staff? Dunno what to do and concerned that each month will be another payment. Their help bot only tells me to try things i've already tried. Really frustrating. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!?
EDIT: tried phoning at 1.45am, yes am! Got through quite quickly so i guess calling at this ungodly was worth it. I spoke to a female who new what had happened. It defied logic, too time consuming to go into detais, but she refunded the money to my cc account. I will join again but not yet as I just need a break! I'm now increasing to 2 stars, not for Disney but for the call centre woman who knew her stuff, a rareity for call centres generally!

Disney + is a scam

Disney + is a scam! While it's very easy to subscribe, it is nearly impossible to unsubscribe. I signed up w/ Fire TV. When I wanted to unsubscribe, I didn't see it on my list of subscriptions and thought I had already done it. Alas, I continued to be charged monthly. I logged into Disney's website and couldn't find anywhere to unsubscribe but managed to delete my account. After it cancelled, a window appeared stating that the deletion will not affect my subscription. Now I cannot log in to my (deleted) account and there is no avenue to unsubscribe, not that there was one before. We'll see if I get charged next month. If so, I will amend this review or submit another. My next action is to contact a governmental agency about this unfair practice.

App is garbage

I was enjoying Mayans M.C. and then as of today the app said I did not have an account. After struggling with it for about 30 minutes I called and got assistance. Then I discovered Mayans was no longer available which is the reason I signed up.
Absolute garbage app and service.
Never again.

Technofascism

They make it virtually impossible to remove yourself from your account. Customer service is inept and uncaring. The entire process is exemplary of living in a technofascist state in 2026.

annual passes deception!
We got an advertisement that stated Disney was having a half price off for the down payment of the annual plan.
Fantastic for thought now we can finally afford annual passes for our family with a down payment of only $10o per person!
Come to find out they take the monthly payment out the very next day.
So, although it is my bad for not reading the fine print from a company I've known and trusted my whole life. It's a dirty rotten trick that most people would not even think Disney would pull so buyer beware if you're getting an annual pass look at the fine print when your payment comes out

Disney smart TV app is a total joke. It crashes all the time, poor responsiveness to commands and the list continues. I also use the competition, Netflix, and it is way better from this point of view. So disappointed with Disney. It is a pity because they have good movies, especially for children.

Disney-HULU disconnect -Watch the business school brilliance…

Watch the business school brilliance unfold: charge customers subscription fees, then degrade their experience to please advertisers who contribute a fraction of the revenue. Genius.
Here's the arithmetic these MBA wizards apparently skipped: subscribers write the checks. Advertisers chase eyeballs. Without the former, the latter have no reason to exist. Yet somehow the paying customer gets demoted to inconvenient obstacle between Disney and ad revenue.
Remember "If you build it, they will come"? Build exceptional content, subscribers arrive, advertisers follow the audience. Instead, we get the inverse: degrade the product chasing advertisers, watch subscribers flee, then wonder why advertisers lose interest in your shrinking audience.
This isn't a sophisticated strategy; it's eating your seed corn while congratulating yourself on the meal. When you forget who actually pays the bills, the market eventually reminds you. Usually painfully.
But sure, keep optimizing for advertisers while billing subscribers. That's never backfired spectacularly before.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with Disney’s current ticketing and holiday event policies—specifically at Magic Kingdom.
It is already extremely expensive to purchase park tickets for a family. After paying what feels like an arm and a leg just to enter the parks, it is frankly ridiculous to then find out that during the holiday season guests cannot even enjoy Magic Kingdom at night unless they pay an additional $200 per person for a “special celebration.” This type of experience should be included in the cost of a standard park ticket, especially given how much families already spend to visit Disney.
How does Disney realistically expect middle-class families to afford an extra $200 per person on top of airfare, hotels, food, Genie+, and merchandise? For many families, that additional cost turns what is supposed to be a magical vacation into an unbearable financial burden.
Disney has long claimed to be a place “for families,” yet decisions like this send a very different message. At this point, it feels more appropriate for the logo to be Mickey Mouse holding $100 bills, because these pricing practices make it nearly impossible for middle-class families to enjoy what were once included experiences.
This is exactly why my husband has refused to visit Disney for years—he has repeatedly said it is cheaper to take our entire family to Europe than to visit Disney World. Sadly, after experiencing these policies firsthand, I now understand what he meant.
Disney magic should not come at the price of financial stress or exclusion. I sincerely hope the company reconsiders these policies and finds a way to make holiday experiences accessible to the families who helped build Disney’s legacy in the first place.

Poor communication

UK Review: Disney does not inform you prior to price increases. This is both monthly and yearly. I only found out by checking my bank statement. Every other company I deal with has mastered the art of informing customers about changes.

Ich kann mein Konto nicht löschen, weil scheinbar ein Abo verknüpft ist. Es ist kein Abo verknüpft - es gibt keine Zahlung, keine Nutzung, nichts...

Ich möchte eine allgemeine Löschung beantragen, -> Server nicht erreichbar.

Support kann außer einer Begrüßung auch nichts tun.. -> Inkompetenz²

Wirklich.. wenn jemand den Schrott schauen will, dann kauft euch die Filme.

Money taken

I have over the past year or so subscribed to Disney to take advantage of there monthly deals. I signed up to one at the beginning of the year first three months at a reduced standard rate. I then cancelled my subscription. But the following month after I cancelled Disney they took the standard subscription out of my account. I got in touch with the chat page but they could not find a solution could not find my card details or email attached to my account. I was assured it was sorted. I thought this was the end of it. But no they took money again this month. In all fairness the live chat
( hopefully ) has sorted it this time and hopefully 🙏

A truly horrendous app and website. You can't login via the website to speak to an agent about app issues. If you are logged in the app you can't download anything. Truly the worst streaming app and service on the market
