Easily the best online postal FX service I've ever used. I made an error during the money bank transfer but not to worry. A quick email to Sam and within the hour it was all sorted.
Excellent customer service I will use time and time again!

Edit: The response misunderstands my post. - I do not mention the denomination request charge in any part of my review. I’m making other customers aware that guaranteed next day isn’t guaranteed; and when it fails the only thing it does is increase their profit margin when they inevitably claim it back. The tug at heart strings “small family business” is just insulting - was a customer for many years and intended to continue to be, no more.

Ordered currency for an upcoming trip and paid for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm. It didn’t arrive on the guaranteed date and is still sat at my local sorting office. It will now arrive Monday. When you’re ordering travel money, timing matters - that’s the entire point of paying for a guaranteed service.

Their T&Cs state they’re not responsible for delivery delays “outside their control,” but they chose the courier and charged me for the premium service. They can claim the delivery fee back from Royal Mail, but won’t pass that on to customers.

Rates are competitive, but if your delivery fails, don’t expect them to take any responsibility.

Edit: delivery arrived Saturday morning - a day late on guaranteed delivery.

Was looking for some US dollars for our holiday and found the best rates by pre ordering, looking further found the best rate from Covent Garden FX which also included delivery. Was a bit concerned as they are in London and we are in the Midlands. Looked into them on here and the reviews were all pretty good, looked further and all appeared good. Then looked at how we pay and get the currency delivered, transfer was quick and simple through on line banking with delivery via Royal Mail signed for on a day chosen by us. We made the purchase and got an order confirmation back via email (ordered at 9pm) which included a statement that confirmation email of payment happened in office hours. Following morning the email arrived, followed by another one asking for confirmation of address and name etc. It also gave another email to send it to and stated they would be in touch if anything else is needed. The night before delivery RM mailed to say they had it and delivery was next day, the following day it arrived. Checked it and everything looks good, really impressed at the communication, everything is included, no hidden charges and delivered when they said.

I have been us Covent Garden FX for a number of years as they always offer really good rates. Better than banks, post office and all travel agents I had looked at.
Friendly and efficient service make the deal even better. If you specify denominations they will give to you. I don't bother going anywhere else.

I am not one for coming on and leaving reviews but after I just tried Covent Garden’s fx I felt I had to. They were amazing, really polite, helpful and accommodating to me. I honestly can’t praise this company enough and the exchange office, sorry I can’t remember his name but sorted out what I requested and sent out directly and trouble free. And it was the best exchange rate at the time to.

Due to unforseen problems with the Royal mail our clients holiday in money went missing.
Having contacted Covent Garden FX we spoke to Sam Newbury.He explained everything clearly and using his experience and expertise he assured us that we had nothing to worry about as the money was insured.
Over the following few days he kept us informed of any developments and two days after contacting Royal Mail about our missing money it was refunded to our account.
Sam was professional and courteous and friendly, Sam did everything he said ,excellent service under difficult circumstances, top marks to him and Covent Garden FFX.

I've used Covent Garden FX on and off for a number of years and their exchange rates and personal, friendly service is second to none.
Yesterday (a Friday) I posted some surplus Euros, I used Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed delivery before 1pm the next day.
Today (Saturday) the money was in my bank account before 2pm. That would be excellent for a weekday but for a weekend is unbelievable.

I think if you just exchange one currency then they are fine otherwise not ok. I tried to change usa dollars and Vietnam Currency( VND). They took the full payment but under paid VND. They did rang up informing that they have not enough VND so will increase the dollar amount. It was no where near the amount the amount I lost in vietnam VND.

A fabulous, friendly service, simple to use and offering a massively better rate than using the Post Office or Tesco. As we had to change more currency than was comfortable to carry around, being able to exchange bills and have the cash transferred into our account in about 3 hours was huge bonus.
