I’ve used Covent Garden FX online for a couple of years and always received a first class service but I visited the store for the first time today and was super impressed by the service received, best rates and very friendly team. My go to for currency exchange

Please be considerate in your denominations if one is buying a large amount and take note of the time the notes were produced. Most people will not know which countries accept older USD notes. As a forex company you would know and be aware. I bring this to your attention so another person will never be in my shoes. Please do the same to your fellow man.
 
I received USD2700 in USD100 notes and USD300 in USD20notes. I did not anticipate any problems until now I am on holiday. 

My holiday has been spoiled and I feel very sad and teary. The reason being you gave me old USD100 and USD20 notes. The country I am in which is Zimbabwe does not accept those notes. They only accept the ones after year 2013.  No place accepts the notes you gave me as they are old in years.  I have spent nearly £6000 on my tickets for me and the children.

 What saved me was when I phoned the reserve bank, I was informed to bank them first and take them out as new notes. I had to ask a local  person to use their bank account as I dont have a bank account in this country. What I was not aware is that for each USD1000 old notes I banked I lost USD40 in exchange. I had no choice but to accept that as how will  I survive in a foreign  land with children until our return on the 26th of August.  Why did you not be considerate and give me at least a USD1000 in smaller denominations and newer notes in years?

 What you have made me go through in the last few days since our arrival on the 28th of July, I do not even wish you to be in my shoes as that would be very cruel to see a fellow man go through this and worse of all if I am aware of that issue about that country as I am sure I am not the first person who has bought forex money from you travelling to Zimbabwe

Great service from these guys and it was the best exchange rate I could find. I pre-booked my order online, then took the cash to their office a few hours later that afternoon and the money was in my account the very next morning. They were helpful and friendly and I got a bonus free pen ; )

I used Covent Garden to sell back my euros as they had the best rate, I was nervous about sending money through the post . Unfortunately my order wasn’t received that day despite using guaranteed by 1pm and Royal Mail had no update on the tracking. I rang and spoke to Juliana to let them know and she was ever so helpful and made a note on my account. I was anxious as it was worrying so much money was lost. Luckily by the next day Royal Mail updated saying they had sent it to the wrong sorting office and was on its way to the right one. My money arrived a day later and my original buy back rate was honored, Juliana rang me to let me know my order was received. This put my mind at rest. Great customer service going above and beyond! Thank you so much. We also bought the original euros from here and it was dispatched in no time. Highly recommend and will use again.

Got one exchange rate online and was asked to fill out a large transaction fee form. We also spoke to 2 people on the phone ahead of arriving in store.
When we got into store we were told the rate would have to be different (a lot less) due to the denominations of notes that we brought in. This was not specified anywhere online, nor was it asked when we spoke to members of the store team on the phone prior to leaving home. I’m assuming this was due to the additional work they would need to do in running the money through a money counter. (Not even counting by hand so I don’t understand why it is additional work). Basically ended up getting the same rate that we would in going anywhere else. Absolutely no point in coming all the way to central London to exchange money with them unless you are wanting to get the same rate that you would at anywhere else - they advertise they have the best rate then give you the same rate as others. We had no choice than to exchange with them as we travelled over an hour into London solely for this purpose.
The staff were dismissive and did/said nothing to explain or appease the situation. We were told it was the managers decision and no point in discussing with him as he was “just a pair of hands”. We basically got penalised for something that wasn’t a fault of ours (as they did not specify they needed this information anywhere) but required more work for their machines. So even though it says “no commission“, they basically make their commission in giving you a lesser rate at the end.
You also have to wait to receive your money - we brought in on a Saturday and was told we would get it “sometime in the week” - it arrived Wednesday evening.
Would never patronise them again.

Saw the reviews of Covent Garden FX and can confirm they offer superfast hassle free delivery and good competitive rates that beat the usual high street outlets. Communication is great and they answer any query very quickly .Will definitely use in future for Euros .
