Product measurements were not correct and missing snap screws, tried to discuss by email Jan Marc, it went no where, she kept trying to get me to take pictures of screws that were missing! There is no support they do not stand behind their product. Also, I did not expect these to come from China, that explains the poor unresolved service and language issue in the emails. The ordering process was smooth with good help online and on the phone for the details. The order arrived when predicted and the quality of the items was superb.

I needed tracks and curtains for a uniquely shaped room in my business, and it was incredibly hard to find a company that could handle the project. Akon Curtains was the perfect solution. The process was very easy from start to finish, and the pricing was extremely reasonable. Before finding them, I was either getting cheap quotes for products that wouldn’t hold up in a commercial setting or outrageously expensive options. I highly recommend this company. I work with a lot of vendors, and they are definitely a cut above most.

I received the panels pretty quickly - within about 20 days between ordering them and them being at my house. Measurements were pretty spot on (I added a few inches on each side when measuring). I accidentally picked the wrong color for the webbing but called them the next day and they were able to change it to the black color. After the fact, I received a few emails with status of my order and an email once the panels shipped with tracking number. They even followed up about 2 weeks after delivery to check and make sure the installation went smooth and I had no questions. I was a bit worried about this whole process because the panels aren’t cheap and my measuring skills aren’t the best but I was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend if you need your screened in porch covered up for the winter!

Well-made curtains that don’t take too long to arrive. Fit perfectly! Will order from AKON in the future if I have the need.

All my tarps were custom made for many cut outs and zippers. 8 in total. 1st tarp I received came to me too small but they replaced it right away. The other 7 fit perfect for my unusual project. Absolutely would recommend Akon Tarps.

I am very pleased with the custom 30 mil clear vinyl curtains I purchased. They were easy to install and look great. The curtains gave our patio a finished and clean look. It also provided a protective barrier against wind and rain while still being able to enjoy our view. That allows us to use our heated outdoor area even on cold, rainy, snowy or windy days. I would recommend this company to friends and family and will purchase from them again when the need arises.

This group is very proactive with customer service. They look out for your best interest for the construction of your order. The curtains were delivered just as we were told...prompt service and a great product.... totally recommend.

From ordering to delivery customer service was fantastic. This was a custom order and the final product was even better than I expected. High quality product with suburb construction that will last a very long time. Installation was super easy!

Overall the ordering process was straight forward and everyone I worked with was very helpful. Robert Baldwin took extra time to work with me on shipping options and overall any other questions I had. He provided better support than I was expecting. Pricing was fair and the quality of the materials is great.

Horrible. Ordered tarps from them, thinking they were manufactured in the US, turns out they outsource the production to China when “their factories are at max capacity.” This of course means that items can get stuck in customs, which then aren’t delivered in the time window listed on their site.

Their customer service is horrible when trying to resolve this issue. Classic foreign call center, reassure they will call you back and don’t, pass the issue along but never resolve it.

Just a horrible experience all around. Still don’t have my $1100 of tarps that I ordered over a month ago.

Save yourself some money and just buy them from Aliexpress, since they’re likely coming from the same factory.

I received excellent support from Robert in Customer Service. He helped work us through a production issue pertaining to my order and kept me engaged throughout the entire process in a professional manner. Though I am just a simple residential customer, it is great to have outstanding service and I’m very pleased with the results.

UPDATE — December 17, 2025

On December 4, AKON publicly acknowledged that they failed to communicate and apologized for the lack of response. Their public reply suggested a willingness to address the situation.

I responded the same day asking to move the conversation back to email and stating that I would be willing to revise or remove this review if communication resumed.

As of December 17, two full weeks have passed with no follow up. There has been no email, no call, and no attempt to continue the conversation. The only response we have received remains public.

For clarity, our nonprofit initially reached out in early September regarding a potential sponsorship of kennel covers for rescued dogs. AKON engaged extensively, requested measurements, provided drawings, discussed materials, and proposed specific options.

Throughout that process, AKON themselves described the interaction as a potential partnership, which we were genuinely excited about.

The public reply, however, read in a way that suggested we were expecting free products or making unreasonable demands. That was not the case. Our goal was simply to secure kennel covers and to explore a partnership that AKON had already framed as such in prior communications.

By our second email, we clearly communicated interest in adding a small number of additional kennel covers and play yard panels. The majority of the discussion occurred after that clarification, including measurements, layouts, and design drawings. This was not a surprise to AKON at any point, despite how the situation was later characterized publicly.

At the time of AKON’s public response, we were open to discussing various ways the project could proceed, including paid options, given the amount of time already invested in planning and design. That discussion never occurred because no private follow up ever came.

What is concerning is that AKON chose to respond publicly while providing no private follow up at all. Without any direct communication to support it, the public response did not result in any meaningful progress.

At this point, the issue is the absence of follow through after substantial engagement and after a public acknowledgment that communication failed, while also offering the option to rectify the situation.

When I reached out to attempt to proceed, there was once again no response of any kind.

Our nonprofit rescue reached out to AKON in early September about custom kennel covers to protect our rescued dogs during supervised decompression and downtime. We communicated directly with Mark Ackerman (Sales Team Lead – Residential) and Kevin Catalin (General Manager / Head of Operations).

At the beginning, both individuals appeared extremely engaged and accommodating. We exchanged around a dozen emails that included detailed measurements, drawings, design ideas, and layout discussions. Their enthusiasm made it seem as though our project mattered and that they were fully committed to helping us.

Because of this, we did not pursue any other companies. AKON led us to believe we were moving forward and we relied wholeheartedly on that communication.

Then, without any warning or basic courtesy, the communication stopped entirely on October 3.

Our multiple kind follow-up messages were entirely ignored for two months.

No reply.
No update.
No explanation.
Not even a brief message saying they could no longer assist.

We fully understand that companies get busy or that circumstances may change. A simple “we’re unable to take on this project” would have been completely acceptable. What is not acceptable is overpromising, gathering extensive information, requesting detailed designs and then disappearing without a single response.

Because we relied on AKON’s commitment and expected follow-through, we postponed reaching out to other vendors. As a result, our dogs are now without the proper coverage they need during the coldest months of the year, all because we trusted a company that could not be bothered to communicate.

This is not a small inconvenience. This is a failure of basic professionalism and respect.

After decades in customer service, I can confidently say that this is not how reputable companies operate. The disregard shown to a 501(c)(3) trying to provide safety and comfort to vulnerable animals in desperate need of care is something I will not forget.

I’m grateful we learned early exactly who we were dealing with. These innocent dogs have survived enough harm in their lives. The last thing they needed was another empty promise followed by complete silence.

The online ordering was very simple and the customer service folks were knowledgeable and friendly. The order was delivered on time with every item included. I would not hesitate to order from Akon again. Thank you.
